Kenedy was quite unproven, some people thought he was shit simply because he hadn't gotten any game time. In this case the players had game time and he's about as prolific a goal scorer as Joselu.. I mean he might improve a lot but right now he's a bit shit like.
-
We should be, but we're run by mongs so. EDIT, not that the partnership is bad, but for me the best way to improve is to try to go for someone that can actually give the first team competition. Either that player will be second choice or he'll push one of the first team to second choice, rather than trying to buy someone you know will be second choice.

Aye, just wait until he plays his first game for Sociedad, he'll probably become the next coming of Iniesta over night

Merino started really well but when he came back he didn't look so great. Flashes of quality and potential but that's about it, I think a few still totally overate him based on a few early performances. You're going on as if he was a proven quality player, Ki's actually a far more proven player, especially in this league. I mean if we're looking for backup of course I'd rather have the younger player with potential, but Merino wasn't prepared to be backup and he's shown nowhere near enough to be anything more. We should really be loaning him out until he improved with Ki replacing him until that happens, but this is Mike Ashley's Newcastle.

I had high hopes for Mbemba, and I like Mitrovic. But I won't think twice about either of them if Benitez thinks they aren't good enough. I mean its not like either of them are amazing.. They could both be decent to good players in a system that fitted them or if they could take instruction well enough to fit into our system, that's about it.

Well at least I could move on and forget about NUFC then.

But how would that work? That's £100 per shirt (or 100 Euro's if they're saying 52m Euro's), even if the shirts and name printing brought in that kind of money Juventus certainly wouldn't get all of it, more likely a small fraction.
-
Hate this point. He clearly dosnt want Mitrovic but I also think it’s pretty clear Rondon wouldn’t be near this club either if Rafa was able to get anywhere near his top targets. The reason it’s so underwhelming is that is bargain bin buys loans again. Rafa didn’t want Mitrovic last season and we got Joselu Exactly don’t see why people are struggling with this. There is a reason Rafa has not signed a new contract and this type of signing fully illustrates the reason why he won’t either and will be gone in under 12 months. None of this still changes my original point that if Rafa prefers Rondon over Mitrovic then I'm happy to trust his judgement. Not sure what's hard to grasp about that. Do you not understand NEITHER would be his choice that is the whole point and the reason he won’t be here next year. You’re right it’s not hard to understand a all Rondon is almost certainly not his first choice, but Mitrovic is simply a player he just doesn't want full stop. We also have no idea how far down the list Rondon is and how happy Rafa is about the potential signing. I mean we haven't signed him at all yet so its a bit premature to say that this potential signing is one of the reasons he hasn't signed a new contract.

Still a lot better than last seasons strike force of Gayle and Joselu, at least there'd be one decent Premier League striker in there.

Only sort of makes sense if they're refusing to take the fee in installments, but even then if we're so desperate for cash surely we could borrow £16.5m at less than £2.5m interest (not that we should need to).

His hand goes to the ball, pen.

Why does that complicate anything? If they're willing to sell him now for £30m (inevitably paid over 5-6 years anyway) then what's the difference between that and us paying £5m loan fee now with option to buy at £25m at the end of the season? Might be worth more than £30m at the end of the season Aye but they're perfectly happy to sell now for £30m apparently. If they just weren't willing to sell now and only willing to loan in the hope of his price rising I could understand it, but not in this case. Sounds more like we've just made no effort to get a future fee agreed.

Basically only means that a club can't come in and start negotiating with Chelsea and the first we hear about it is well into discussions. They have to give us the chance right from the start to give them a offer they can accept before any other club gets involved in discussions. For a normal club that actually competes its useful as you can't get blind sighted and get in late when the player might have already decided to go somewhere else. But for us I really can't see how its even relevant, it would only work in situations where we can cast some sort of voodoo on the lad to make him only want to sign for us, otherwise we'll just get outbid anyway.

I think usually its just a case of the amount being specified, with agreement on how its paid having to be made between the clubs (unless full amount is offered of course). But I suppose anything can be put in a contract, would seem unreasonable to allow him to specify how the club is paid his release fee though.

We can definitely demand all the cash up front or no deal.
-
Who have Wolves actually signed?
-
Matt Ritchie (now Technical Director at Bournemouth)
Teasy replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
How good do you think Ritchie is that a player can be a waste of space by comparison but still have done well for us? Anyway, no I wouldn't bother selling a useful squad player for £7-£8m, what's the point? EDIT: Ah ok, you mean Ritchie did well for us. He was excellent in the Championship, but needs upgrading in this league. Also apparently he isn't happy to just be a squad player, so if we can sell for £17-£18m and upgrade for £20m or so I'd do it. Keep the likes of Atsu as a willing squad player. -
Hope we've at least demanded all the cash up front, no reason why we wouldn't I suppose.

Jesus - 80 big ones a week! Stoke will have to go up next season! We paid Shelvy that so that is their gamble We were a Premier League team then! Also Stokes revenue outside of TV money is about half ours so the drop in Premier League money is going to hit them far harder.

To be fair if your mind set as a Footballer is to put a low release clause in every contract. So you can make a easy escape if things don't work out, then you've got the wrong mentality to succeed. At the end of the day I trust the manager.
-
. Nah you do like. Apparently it's a red now just to put your hand into a players face, or push your head into another players head. But running up and hitting someone in the face with your forearm isn't even a yellow in your opinion? The f***er seems to be fooling some people because he does it so casually, he's a good actor like, but the fact is he still runs up and puts his forearm into his face. You can even see the Iranians cheeks shake with the impact.
-
It's ok the just run up to someone and whack your forearm into his face aye?

It was around £9m total as far as I remember.
