No he wont Maybe not, but I think you get what I was getting at?

It's just a horrible feeling that even if we did sign a centre half and top striker that Pardew is the one leading them. Personnel wise we would look in decent shape with the squad, but this clueless idiot will have Obertan in his starting line up because he did well once in a pre-season friendly.
-
That article said Santon, Ben Arfa and12million. That would be one of the most crazy transfers ever. Think I would love to see it as there is a good chance Balo would beat the crap out of Pardew within a few months
-
Its an amazing gesture to be fair. Goes to show the vast majority of football fans are good honest people. Just a pity the scum element in the football world gives football a bad name at times.
-
Some fans are idiots though. Some think that spending the bare minimum to have a squad shows that Mike Ashley now "gets it" that person needs to get a grip. I am pleased so far with our spending however, we still have Pardew to ruin them and still look short of a few players.

Gutted I only put £2 on Belgium win, Brazil draw, Russia draw. Should have gone for £5 would have won me just under a ton. Won an in play bet on Belgium to score before 80 mins after about 60 mins into the game.
-
Just put a cheeky £2 on him at 8/1... Come on Shola you knacker...

As much as I hate Pardew relegation would ruin us. We got very lucky last time around, the division was pretty poor and we were able to hold on to our better players for varying reasons. I wouldn't count on us bouncing back right away this time, and would Ashley really be able to sell for anywhere near what he would want if we got relegated? So one wish may be fulfilled with Pardew being sacked but who knows what moron he would employ after Pardew.
-
This signing a few years ago probably would have excited us someone, but given what Pardew and Ashley have given us over the past few seasons there is so much apathy about this signing. The poor lad is being written off because of our clown of a manager. I really hope this lad gets a chance to develop probably not spend a year in our development squad, then to be mis-used when needed in the first team and then written off by management as a mistake and then loan the bastard to Doncaster.

I'd rather rely on Armstrong as back up. Clubs are not frightened to throw in the kids at times why should we be.
-
Grand, I look forward to our assault on 8th place with an inferior squad than last year with a wonderful forward thinking manager - it's not his fault mind FFS I don't know why I keep on coming on the forum it is depressing me even more with this regular reminder that complete and utter tossers are in charge of our club
-
I wonder what percentage of probability that would be to get relegated if we beat Cardiff that day. Maybe someone can ask that at the fan forum next time around. So depressing. Why support a team if we have no aim to win things? I love the way they say the priority is the Premier League? To do what in the Premier League? They didn't specify that did they. Finish in the Top 10. To be fair they did say top 10 minimum :( (excuse me while I go spit the sick out of my mouth) To think some people are pacified by this shit?

I've always like Deportivo - but that could be a bit more painful than supporting us.

Thing is the league cup especially is something that we have the most realistic chance of winning. The bigger clubs do not take it as seriously as the FA Cup, a club in our position should decide to go all out for that competition each year. The FA Cup I believe there is a less chance of winning but just look at the sides that have got to finals the last few years or even Semi Finals. If we had a board that gave a toss you wouldn't see it as a massive shock if we got to a cup final. Its only the League Cup but I would be ecstatic if we won the thing, since I have supported Newcastle I have not seen us lift a meaningful trophy, it would be the world to me to celebrate the glory of winning a cup, yet the cretins in control our club are ensuring that won't happen.
-
I don't know anyone who supports him. I know a few who were prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt after last season but every single one now wants the prick turfed. Said it before but the worm hasn't turned it's doing f***ing somersaults. I am a non-local and I want shot of this cretin. Sick and tired of some having sympathy for "what he has to put up with". This joker knew exactly what he was getting in to. If he had to put up with all these issues the board throw at him why hasn't he spoken up, why hasn't he criticised them for the lack of backing in the past two transfer windows? Because even if he is against the policy he doesn't want to jeopardise his position. Lets face it, the only way he would be sacked is if he openly criticised the club. The club could have got rid of him after the headbutt, probably without having to pay any compensation, if they were ever going to sack him that would have been the time.

