Portsmouth have changed it tactically, be interesting to see if it has any effect.

Quite satisfying to see another team getting a good humping off Man U! I know its quite sad but at least its not just us!
-
Ah yes, ill never forget that game and the drivel before from young kieron, what a humping we took that day and Scholes was on fire, pity Dyer forgot to turn up
-
Scholes is looking a lot more impressive than Carrick, his range of passing is excellent, how he keeps playing to the standards he does is amazing
-
Defo best player in world right now, quite magnificent

THis run of bad form is the lag off Allerdyce, the Arsenal fixrtures came at an unfortunate time. Nobody can be that bad for this long. It has to end. Again, point taken, time to start looking on the positives! Its been one of those mornings, I'll try and shake this negativity off!!

We beat Bolton away and drew at home - 4 out of 6 pts Sunderland we drew with away from home - 1 out of 3 pts, have to play them at home yet Wigan we beat at home and lost away - 3 out 6 pts Reading we lost away from home - 0 out of 3 pts, have to play them at home yet Its not like we aren't taking points off them tho is it. Apologies, I'm typing on the run and didn't think, you are of course right, I'm just saying our form isn't spectacular against the lower teams either.

If it was the summer and all we got in was this defender then i would agree but its Jan FFS, clubs dont like doin business in Jan thats a fact. Why would teams let their best plays go half way throu a season? Take Bently for example: Blackburn are pushing for Europe and Bently is probably their best player so why would Blackburn let him go in Jan? I do agree with that to an extent, I think you have to overpay to get players in January but given our circumstances and our so caled ambition I would have hoped we would have pushed the boat out. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, I do see your point and maybe my expectations we slightly too great for January.
-
If its fair (and I agree) that we don't compare ourselves against Arsenal but other teams such as Bolton, Sunderland, Wigan and Reading - then I'm still worried as we have so far played and failed to beat any of these teams.
-
I back everyone that comes into the club and my criticism isn't directed on the lad, its a frustration at continuing to buy at a price level which I believe has a higher chance of failure than success and completely contradicts what the board and even KK keep telling us about their ambitions.

You mean posters on a message board? Based on what? Can't exactly remember teams knocking on the door to sign N'Zogbia or Beye. Yup, bring a defender in to shore up our leaky defence. What is Keegan thinking? Albert? Faye? Beye? Helder? Bernard? Terry? Vidic? Gallas? Let me respond to your ridiculous responses: 1. You mean posters on a message board? No, I meant the lack of other bids by other teams and I admit there is a presumption on my part however, with the laws of supply and demand, 2m euros tends to lead me to believe this guy is either at the end of his contract or nobody else is bidding for him and the market value for his level of quality is 2m euros, which indiactes a level of mediocrity. 2. Based on what? Can't exactly remember teams knocking on the door to sign N'Zogbia or Beye. N'Zogbia is hardly a relevant comparision being a 17yr old kid who hadn't had any exposure to first team action at any decent level and thus why would many be knocking on his door? Beye is a fair enough example of us doing good business, aside from Woodgate I am of the opinion that that is probably the two best pieces of defensive business we have done and given the amount of defenders we have had through the door that hardly is a vote of confidence in our ability to pick good defenders. 3. Yup, bring a defender in to shore up our leaky defence. What is Keegan thinking? What an idiotic response - let me let you into a secret, sh*t plus sh*t doesn't equal good!!! Bringing in another crap defender won't shore up a leaky defence, only good defenders will do that, 10 Rozenhals wont mean a good defence! 4. Albert? Faye? Beye? Helder? Bernard? Helder isn't an exmaple you can use as he was only on loan Albert is a fair enough example, I have agreed with Faye and I suppose Bernard was alright but nothing to get excited about. How about these: Dabizas O'Brien Griffin Carr Rozenhal Babyaro Pistone Wayne Quinn Yes indeed, they were all top quality! 5. Terry? Vidic? Gallas? Was a stupid response, did Keegan not say he wanted top quality that could come straight into the premiership or players that had prem experience - are you disagreeing with Keegan as well? Forgive me for being sceptical about a 2m euro defender who is playing for one of the worst defensive teams in Spain. Clearly I'm an idiot for thinking this could be a waste of time as all our defensive buys at that price in the past have been a spectacular success and indeed when you pay that much for a defender of a team of that quality we should expect he is going to improve our defence because thinking realistically appears to be wrong in your eyes. Continuing to buy cr*p at these sort of prices will not improve our defence. Look at Spurs - I'm not saying their buys will be successful but they are definetely setting the bar above us in ambition - Woodgate and Hutton may or may not be a success for different reasons but at least they are not scraping round buying dross for the sake of buying dross.
-
2m euros for a defender nobody else seems to want or certainly not clamouring for and its hardly a genius coup? Smacks of another mediocre purchase to fill numbers rather than a real tactical purchase. Given our track record on cheapish defendersn forgive me for being sceptical. Oh and I thought we were now going for top quality that could slot straight into the prem or players that had prem experience?

Yep, how many do they fancy? This could be a right kick in

Same old shit, never good enough

Mike Ashley is a billionaire. Therefore he probably knows how to run a business. However, i'm sure you are right and the roles within the club will be delegated willy nilly so that fracas occur and the club plummets into the abiss. Freddie Shepherd was a millionaire, not a billionaire did that make the difference? What a stupid response, how old are you exactly? Where did I say that Ashley didn't know how to run a business? Although, I can show you evidence of perfectly sensible successful business people making hashes of football clubs, which wasn't my point. Again, where did I say roles will be delegated willy nilly? Where did I say fracas will occur, where did I say the club will plummet into abyss? Either respond properly or don't at all.

There is a good chance this will end in tears with Keegan walking - I can't fathom a Director of Football without having some overlap on duties with the manager i.e. transfers - Keegan isn't exactly going to be happy if Wise brings in players that he doesn't want and Wise aint going to be happy if Keegan KB's Wise's suggestions. It will be interesting to see what Wise's role exactly is, I do find it all bizarre, from the appointment itself and whether its over KK's head or not, to the actual filling of that appointment with a man of dubious character and no executive experience whatesoever!
-
In theory it could be a very good move but why the hell pick wise? He has no experience at being a director of football development???
-
It is certainly starting to feel like a circus Only to us as we are looking at it so emotionally. To Mort, he is just bringing in the people he thinks can do the job. Whether Wise can or cant remains to be seen but Mort has to make decisions detatched from all that. Feeling will sharp change if the team/club improve. We really have to stop being so small minded. I'm not sure how it small minded to question the decision to bring in someone at DOF who has no experience at DOF? Granted I am assuming that it is DOF and this may be wrong so perhaps I should wait and see but it really is a random choice from a man who has no football experience.

It is certainly starting to feel like a circus
-
FPMSL Not sure what FPMSL means but I hope it means what a load of drivel, or words to that effect.
-
I think we have a bigger problem than fitness, our players just aren't big or strong enough, too many with short legs getting outmuscled and overpowered
-
That would be a joke, carver and terry mac as the senior management team - aka circus
-
Not good enough once again I'm afraid, not good enough!

Sadly lacking in quality and depth, although how was keegans record in london last time out, I don't ever remember many wins down there in his previous stint?
