  1. Let's face it, the squad we have aren't good enough to match the likes of arsenal
  2. Sounds like Skysports have been reading the chronicle and taking a leaf out of Oliver's journalism book

    Save our Shola!

Can't believe some people still see a future for the guy here.
  4. Seemed to do well against Bolton's lot though. Learning and gaining in confidence perhaps? Perhaps a change in the team's approach has also helped? Certainly willing to see if that does actually come true and reserve opinion, still quite nervious about him and if I was given the chance of signing a Woodgate or even better a Sol Campbell, I wouldn't hesitate.
  5. Bemused by people rating Cacapa, shits himself every time under a high ball challenge from a physical centre forward. I can see why he did well in France but not the rock we should be basing our defence around, he couldn't lace a half fit woodgate's boots!
  6. Solid but less than impressed with his distribution in the last few games and he isn't as fast as I first thought, certainly isn't going to be bursting forward greatly to link up play. My personal opinion is he isn't as good as some are making out and not as bad as the press go on about, I think we were diddled in terms of what we paid for him but the optimistic view is that we haven't seen the best of him yet due to age and new to the premiership. The pessimistic in me sees nothing better than a left sided Andy Griffin.

    Duff

Just my own opinion but there was a reason that mourinho let duff go and I happen to think it was for similar reasons to geremi. I'm not saying he is past it but I believe his best days are behind him, he lacks pace, aggression and gets physically pushed around. He clearly is a top professional and has a great attitude but I would personally be looking past him to the future this summer. I hope to be proved wrong!

    Alan Shearer

Hansen pretty much said Shearer was going by saying he is going to miss him. I think its a good thing, put terry mac further from actual tactics!!!
  9. I was sceptical but f*ck it, you can't help but get excited!!! I feel 10 years younger!
  10. Very unsure, feels short term and a quick tonic for a long term ailment. However, it won't be dull that's for sure!

    Kevin Keegan

Just hope he gets his staff right and puts mcdermott as the official club bookie and no more!
  12. So as part of Mort's critiera, I'll be interested to see what KK does with the youth set up. I can't remember why the reserve team was abandoned the last time but I hope KK gets someone in to sort this out from top to bottom.

    Kevin Keegan

As I say, he needs a strong No.2 who isn't afraid to say - "your crap, your out" and also has some tactical awareness.

    Kevin Keegan

Didn't fail with City, for fucks sake. Exactly how was that a success in terms of the premiership?

    Kevin Keegan

I hope he brings in a good No.2 and gets rid of the crap...McDermott, Pearson, Smith etc It a big challenge, after failing at Man City and England, I hope he can rise to it?

    Kevin Keegan

    This could end in tears
  17. I don't know, I like Houllier's track record and experience and think he did a great job at sorting out Liverpool and thus could maybe replicate that here. However, is he now leaning towards retirement, not got the same zest and energy? Maybe Deschamps is up and coming, hungry? No doubt Deschamps is the bigger gamble of the two though.
  18. but I don't see much difference between him and Shearer. Apart from he has managed two teams compared to Shearers none, one of which got to the European Cup Final oh and the fact he has won the World cup and European championships as a player, two champions league medals, 3 French titles, three Serie A titles and an FA cup winners medal! Not sure what he won as a player is supposed to count for as a manager. So if Deschamps had played for a third division side and won nothing, he would be as appealing at this point??? Sometimes a manager's playing career doesn't mean he will make it but if your telling me it doesn't matter in taking a decision about who to go for, particularly based against someone with no experience or little experience either then I disagree.
