Thank fuck I checked back to this thread while Bill Hill was loading up May have saved myself £20. Surely the job is untenable for McClaren??? Who knows with this lot

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/our-recent-derby-wins.1201922/ Is this a massive whoosh or something???
  4. I think it was a lazy link to be honest. Not sure if Arsenal are in a position to sell to be honest. Even though Monreal is ahead of him I can't think of any cover they have. Makes no sense for Arsenal even if it does for the player. Any agree with whoever said Remy now and Berahino later, even though I'm not convinced by him, hopefully Remy would hit the ground running. Looked like he lacked sharpness when he came on V Arsenal the other day, but that's understandable.
  5. Wouldn't mind Gibbs here at all, a big upgrade on all our options at left back and obviously we are desperate anyway. Regarding Berahino, I'm not sure he would be the answer to our problems anyway. Apart from a purple patch or two has he ever been that good like a £20m striker good?

Fuck me one less horse for a mag to sit on as well
  7. Can't comment on the atmosphere for the last game but sounded decent enough in patches throughout the game. The Belgium match was special though, I think being an evening kick off, Friday and massive opponents it was always going to be pumped. There was an air of expectation on Sunday, I would say the majority of Wales were expecting to be celebrating qualification. As it turns out it was a pretty dire weekend if you take into the account the rugby injuries we suffered, the draw and then Belgium scoring a late winner. As I said earlier the point we need should be a given seeing who our last opponent is!
  8. I think that was probably down to the fact that most of us was expecting Wales to qualify yesterday, a natural low given what we were expecting. The way I look at it we need a point from 2 games one of which is Andorra and quite frankly if we can't secure a point we don't deserve to qualify. We were poor apart from the first 20/25 minutes then we run out of ideas. Having no decent centre forward doesn't help. The rankings are a joke by the way I think we would have been 4th had we won last night which is ridiculous to be fair. We are a good team with one exceptional player and another very very good one in Ramsey. Nothing more nothing less.

    Steve McClaren

However unlikely an equaliser was today, I still had hope right up until the end that we could. This surprised me as last season if we went behind I would lose all hope let alone being a man down. Would have liked to see Perez on a tad earlier, Thauvin looked wrecked 2nd half I was pleased with the subs... Fucking ref...
  10. Bellamy against Feynoord in the last group game of the CL got my biggest reaction of pure joy.
  11. Watching Man City here and thinking where Dr Bruyne will fit in. Then again it's a long season.
  12. The more I think of it the more silly it would seem to sell Cisse and replace him with Austin or someone else. He's scored goals throughout most of his Newcastle career. Much rather bust the bank for another defender and possibly a winger.. Cisse, Mitrovic and Perez, with De Jong being able to play up there seems OK to me especially when we have more pressing areas.
  13. How the fuck did the ref miss the keeper using his hands then
  14. Fuck I think palace just scored a set penis to someone at the back post and scored...

So much Surely Ryan Oneill is taking the piss? There really are people in the world like this isn't there?

    Florian Thauvin

I'm not saying this is the case but it surely would make sense if it was, why waste time negotiating with a club and putting a finance package together if the player has no intention of signing for us. You would think logically if Thauvin was that dead set against us at the start of the window we would have moved along elsewhere? Unless its a "we tried" situation?
  17. Surely that leaves only Barcelona and Real Madrid then? Without the need to debate. I guess that's down to opinion. But they are certainly two . As Man U stand vs. Bayern, it would be a step down for much more money. I guess that's also what many people would say if he went to Man City. (In fairness to them, in the past four seasons, Man City have gone 1st 2nd 1st 2nd) If football success terms then certainly there are better option than Man Utd at the moment, but has is size of the club and standing in world football Man Utd are part of top 4, I would probably go Barcelona, Real, Man Utd, Bayern, of course that's just a matter of opinion. I think the first three there especially sign any top level player in the world it wouldn't be a complete shock. But can see what you mean from better clubs at the moment obviously Man City and Chelsea in the Premier League alone are better than Man Utd, I suppose the point I am making if those teams were equal in success and offered a player the exact same terms IMO 8/10 Man Utd would be chosen, unless the said player had a particular hardon for London
  18. Surely that leaves only Barcelona and Real Madrid then?
  19. Based on nothing at all, this is been the most excited I have been about a signing in a while. You get the impression if this guy hits the ground running he can be a major asset for us and will obtain cult hero status. One last test though is if he can eat an apple while riding a bike???
  20. I don't think anyone I have talked to seems to think that Wijnaldum will transform us. Most of us still think we are fucked without decent defensive signings and a decent striker. Some people will lap that up. Hopefully Georginio can help us lose 4-3 because we'd much rather that wouldn't we.
  21. I do feel Pardew has had an easy ride due to his nationality from a lot of the media and from pundits especially. Of course the media are not going to call someone a dirty foreigner, that is me just being a tad dramatic. Are those managers you mention the most popular? I am not saying that they are not the most popular but what are you basing that opinion on? Is McClaren the most loathed manager in history according to the media, I must have missed this one? He was called names like "Wally with the Brolly", but since then he's rebuilt his reputation somewhat and has been spoken about favourably by the media, of course that is just my opinion.
  22. You would think so, but does he have an advantage of not being a cunt off the field, probably is a model pro and considered one of the veterans of the squad, I don't think McClaren will bomb him out but I do think he will drop down the pecking order even if we don't sign any other centre halves. I feel if Lescelles has a good pre season it will be him and Colo as our first choice pair. Someone mentioned Evans or Shawcross earlier and even though they wouldn't be ideal it would be a vast improvement on what we have. I am assuming Haidara and Dummett are our LB options this season. That defence as it stands worries me a lot.
  23. Sometimes I feel only a monumental failure as an England manager is what it will take for the media to see this bloke for what he is. He gets English protection, if a foreign manager behaved in the way Pardew has or even had half a bad a season he would have been labelled a dirty foreigner. I would love to see him fail as England manager but for that to happen he would probably need to be successful as Palace manager and that would be painful to watch.
  24. There you go: Does appear to be him. And he can't turn back now. He's crossed the line. What could possibly go wrong :)
