Did Sky do the fanzone commentary for the Sunderland game? I'd love to see that.. I'd also love to see the same for the Spurs game come to think of it..
-
Villa didn't spend £50 million on players, then again they also weren't close to relegation last season like Man City were I suppose. I certainly wouldn't say Sven's been a failure at this point but he has made some pretty big mistakes. Have not followed that closely, what were his big mistakes? He bought Rolando Bianchi for about £9 million (?) and then ended up loaning him out to Lazio only 6 months later. Also he bought Felipe Caicedo for £5 million and the lad hasn't been considered good enough to start a game yet.. Like I said it would be harsh to consider him a failure just because of a poor second half to the season, but he has made a couple of mistakes that might have pissed Shiniwatra off a bit.
-
Who? Never heard of him Bit unecessarily harsh if those quotes are true. The only quotes there are "win trophies" and "play for a club at the bottom".. misguided comments IMO considering he's talking about mickey mouse trophies but not exactly harsh. Everything else there is the work of which ever cunt wrote the article.

but Souness bought Boumsong, Luque and Babayaro! Souness bought also Owen, Solano and Parker (who was superb in his first season)! Allardyce also bought Beye, Enrique, Faye and the ever improving Viduka and Barton, overall much better group of signings then the three you mentioned. I agree he's still a s*** manager of course.
-
Allardyce was terrible, but at least he brought in the likes of Beye, Enrique and Faye (and to a lesser extend Barton and Viduka). Souness got rid of our best players and the only player he brought in who's ended up being worth anything to us was Owen (who was injured the whole time he was manager anyway). I think we were generally more clueless as a team with Allardyce here, but we were pretty hopeless with Souness as well.. so just because of the few good players Allardyce signed I'm going to have to vote for Souness as the worst manager of the last 15 years.

Surely its not just about money though, if playing Premiership Football isn't a big part of his decision then I hope he stays where he is..

What on earth are you on about? What does caring about a sport and making already overpaid people even more overpaid have to do with each other? Do you think having an ad break every 2 minutes during a game equals caring about the sport I think these players get enough don't you?...
-
Why on earth would the team with the two best keepers in the league need a new keeper? Also Enrique has to be our first choice left back, so Riise would be a poor signing (he'd want to play every game and he's just not that good). Basically this is the same shit the papers have been banging on about for the last month or so, I wish they'd get some new ideas..
-
Are they even filling there current stadium though? Also I thought player transfer fee's weren't fully included in these kind of accounts?
-
Yes the debts are managable, but at what point do they actually reduce those debts? Surely they want to do that at some point.

Lets not forget this one: "The man is a total clown and way out of his depth. when we get relegated it will al be down to him, not big sam because guaranteed we would have picked up more points under him than Keegan in the last 10 games. It was an utter joke appointing him in the first place and a monumental f*** up waiting to happen. all of us who forecast this when he was appointed it is all coming to fruition. The first time he was here it was his tactical ineptness which cost us winning the league now its his total ineptness and unawareness which will eventually relegate us Keegan do the honorable thing and f*** OFF back to your circus you totally clueless piece of s***" http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=50747.msg1234892#msg1234892

no he didnt, just better times. Glory doesn't necessarily mean winning a trophy.. Surely its obvious this isn't just about two games.. It just so happens that those two games (along with the point at Birmingham) have ended the worry of relegation. Most people have been excited about what Keegan could achieve with Ashley's money since he arrived, but that excitement has had to go on hold while we were in real trouble of relegation.
-
I think Keegan could convince him that with the money he has to spend we'll be in Europe next season and pushing for Champions League for the next few seasons. Also he'll be able to offer him something the likes of Liverpool may not be able to, first team Football every week. Its definitely a possibility IMO.

He wasn't suggesting that Flamini would come to Newcastle. He was saying that if Flamini left Arsenal then it may be more difficult to get Diaby because he may start to get a game much more often for Arsenal.
-
Those step overs only make one player look silly and that's Ronaldo. He's a very good player but his crazy legs act is so stupid and unnecessary.

teasy...how can i put this ? are you a simple minded mong ?.....no that would be wrong. i'm sorry! ,i'll put it this way. ashley wont get his £129mill back unless he has backed the shares some more cos he bcaked them at a bookies...he didn't buy the shares as such. You might not want to call someone simple minded when you can't even master the most basic grammar. Put it this way, I'd much rather be misinformed then have learning difficulties. As far as I read in the Sun and Mirror (the rags I referred to) he had bought shares. If that's incorrect then whatever, it doesn't really change my point, nor does it warrant that car crash of a post.
-
What I find funny about this whole thing is the massive deal the media have made of it. Ashley has taken a temporary loss of £129 (temporary because the stock can recover) and its on the back page of every fucking rag in the nation. Meanwhile the owner of Spuds makes a loss of £650 million and... not a fucking whisper (unless I missed the Mirror or Sun reporting this, which I doubt).
-
He's only 30 so I'd say he's got another two good seasons in him at least.
-
Firstly, Chopra wasn't worth £5 million, secondly Chopra was on a reasonably long contract (Ameobi has only one year left) and thirdly and finally Alan Smith isn't worth £3 million never mind £6 million. In short Shola isn't worth more then £1 million on his current contract, if we are receiving £5 million for him then, well that's insane business! £3 million initial fee, another £2 million to make it permanent apparently (unless its £3 million initially and a futher £5 million to make it permanent, if that was the case I might just feint).

thing is, it's a good move to get the young american players with potential OUT of the US and into the better levels of competition in england before they atrophy in the weaker US leagues. Also the best bit about it is that they'll grow up in England and will most likely end up playing for England rather then the US Newcastle get good players, England get some more good players and the US don't... win win win.
-
This bloke needs a good kicking, seriously.
-
Sorry, but that's ridiculous. It doesn't work like that. It can though, the fact is we don't need to sell him and IMO we shouldn't sell him to any other Premiership team under any circumstances (unless maybe one of them is willing to offer in the range of £15 million). Someone needs to stand up to these fuckwits eventually (the fuckwits being both agents and there idiot players). IMO he should be told that if he wants to leave he can go abroad if a club meets the full amount of his five year contract plus any signing on fee we gave him when he signed it. If he's not willing to do that then tough, he can stay. After a few months sulking he'll realise his carear is passing him by and ask to play again, its that simple, it just takes anyone at the club to have some balls..

Best player on the pitch in our game against Birmingham.. If he hadn't been playing we'd have beaten them comfortably.
