    Edgar

Can't comment on Edgar but glad he has had a start and glad that it sounds like he has done okay, it gives us another option! The small amount that I have seen Hunty play he looks a more natural player than Ramage. At the moment I would pick Ram over Hunty purely on extra experience gained by Ramage. By the end of the season though if Hunty as alot more games under his belt I could see him jump the pecking order.

I still think getting a big bastard of a striker in should be #1 priority, or at least a player to play just off Martins/Owen. I agree we need a big man up front but I'd much prefer a left back first. LB, Big CF, RB CH that would be the order of my transfers if I had loads of money to spend

    Owen

One thing we cannot criticise Roeder for is rushing players back, he has given each one of our players time, even denied Given a comeback for one game even though Given was determined to play. As long as Roeder doesn't bow to Owen pressure or FA pressure for that matter then I think he will handle the situation okay. As someone said earlier it would be good to see Owen back at some point this season but the most important thing is that the lad is fit for our pre-season program. Excuse my French but f**k England and the FA we pay his wages and club is most important part (or should be) of a players career.

    Pierre Boya

We need strikers and defenders and seeing as at the moment defense particulary full backs are more important I don't mind looking at cheaper options up front. Think if we went for a half decent Championship striker we are talking at least 3 million. Unless we do get taken over by the transfer window we will not be seeing 5-8 million pound signings, they are going to be more along the lines of Sibs and Rossi. If we can find another gem like Sibs then great because I think he has exceeded everyones expections, mine certainley. I was furious when we signed him, but he has been as important for Roeder as Gallagher was for Sir Bobby Robson in his first season.
  5. At least 2 seasons away from CL at the moment. When it comes down to it Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool are so strong at the moment, it would take an almighty task to overhaul them. Even if Arsenal sell Henry I thinbk Wenger has enough sense to use the money wisely and build another excellent squad.
  6. On current form Butt should be one of the 1st names on the team sheet. The last few games he has been great. Parker needs to earn his place back. I don't think he is a bad player but needs to find that formula that made him tick at Charlton. If we go back to a 4 man midfield on Saturday I think Butt and Emre should keep their places and Parker to take a seat on the subs bench. It may do him good, the kick up the ass he needs.
  7. I say well done Hunty, he is not the answer to our defensive problems at the moment but he hasn't done much wrong. Okay he offers little going foward but in defence he has been solid. Its been a very promising start for the youngster.

    Chris Riggott?

If thats the kind of money we are spending on a CH I would hope that we would be getting a lot better in quality that what we have got. Even though I think Riggott is better than our players IMO he wouldn't be that much of an improvement.
  9. I'd rather take McBride at the moment. Fulham are not exactly making an impression on the Premier League and Collins John cannot get in the 1st team squad. I think he would have to do a bit more for us to sign him. Coleman is not letting players go cheap either so we would probably pay over the odds for him.
  10. Parker is one of my favourite players at the club, but, Emre and Nicky Butt have been forming a good partnership together lately, so I would stay with them until form dips or injury breaks them up. Butt has been a big bonus this season, a different player to what we witnessed the season before last.
  11. I hope he comes good, because on top of his game he is a dangerous player. To be fair to him the last two injuries have been out of his control completley, no matter how much a little prick he has been in the past I have never believed that he wanted to be injured. Hopefully his major injury problems are over now.
  12. I am gladly eating humble pie. I thought we were signing a crock of shit, fair play to the lad he has been tops for us this season, without him it would not be worth thinking about.
  13. We are very short on numbers even if its a very short term deal until January it would be a massive help, he gets to play football and be in the shop window and we have more defensive numbers. If he plays really well contract him until the summer. Just read the part of about him not being available until January so scrap that idea, I would hop in Jan we will be able to bring a better calibre of player here.

    Carr

Isn't Babayaro suspended as well so it maybe a case of Carr having to start. I see a back four of Carr, Taylor, Huntington, Ramage. Baptism of fire for young Huntington but I don't see us having many other options.
  15. If Blackburn lose Hughes has something to moan about. I know managers are dissapointed after a loss and a lot of them do blame refs at times but this is everytime Blackburn lose or draw.

    Crouch in january

I cannot see Crouch coming in January, Liverpool are still in all the cups and only have 4 strikers. Fowler not exactly anywhere near his best. I cannot see Rafa being happy with Kuyt, Bellamy and Folwer as his only strikers. Even if he has money to spend in January he won't be able to buy a top striker that would be available in the CL. I would take Crouch though, he would offer something different, my only worry would be if we would hit long balls at him all the time and by pass our midfield.
  17. Hopefully this will be the start of a hot streak, he seems to me a classic example of a confidence player. Took his goals yesterday very well and kept his composure brilliantly for his second. He made it look easier but there was hell of a lot of skill involved in that goal.
  18. Alot better than anything we got, we would be made to spurn a chance like that. But seeing as he has played a bit for Fergie this season and the NOTW printed it I see us in little chance in signing him.
  19. We are in more need of a target man type player! Hasn't Roeder said recently that he admires Darren Bent, I know Bent is not your typical target man but he is more physical that anyone we got.
  20. I am playing Devils Advocate here, I actually don't think Roeder is up to the job but say we win all of our games during December and we move to a health position in the league does he still remain one of our worst managers in history? There is no point sacking him right now, if we are going to have to sack him do it so that a new manager has a transfer window to get new faces in.
  21. At the end of the season I have us 12th on 46 points. Chelsea to win the title on 98 points Sheff Utd, Charlton and Watford miles behind 17th to go down.
  22. John Dahl for me, I really thought he was going to be the bees knees. By the way I thought Acuna was quality and was unlucky not to play more for us.
  23. The parts of the games when we have played well against Pompey and Reading Emre has been the catalyst for that. On form he is a great player and I hope this good form continues.
  24. Taylor has suffered from some poor decision making of his own and the laugable other players we have in defence. For me it looks as if he has taken a step back from when he first come along. I think he has the potential to become a very good player but he needs to be playing next to the right partner. Some one like Sol Campbell could have been great for him, instead he has to learn from Titus. Taylor can be very rash at times and needs to cut that out of his game. I can still see him pickng up a few caps for England.
  25. As I said yesterday he probably had to have 10+ stitches in his leg after that gash which will have meant he won't have trained until yesterday at the earliest and I don't think it would be wise to risk a player who has a history of injury on just 2 days training. Much better idea to let him recover then play him on Saturday. aye what he said! Newcastle United make a sensible decision blueeek.gif How much I want to see Dyer play, its probably best that he misses out on this one, that gash looked fairly nastly.