Shepherd has much a greedy fucking cretin he was at least you knew he wanted us to be successful. At least during his era we dreamed that we could win things. Surely that what sport is all about. Maybe you know what your ceiling is but you strive to beat that. Look at the World Cup most Of England supporters and players/officials/management know the likelihood is they won't win the thing yet they will go to Brazil with the intention of winning. Hodgson has said he's unwilling to put a target of where they would be happy to reach because he is aiming to win it. Ok deep down heart on heart he probably thinks it will take some to win it but he is going out that and trying to inspire his players and legions of football fans. What do our board set out to do? What are they hoping to achieve, to get us all excited that we are going to pass financial fair play? Look at the rollercoster the Mackems were on last season. Yes they flirted with relegation far too closely but it was a memorable season for them, they tuned us twice. They went to Wembley and came close to winning a major trophy, they had another good cup run. When everybody told them that they were fucked, they believed and push hard to stay up. Who had the more memorable season maybe they were a lot of negatives in there but they tried, they tried to win things.. Someone mentioned apathy, it's a horrible way to feel about the club you've loved for so long. But I understand why fully..

I actually wouldn't mind Bertrand, whenever I have seen him he has been decent enough, can't see it busting the bank either. Then again with Cole going may Mou will want to keep him as back up and fulfills the home grown quota? Not exactly inspiring but a sound signing. Won't take long for him to be Pardewed either.

A couple of work colleagues (bear in mind I live in Swansea) have come up to me this morning and said "to be fair 10th is not a bad season for you" FFS this is what angers me, fair enough outsiders thinking this but some of our own fans think 10th is some kind of badge of honor. Look at that story of Brendan Rogers reading the Liverpool fan's letter, he didn't want to settle for CL he wanted to dream for the title ok they fell short but they punched above their weight and achieved more than was expected. The season we finished 5th even though at times some of the football was poor at least we had something to aim for to dream about. Even Pardew gave us a chance of a CL spot, if we had done that we would have achieved far more than we set out to do that season. I hate the attitude that 10th is ok, that it's something to reward. 10th is bare minimum not an indicator that we have had a good season. Rogers was telling his players by reading that letter out that he wants to achieve more, whilst Pardew spends the week before a big match talking about the gulf in class and spending power etc, if we are picked to play Man City at the Eithad at the start of next season I want a manager in place that goes there with the attitude I want to take something away from here, not the attitude of it doesn't matter because we are expected to lose anyway. 1st half yesterday showed the players are somewhat capable of putting in a performance that can cause problems for the opposing team, honestly I don't know how much of that was a plan from Pardew or the players stepping up their performance, but at least 1st half they was a bit of belief about our play. At least for 30 mins or so I forgot how much a cretin Pardew is an I quickly went from the attitude of I want Pardew sacked to I want to win this game, pretty much as soon as the 2nd half started the belief went again and was hoping that Pardew would do something to Dowd so that he would surely get sacked this time.
-
Was thinking the same. At last some responsibility for his shitness but of course there is someone/something else to blame. How can this man still be in a job?
-
Why am I semi excited about this, I know nothing about the guy other that what I have learned the past few pages and that St Eitenne have had a good season. I suppose I am caught up in the fact that this guy is not Pardew. L'Equipe don't normally throw around much toss so could be a bit to this?
-
Unfortunately if the club had any appetite to sack Pardew they would have done it after the Meyler incident? So frustrating.
-
This myth about us is so frustrating. People think we expect transfer records to be broken etc... We don't, we actually criticised the last regime for the expensive signings of players such as Owen and Luque, we just want ambition showed. We don't want our manager telling us that 8th -10th is our ceiling. Look at Martinez at Everton, they were massive outsiders for CL qualification but still that's what Martinez spoke about throughout the season. Surely most people's ambitions is to get above what is considered par. Golfers don't aim for par, they are ok with it but they always aim for more. Our manager believes success is achieving the bar minimum. Media have lauded Pardew for the "improvement" this season compared to last, however, they never seem to acknowledge how much of a fuck up Pardew was last season. With the squad available to him we should have never struggled like we did regardless of the EL games. So annoying that this guy is still around and very likely to still be around next season
-
If Colback was a back up he probably would be a more useful squad member than Gosling, however, he'd probably become a midfield mainstay under the tactical genius of Pardew. I notice Aaron Hunt is on that free transfer list he's been on our "radar" in the past hasn't he?
-
Based on not being Pardew by any chance? Like a few others I'm almost of the opinion anyone but... However, I think some of us may underestimate the amount of fuckwittery Mike Ashley is capable of..... :-(
