  1. The letter that BeIN sent to the PL and other clubs basically saying the takeover should be blocked (with their £500m PL license negotiation about to be up for renewal) was pretty real like. The PL might have used other excuses but this was a massive reason behind it, if not the only reason then by far the biggest IMO.
  2. Any changes would have no barring on arbitration or any legal case that is focused on something that happened before those changes.
  3. In what way? Yeah not particularly enlightening IMO. She doesn't really seem to have her finger on the pulse of what's gone on to be honest. "If they [Premier League] had ongoing dialogue with PIF within a reasonable timeframe its difficult to prove they delayed the test".. What gives her the impression this was a reasonable time frame? I mean its to be proven either way obviously but she's saying that as if it seems very likely it was reasonable, which it doesn't at all. Wether it was or wasn't looking in from the outside, going by all previous OD tests, it looks excessively long in the extreme. That's before we even talk about info we've heard about the question they were asking being answered numerous times and still asked again repeatedly. Now people can say the answer might not have been acceptable to the PL, but the response to that is to make a decision based on that unacceptable answer. Not to just keep repeating the question again and again, that's absolutely a delaying tactic in anybody's book.
  4. Courts and judges also a waste of time because sometimes the wrong decision is made?
  5. Kicks him twice, no pen and commentators universally agree, bizarre.
  6. Sorry, I don't get what you mean with your second sentence. Can you expand on that at all? Basically, Mimms' 'source' reckons LK is getting info from a certain someone, who in turn is getting it directly from Staveley. Are you talking about Wraith here? So Wraith, the ultimate self promoting gobshite, is keeping quiet and giving his info to someone else to gain themselves credit at his expense? Now either Wraith is deeply in love with Kennedy or this is bollocks.
  7. I’m sure if the bid is still on the table they can’t just change the rules ffs Im sure they can tbh citing the PIF public withdrawal PIF are not the consortium, they can't assume a process ends based on a portion of its funding. Especially considering arbitration has already started. I mean either way they can change the rules at any time. But that doesn't change any court action, in fact it may help any case against them.
  8. Everyone is saying no to it, but the Saudi takeover shows most will ignore their moral conscience when it suits. Why should it just be based on morality though? I don't even understand how people could truly enjoy victory if they knew its all rigged in there favour anyway.
  9. again, what were you expecting? As far as I can tell it’s all going to plan. Also it’s been confirmed De Marco is involved in a legal battle with the PL from what I can see the man works wonders. but aye this all might take a good while which is very frustrating It's not really a direct result of todays, erm, news. It's just the whole thing seems a f***ing mess and this is just adding to it, I have been pesimistic for a while basically because we don't get good things, and this farce isn't making me feel much better about it. Not sure where everyone is getting the confidence from tbh. If I heard something from NDM about how his work is coming along, I'd probably feel different but this other stuff is being played out far too publically which never ends well. Fair enough. I don't get the idea that it's somehow a farce. This is a legal battle against a incredibly stubborn entitled organisation. It was never going to be straight forward or cordial. They seem to be trying to create a overwhelming legal storm. If its correct that the fans group are working with club and buyer approval, which seems pretty certain. That's never going to be pretty, but might work. Masters might run out of flop sweat blocker and just settle for fear of dying of dehydration.
  10. How can they possibly have more confidence than when they said "its a matter of days away". 6 months ago. That line is an obvious lie. While everyone would like to believe what these "sources" are hinting at, their track record is abysmal. Why should we believe these people now, honestly? All I can see is them pulling out of legal action citing time constraints or some other excuse (they've already laid the groundwork for this). I'd be amazed if this goes anywhere. Who said anything about 6 months ago?, you're stating something as a lie based on vague assumptions.
  11. Why does anyone even reply to that moron Penn? He's one of those idiots who plays the sensible realist when in reality he's the most delusional on here.
  12. He never gave a s*** for 13 years, but now he's staying because he seems to give a s***? More logical that he is trying to go out looking good and also getting a snide attack in at the PL at the same time. Probably the second bit is most important to him.
