You compare us to Man U The only team that has driven up those income streams in a short space of time is Chelsea and they are still making £200m losses. You can't get more advertising, sponsorship unless you are successful, unless Belagravia are going to put in hundreds of millions into the team itself (you can kid yourself it would take less by all means but we are light years behind the top 3) , we can whistle in the wind for the levels that Man U achieve, certainly over the short erm. Long term goals are another matter but I would be strongly sceptical as to the long term goals of Belgravia. It wasn't a case of comparing us to ManU - or indeed Real Madrid. It was just a case of showing how far behind we are. I can see a more open market for our next shirt sponsorship deals if Fred leaves - if a casino opens by St James expect to see MGN or similar splashed on the front of our shirts and Nike are always looking for new clubs. And whilst we may be 'hundreds of millions' behind the top 3, the immediate aim is to get back into the top 4. Spurs and Everton have shown that any team can get into the top 4 on a given season without huge investment, its staying there that will be the tricky part Fair enough, but to get to the revenue streams that Man U etc have, we have to show we can stay there and as you say, that will be the tricky part and the costly part. I just can't see Belgravia coming in with the view of spending a vast amount of money on getting the team to become a top 3 side. I agree that we should be looking at incremental steps, but that's a long term plan and I am not sure if Belgravia are looking at it that way, in fact I would be gobsmacked if they are. I fear the angle is other things such as the Casino.

Anyone who thinks we don't need a striker given the personnel we have and their injury records, given the way we have played this season - is an idiot! FACT!

Correct There seems to be a lot of hypocrisy amongst the fans at the moment. If this team was managed by Souness, playing the way they are at the moment, the cries would be heard all over the town calling for the manager's head. But because it's nice guy Roeder, they treat it differently? Roeder is sh*t, he should never have been given the job and he should be sacked asap - just like Souness - in fact going on track record, we should be MORE horrified with Roeder in charge compared to Souness. But of course, he's a nice guy so we shouldn't think that........

If it's Calum f*cking Davenport I'll be livid. Amen II
-
I hope its not he couldnt find his arse with both hands. I've always rated him. We should have had him in 2002. I know people call him a "greedy b*stard", but if Robson hadn't blown £6m on Bramble, I'm sure we could have paid the £4m and equalled Robert's wages to keep him here. Amen

Sums up him and also the direction of the club at the moment - what a th*ck, short sighted w*nker!!!!
-
It doesn't matter who I want, the fat f*ck is going to employ Shearer. Gross incompetency and short sightedness of the highest order! :wullie:
-
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! :wullie:
-
What, sack Roeder and ruin our chances of getting another 37 points and bottom-mid table mediocrity? Surely not!
-
..... I bluesigh.gif..... What do you want for £1m? In terms of fee paid, he's been as good as we can expect imo. Incidentally Roeder thinks both of them are wonderful, two of our best players in fact.. That's what pisses me off - who the f*ck is he trying to kid!!! Consistently sh*t maybe! Fine, he was cheap so maybe we shouldn't expect much but I'm damned if I should put up with hearing the spin cr*p that Roeder keeps blethering about good performances!
-
No, no, what he will do is go and watch them, despite the fact it is well known they are signing for Liverpool the next day!! blink.gif
-
Please add Carr, Babyaro and Ramage to that as well.
-
They wern't slow mos, thats Carr at full pelt
-
To get back on the thread topic, I have never seen such a blatant leak into the press by Shepherd to raise the share price and get Belgravia to make a move!!! There is no danger Shepherd will be able to afford to take the club over without another investor or crippling the club with debt.
-
PS. We only stared playing when Man City opened up looking for the winner, if they had kept playing the way they did for the first 85m or so, we wouldn't have had any chances whateseover! Roeder is f*cking awful! PPS. How the f*ck he can continue to play Stephen Carr is quite bizarre, if you saw some of the slow mo's of his inpet defending on Saturday, the guy shouldn't be playing 1st division football let alone Premiership!
-
We are playing as bad as we ever did under Souness, how Roeder can come out with some of the sh*te that he does is quite incredible! blueconfused.gif

Dont think ive ever heard so much shite in all my life. You sound like one of those people, who really want to know things about football, but infact you'd rather watch Touring Cars than a Toon match. For you to say he's a ordinary manager is astounding. You fail to mention some of the amazing football we have seen them play, the youngsters he has brought through, The FA cups he has won, the list goes on. If you dont like the bloke fair enough, but dont say such stupid things. Additionally the miracle he pulled off at Aberdeen before that, breaking up the old firm dominance but of course, that doesn't count, particularly beating Real Madrid in the final of the European Cup Winners Cup!!!

On reflection, one of my biggest worries right now is how some players are being picked no matter how bad they are, even if there are other players who can fit in. My main gripes being Carr, Bramble, Babayaro and yes, Mr Duff. How are we going to get players motivated when they know that they are guaranteed a place, even when they play sh*te??? Worringly still is the seemingly pinpointing of N'Zogbia for a good part of the blame and what appears now to be a consistent isolation of the lad. Mr Bramble appears bullet proof in comparision. Its these sort of things that make me worry about whether we will get out this mess, I really think we will go down with Roeder at the helm.

I'm not sure if its a question over Bernard's fitness or whether he is merely showing the form he has been in for the last 18 months or so.
-
If he isn't available, i'd settle for Wenger... ferguson if wenger and mourinho are to busy Last season, there were some on this forum who said they wouldn't have Ferguson..... mental.gif

That's a quite ludicrous statement/opinion - Bramble was supposed to be picking up Diouf on both goals and failed completely. This isn't the first time he has been guilty of ball watching either. I don't disagree with your thoughts on the full back position but Bramble is just as bad - his concentration levels are lower than a child's. It's not as simple as saying Bramble was poor, the back 4 as a defensive unit aren't working as a team. Maybe Bramble left Diouf for the 2nd goal because his concentration failed him, maybe he didn't have confidence in Moore to clear the cross, maybe he thought Carr would cover for him. The back 4 have to take collective responsibility in what they're doing. To blame Bramble in isolation is no different to blaming one midfielder when the MF is being overrun by the opposition or to blame one striker when there's no goals being scored. Pardon me but where did I blame Bramble solely for our defensive mistakes this season? Carr is utterly dreadful, Moore very, very average and it isn't worth mentioning Ramage. But give me a break, you sound like f*cking Roeder - Bramble has made some dreadful mistakes this season! Enough with your 'maybes' - they are excuses, I'm sure you could use those excuses for almost every mistake he has made - it was a blatant and schoolboy error for that second goal.

Before some unfunny **** asks, no, he's not talking about me. I am strawberry blonde and podgy at worst.
