  1. You really are a joyless c***, enjoy it while you can man. After the match I received a call from like 4 or 5 lads, thrilled and inviting me to go to Lisbon's downtown to celebrate. Very calmly I explained to them why we were going to lose in the Final and how we had no chance. And I remembered them all of our lost finals and how we used to believe back then also before we played them. 5 minutes ago the girlfriend from one of them called me asking what the hell did I say to him, seems like he went to the bedroom alone since we talked. Lol All the best in the Final Jotenko, the better team won last night
  2. It has been amazing, can be nothing but proud of what we achieved. We haven't got enough quality to deal with missing players like Ramsey and Ben Davies. Neither team were great last night but Portugal based on last nights performance deserved to qualify. Shout out to all the fans who travelled out to France over the past month or so, fantastic support like the majority of fans across Europe.
  3. I revise my statement after watching Kanu's goal with Titanic Music in the background it's hands down a winner. I was screaming at him to pass the ball to Taylor ffs.
  4. I could watch all the goals over and over again on loop. I can't decide what was my favourite. Robson Kanu's or Vokes. Obviously the skill involved in Kanu's was superb but just love Vokes type of goals. That took some scoring and a certain Toon legend would have been proud of that. Class night. Couldn't even have a beer as I got a 10k assault course today... School boy error.
  5. Never been so nervous watching a game of football. Amazing performance from the lads again. Gutted about the ones suspended especially Ramsey obviously.
  6. Not sure what to do for the Bet365 offer. I am tempted to bet with the heart and do Wales 1-0 or Wales win or even a Bale first scorer and cover the 0-0 with Betfair at 7/1???
  7. Yeah there will obviously be sales, it's inevitable with the players we have and the contracts they have, so you are right more incoming are needed. As long as we buy replacements I'm not too arsed on losing anyone, though Townsend would probably be my last sale on any list of our players.
  8. I think it's showing intent. The message is that we are a prem club, and we fully intend on returning straight back up. We will be looking at these guys as players we intend to continue to use when we hopefully return to the prem, so from that point of view it makes sense. Also, the reality is that doubling his wages and bringing him in is still cheaper than keeping most of th elot we have and continuing to pay them what we already do. I would imagine this is what Rafa is selling to them. I am not buying you as a Championship player but a Premiership player. Don't know anything about the GK so can't comment but both Ritchie and Gayle have proved they can do it in the Premiership.
  9. Other than selling Townsend this has gone too well, but even with that it seems Ritchie is in as a direct payment, there seems like a plan in place. It is good we are identifying targets and getting it done with little fuss. Look at the length of the threads compared to the saga's the previous years. There will be some kickers with player sales I know that, but outside Mitro, Perez and Mbemba I wouldn't be too fussed on losing anyone else. I still retain hope that Wijnaldum could come good, he has the talent the question mark is over his heart. I am always nervous about being too optimistic over Newcastle there is always a kick in the cock around the corner.
  10. I'd be happy to see him go but part of me still feels that there is a player in there somewhere. If anyone can get the best out of him surely its Rafa, Rafa won't take no nonsense from him either so if he was being cock I don't think Rafa would think twice in benching him.
  11. Happy with the contribution he made, one of the players who stood up in the end when others lost their heart. Had he not said a word I don't think many would be bothered if he left, however, because of what he and his father has been saying it feels like a kick in the teeth, especially as it is Palace. They seem to have a bit of cash so Pardew may have been able to sell him a vision Like someone has said with Ritchie and Gayle in place of him we should be stronger for it?
  12. The guy who gets Xisco and Isco mixed up is my favourite noticed that too FFS what are they like. Ritchie will soon become Bournemouth's shittest player last year.
  13. Signing a player and another having a medical before the transfer window is even open. I am not happy with this, where has our preparation and consideration into preparing a potential bid been, also, why haven't we offered £3m or £4m under the selling clubs asking price. Madness! *Would be delighted with this signing especially if we keep Townsend.
  14. Because he knew the state we were in when he joined. It's not like we fell from grace. So to come in then f*** off half a year later is a bit shitty. He wasn't even training with the first team before we bought him. But the agreement was clearly 'come in and keep us up, if you don't, we'll let you go for £X'. That amount has apparently been met. We didn't keep up our side of the bargain, I don't see why he should be looked down upon for not sticking with us. Don't get me wrong, hopefully the Rafa effect is enough to want him to give it a shot in the shitlands, but I won't blame him if it isn't, given the general state of our club. I would fully understand him going and would have fully expected it once relegation was confirmed. I would be frustrated and gutted if he does leave after the stuff coming out from him and his dad about wanting to stay. Though at the time he may have let his heart rule his head and when he's actually thought it through thinks its a bad move for him to stay.
  15. Yeah not too bothered about the £10 price tag, they paid a lot for him, hasn't done too bad when given a run in the Premiership, when you factor in the "English tax" it is about standard. I would rather £10m on him that £10-£12m on McCormack. If we get him and keep the other strikers I would be happy with that. Just hope Gayle coming doesn't mean Townsend going
  16. We do have a decent chance but need a Russia type performance rather than yesterday's to progress.
  17. Take it that you won't be having lamb for lunch today Boyo...
  18. Awful game of football, awful performance from Wales but we are through I'll take that. Jonathan Williams looked sharp when he came on, hope he gets away from Pardew sometime soon and he'll have half a chance.
  19. Lets hope we continue being lucky. I'll take that luck every game Cracking performance last night, helped out by a disgraceful Russian performance. Still gutted about that injury time winner last Thursday but if someone gave me that scenario before it started I would take top of the group every time. Encouraging thing is I think Ramsey and Allen have been a bit ahead of Bale so far in the tournament, but his presence alone is massive.

The German with 19 on her shirt, oh my word!!!!! *As if I would turn down the others
  21. Nervous now it's match day. Wish our form coming into this was a bit better but I think the players will focus better now we are here.
  22. Feel for Townsend, I thought he would go given he is a different winger to what they have and seemed to be in favour of Hodgson, however, from a Newcastle point of view (as long as he stays) then injury and there is not going to be a problem.
  23. We did seem to be on TV a lot last time. No doubt we are the biggest draw followed by Villa so I expect we will be on quite a bit next season.
  24. Rafa signing an updated contract with us goes to show how big a draw we actually are. Getting him in the first place was massive especially given our predicament at the time, retaining him after relegation just goes to show the potential we have. One of the best managers in the world with a proven pedigree managing in the 2nd tier of English football. I'm not even worry about him being messed around as I am sure the delay has been him making sure Mike's assurances/promises are iron clad. Him and his back room staff won't be on the cheap either so Mike sacking them on whim doesn't seem like an option either. This is weird, I actually find myself optimistic about us
