Isn't it supposed to be Sunday - our game is on Saturday?

is that not jumping on the red top media bandwagon by convicting the lad before he has been tried at court.I don't know anyone that was at any of the mentioned incidents all i know is what i have read and i know it is hard not to think that there is no smoke without fire but regardless of who he plays for ,surely he deserves a fair trial. every time i read about the lad it mentions the fact that one of his family is in the clink for a racist murder, this gives a preconception of joey barton whether we like it or not.The fact is that he is, and should be innocent until proven guilty.I bet if everyone on here was perfectly honest there would be a hell of a lot of people admitting to crimes just as bad if not worse than what joey barton is now facing the difference is they havent been caught.i think KK will bring out the best in JB and that can only be beneficial to us. If we were talking about one isolated incident then fine, but its not and any fool can see Barton is a nutcase. Suddenly because the feel good factor is back and Barton has played maybe 1 or 2 decent games, peope are chastised for telling the truth, he is a thug. I actually said as long as he contributes to the playing side of things positively then I have no problem with him being here - I'd rather he was respectable but as long as his idiot actions don't affect our team - which they still might as he could easily get banged up, then I don't care - but to suddenly start trying to defend his actions which are not a one-off the guy has a long history of violence, is quite incredible and I find quite hypocritical for two reasons: 1. Before KK came and Barton started playing again and was under his strict bail conditions many were baying for his blood. 2. If he hadn't joined us and was still at Man City and had done his recent affray, how many would be spouting such sh*te as "its all tabloid rubbish" and "innocent till proven guilty" - not as many methinks. The justification for his actions both recently and in the past is incredible oh and just because some people in life may have done some similar crimes does NOT justify his actions - tell that to Dabo, tell that to the youth player, tell that to the 15 year old Everton fan who narrowly escaped a real hiding thanks to Dunne.

I think previously stubbing a cigarette out in a youth player's eye, beating up a 15yr old everton fan, kicking the daylights out of teammate dabo and then the latest affray could be termed thuggish! Hardly boyish exuberance!

If he plays well then brilliant even if he is a total thug? Actually, I probably agree to a degree that as long as he does it on the pitch then it doesn't matter - however saying that, his off the pitch activities does actually matter to what he does on the pitch - if he gets banged up for a long stretch because he's a thug then what's the use in him? We haven't been able to play the tw*t for part of the season because he of his bail conditions and he hasn't exactly got a history of learning his lesson.

Think I'm in the same camp, it was a brilliant win against Spurs but if we beat Reading who will be very organised, very committed and won't give us much time on the ball etc then I really do think we have turned a massive corner. I think we've already turned the corner. The last three results haven't been flukes, we've played excellent football, passed well and defended intelligently. Don't think any team will relish playing us right now. It's fair comment and I'm almost there, but to quell the negativity that has been built up in me since, well I think Souness time, a result against Reading really would start to be a run of form and consistent level of performances and results which to the outside media etc couldn't be dismissed as a 'couple of flukes'.

Beye has been good and Enrique is improving every game. Beye is not that young and while I'm happy that we bought him, I couldn't say I wouldn't have liked Hutton here. I had the opportunity through to watch him play for Scotland through their sponsors, against some top class opposition and he has looked top, top quality, paciest fullback I've ever seen. Plus if I'm not mistaken he's younger or around the same age as Enrique, a quality or point people have been going on about him.
-
Solid but hasn't impressed me going forward which is an important aspect of a full back's job in this league - for £6.5m I hope this is something we will see improve.
-
Still think enrique needs to improve massively going forward, additionally they were up against a very poor team, but fair do's, clean sheet, long may it continue
-
So can someone fill me in on this guys qualifications and experience as at this point it appears another totally puzzling appointment!
-
I don't know about this guy but I've had the feeling since KK returned that it was a temporary job until the summer. It aint based on any facts or evidence just my own gut feel the way KK has been since he came back - it has a really temporary feeling about it.
-
Must have been watching a different game, for me he was rubbish going forward, looked uncomfortable on the ball, lacked pace and his crossing and set pieces were quite frankly laughable, the number of times he failed to clear the first man was ridiculous. We need far far more from a winger. For me, next game I'd have zog on left and martins on right, especially at home.
-
How many corners did Geremi actually beat the first man with? Shocking!
-
I agree it was more important not to get beat, but given Viduka was well and truly knackered and Martins was more and more threatening, it was a very poor decision by Keegan.
-
Dreadful player, agree about Barton, does one good thing then one bad!
-
Rancid decision, geremi has been awful but he takes martins off???
-
Given our track record of buying players in recent times and the lack of players who I think will be available in the summer due to our league position, I think selling Milner would be a massive mistake. There are far more pressing areas to improve, maybe if we were sitting in 5th at the moment and looking to build a team to break into the top 4 should we potentially be looking elsewhere but right now we are not in a position to be selling england under 21 internationalists whose attitude is always spot on.
-
What i went for Make it three Purely on form Another one for this I'm afraid - purely on form
-
Duff's legs are gone, without this pace he is a very, very ordinary footballer.
-
Not sure what the point of the reserves is if you never actually promote anyone. Yes there is a step up but some folk in our first team have had enough chances.
-
We would have got more points, not many but we wouldn't have been going gung ho in the last minute against blackburn under allardyce for example. Let's face facts, its been a tough run but we are absolutely dreadful at present and Keegan hasn't got a single result. Right now we don't need fancy football or entertainment, right now we need results.
-
Aye, I thought he was praised to high heaven in an OTT way when he arrived then got some very undeserved, equally OTT, criticism towards the end. Couldn't agree more, very good summary
-
Exactly, the only plus point being we may not be paying interest now on the debt, but that's a pure guess at this stage.
