I hate these type of ones, I had a chat after a game with the ref for the U15's team I take, our player was taken late in the box but got his shot away. His response was that the player got the shot away, I question him about what if that happened outside the box, it would be classed a late challenge and would be a foul so what is different, he shrugged and said it is what it is To be what happened to Longstaff was a late challenge, irrespective of what happened later. Again I would love to know what VAR said to justify the decision or are they hiding behind the "clear and obvious error" nonsense.

Being mic'd up doesn't guarantee the correct decision, as this weekend's rugby showed with the English player's ban actually getting overturned upon review. However, I think it will improve decision making and could be a good educational tool if/when things go wrong.

The main change id like to see is them being mic’d up, no hiding bad decisions then. Would have loved to have heard how they reached the conclusion they did on Friday evening ?

Seeing Brennan Johnson again today he has a lot of quality about him, I think he would fit right in. Be nice to see another* Welshman in our squad..

I do wonder if we can/or want to pull off that true "marquee" signing. Obviously Bruno was massive for us especially at the time but probably not the one to full turn heads of others. Champions League football would be huge but I think we will fall short of that given current form. Either way what a ride we are in for the next few years.

Up until recently when he has been on the pitch for us he has been massive, if his current form continues long term I would also be happy to see him drop down to third choice next season, like the poster above says whether he would be happy with that is a whole other thing. As fond as I am of this current team for us to push on to the next level I think we will need to be pretty ruthless, it will be tough as we need to also keep the team spirit, should be a very interesting summer window.

Yeah would be even better if we could get the win with them at pretty much full strength, although obviously the win is the most important thing.

I read Howe was suggesting it was a yellow, imagine that, the other way around, we would be furious. I think the red would be easier to accept if missing the final wasn’t the case….

I agree with this, maybe slightly differ on Pope, clearly an instinctive move after his messed up but stops an almost certain goal I suppose if that was a against us we’d be calling for heads. That being said gutted on a number of levels that Pope is missing the final.. hope this doesn’t effect him long term as things like this can get in your head for sure…
