Taylor looks petrified in that photo......

Could set a precedent. Should merge the Williamson & Elliot threads next. What a pit of despair that thread would be.. We should go all out and merge Carver and Pardew and then Ashley and Charnley :(

I'm not convinced by Austin but I am not bothered about the £15m fee, its pretty much the going rate these days, when £40m-£50m is being mentioned for Kane and Sterling £15m seems reasonable, more reasonable a gamble than £10m on a Championship player. Austin has done what Deeney has done in the Championship and has had a good season in the Premiership with a shit team, on paper even shitter than us. Why oh why did I let myself get optimistic. It is early doors yet but I've been one of the ones in the past who has banged on about its only mid June blah blah blah, its only 3 weeks since the end of the season blah blah blah, maybe if I am as negative as I have ever been about the club good stuff will happen A lot of our plans at the moment is think low and we will not be disappointed but I got the feeling that thinking low will still bring us despair. Awful set of affairs, I don't care if I am overreacting we've been here too many times before. I really want McClaren to do well, he seems an ok bloke and a good coach but he's got so many barriers to overcome.

Love an ITK twitter bint. So sexy. She actually is as well https://twitter.com/EDS_Amy?lang=en-gb Well fit. Hope she is right about Williamson. Me too, however, her latest tweet about Tevez and West Ham is just laughable. Then again she could probably stand in front of me and tell me Pardew and Carver are the best thing since sliced bread and I would give a toss, she's well fit
-
I agree with this, however, as someone mentioned earlier I feel that the article is more a dig about the club and its relationship with the media rather than McClaren fully. I could be wrong. The last two sentences of the NUFC.com article sums my feelings on McClaren up nicely.

We refused to pay £15m in the past 3 years on PEA & Lacazette now we are going to pay that for Austin? Not convinced that we will and certainly not convinced he is worth that amount. Then again as has been said you dont get a great deal for £10m or less most the time now. I've bought what Mike is selling I don't think for one minute that Mike will splash the cash or at least that amount of cash. I'm pretty certain nothing will change regarding the club apart from maybe telling the fans and the media that the FA Cup is something that interests us whilst making little or no effort to actually do well. Fair play to their policy, ignoring the cups was a sterling idea last season wasn't it

Minimum wage with end of sales season bonus...

£15 million is a bit pricey in my opinion for Austin, however, I'd rather spend a £15m gamble on him than £6m on a Riviere type signing. Austin/Cisse/Perez is decent, could be really good if we would provide the service to them.

I'd be a lot more confident of the Mclaren appointment if all the old regime are gone and he brings in his own people. How John Carver can stay at the club after what happened I do not know. Even he must look back and see how pathetic it was. He will stay out of greed and pride and that he will probably struggle to get a high profile job elsewhere, so he will be on assistant manager salary while just being a regular coach, hopefully he won't be able to cope with the demotion and piss off into retirement or go and fluff for Pardew!!
-
As a squad filler fine, I don't have a particular hatred for him he's not the worse player to pull on the kit for us, no way should he be an automatic starter but seemed under both Carver and Pardew he was first name on the team sheet. As back up next season that would be fine but we all know that's not going to happen, unless injured or suspended or rested for "meaningless" cup games he will get picked every game. I don't go along with the fact that he hid either, he's a limited player but I do think he goes out there no matter what colours he has on to win a game. Go on the Ginger Pirlo

As if this cretin would walk away from the job if he doesn't know by Wednesday. What a dick the man is. I'd like to think there is no way we would employ him but I also expected a club announcement that his contract would not be renewed not long after the game. Too much wishful thinking from me
-
He's not our worst player but it's telling that our current manager and the cretin before him have built him to be in their heads our most important. By the sounds of it Colback just needs to be 70% fit and he'll play somewhere on the pitch. Would I have liked to see him in the middle yesterday. Yes I would have, would he been an improvement on Jonas and Gouffran, yes he would, however, that would be like saying you know what I'd prefer a broken leg over a broken back. I actually don't hate him and would like to see him as a squad player but with managers like Pardew and Carver that would never happen.
-
Has the potential to throw in the odd good game. At most clubs he wouldn't get a look in. Had Aaron's been fit this season I doubt he would have had much game time, but lets learn from the Shola situation. There is no room for sentiment, he is not good enough to play Premiership football, go to the Championship Sammy and make a half decent career. He was disgraceful yesterday, I think at one point the commentators said "he'd be feeling the hurt more than most today" being a local lad, to be honest he looked and played like he didn't give a flying fuck.
-
It's hardly the crime of the century, however, it does send out the message that he's not really bothered. 9/10 we don't see that as sky camera's were following them but its not as if it even happened naturally, Krul waiting for him and had a beaming smile. Just get to the changing room and listen to the tool talking shit for 15 minutes probably saying stuff like "go out there and make Sir Bobby proud" But as someone said, what Krul did was the least of our problems, I don't care if that was a make shift team it was a piss poor performance with most of the players looking like they didn't give a fuck.

Just seen on twitter them all saying how happy they are going on loan to Rangers.. Put up to it or making a point??
-
But Willo can play at Stoke on a cold Tuesday night.. Fucking joke this deal is, I assume Carr will be spitting feathers over it. Piss poor from Pardew and then for the club for allowing this to happen.
-
That prick McManaman reminds me of that ex Sunderland winger who was a right one on twitter, forget his name now. Look decent at times and then was found out. Still riles me massively that he got away with that challenge, he should be ashamed of himself. Grrrrrr!
-
That and can they play at a cold, wet and windy Stoke on a Tuesday evening
-
That comparison to other British Premier League managers was so cringe worthy, the list was awful why didn't they do a comparison with all managers? Probably because it doesn't fit in with their agenda that Pardew is God and lets all laugh at Newcastle at the moment. I do not regret all the Pardewout stuff at all. We'll be a better club without him. Won't take long for him to be found out at Palace.
-
But and its a big but, he says Ashley is a nice guy if you meet him... Hmmmmm!! Not so sure
-
Just read Monk's comments re the Shelvey charge, how can the FA and any officials have any credibility in charging Shelvey from Monday and not Sterling. I will agree that Sterling's one was not as bad but by the law it was a sending off offence. There is no way the referee didn't see what Shelvey has done so really they shouldn't be allowed to go back to it, Sterling they can't go back to because they have admitted to seeing it, in that case why aren't they taken to task for making an incorrect decision. I hate the inconsistency.
-
How can this still be going on, whoever referenced this as to being unable to flush that little nugget from the pan is spot on.. F5 is being used nearly as much as on Jim White day. Though it would be hilarious if he got binned by Palace and we didn't take him back....
-
The shooooot is so annoying, its not even an ironic one like Jon Jensen at Arsenal, the crowd really want him to shoot. What has he had two really good shots, worse thing is, he is dull enough to play up to the crowd.
-
In today's programme he has also been listing all the Newcastle players/managers loved by fans who are not Geordies saying that it is a myth that we hate southerners and only want Geordies at the club and that we will happily support anyone that does a good job wherever they are from. Think I shall be giving this podcast a listen. I can't believe how lazy the journalism is regarding this hating Southerners. I assume this is purely based on our dislike for Ashley bringing in Dennis Wise and a section of the fans dubbing them Cockney Mafia. I am sure had they been Yorkshire based they would be the Yorkshire mafia or if from my neck of the woods Sheep Shagging Mafia. We dislike/hate the people running our club not where they are from.