  13. I don't see how it's shameful to question someone's motives. Whether it's Khashoggis girlfriend or anyone else. People have opinions, disagree with them but stop trying to cut them off by labelling them shameful or indecent.
  14. Who has been voted into power to create this super league thing like?
  15. I'm not sure I completely understand how the current system is forcing lower league clubs to go broke to be honest. As far as I'm aware overspending is endemic down there and it's down to mismanagement and poor regulation. Poor business fundamentals and the pandemic are killing them, this would be killing them even if they were getting a bigger slice of the premier leagues money. Absolutely, if they'd received 25% of the current PL TV deal a few years ago, they'd all have raised their revenues by the same amount in a attempt to compete with each other and the PL clubs. So they'd still be right on the profit/loss line now and still fucked by the sudden drop in income.
  16. So basically he's saying the league structure is fucked so lets accept removing actual competition from Football so that Football clubs (of which the entire point is competition) can survive. Fucking tosser.
  17. Another way to look at it is its a signal that they aren't willing to keep talking for months with no resolution. If they believe the PL are just trying to waste time again then serious legal proceedings will start. At that point the PL lose ultimate control over the timescale and also risk financial loss and also loss of face if some of the shite they've been pulling is exposed in court. Also I think Ashlety is exactly the kind of person who would take this as far as he can even without the current buyers. He's offended easily and holds grudges, I'm sure he's never been told he cant sell something he owns before and he's fucking furious about it.
  18. You're acting like we have a choice in the matter, there's no way we'd even be considered for one Certainly not. We'd have no choice. I'm just saying what I'd rather. I see absolutely no appeal in following a team in a league that means nothing, unless we could get promoted to that new top level. I don't get how the domestic league would suddenly mean nothing. To me this European super league would mean nothing. Knowing that it's 100% about glitz and glamour to squeeze every last penny out of glory supporters around the world to the absolute detriment of the clubs core support would be a bridge to far for me. The Premier League is already terrible for it. But to see a league that takes that to its furthest conclusion would make it pointless to me and I'd have no interest watching NUFC in it even under new owners.
  19. When I was actually interested in NUFC outside of a potential takeover I did watch every Premier League game that was shown. I mean NUFC was the only club I gave a shite about, but these other clubs were all competitors so I still enjoyed watching their matches.
  20. Every club is heavily reliant on TV money, just a matter of degrees. If theoretically you completely remove all TV money our revenue would drop from £176m to about £60m (still higher than most Championship clubs total revenue including TV money). But some current PL clubs would be getting as little as £25m if all TV money was removed (Norwich revenue would drop from £126m to £30m). Of course as you mention our commercial revenue should, and could be so much higher as well. With owners who actually want to succeed. Obviously TV money isn't going to disappear, just looking purely at how reliant clubs are on that revenue.
  21. We didn't earn Championship money when we were in the Championship so no I don't think we would in this situation either. Other clubs would. But I think over time things would change. Fans dwindling from these super league clubs would inevitably mean TV money dwindling in the long term. While the teams left in a genuine competitive domestic league would slowly grow. Long term I agree they'd want to rejoin. Just my opinion but I think the entire idea of a super league is flawed and would fail long term I think over 50% of the tv money is for the overseas deals. I have a strong suspicion this is to watch Man U, Liverpool etc. Imho we would see a massive reduction of money in the English game should the top 6 form a European super league. Sadly we’ve created a league where money is all that counts. Even if they were to leave this wouldn’t change that fact it would just lead to an inferior product. Its about 40% of total TV money. Obviously I agree that kind of reduction in TV money would have a big effect on the English game overall. But even if we assume the entire revenue from overseas TV disappeared (which I'm sure it wouldn't, just a very large reduction) that would still leave NUFC earning £126m, which is more than some Premier League clubs earn now and about twice what a top Championship club gets. Basically what I'm saying is some clubs are more reliant on TV money than others and luckily for NUFC (if you even give a shit under current ownership) we're one of the least reliant. As shown in our Championship seasons when we still came out with more money than some Premier League clubs at the time. Also should be remembered that, as much as they whine, the top 6 clubs received nearly 40% of total TV rights money last season.
