  1. They can certainly up our budget a couple of times over, just not as unlimited as Chelsea and Man City's were when they started out. As you say they could artificially inflate sponsorship (as long as its not completely astronomical it'll get past the Premier League) and extend it to other aspects like the stadium to make the deal seem more realistic. Think theirs also a buffer to allow some losses without punishment (?). Also like someone said earlier in the thread more money spent and more success will in turn bring in more cash.
  2. Ah right, well he's mental then because he's not worth £20m never mind more.
  3. He has no business here? What does he mean exactly? Hasn't got the mentality to deal with a big club?
  4. Can't see us being bothered at all about the wages, those numbers are all pretty small fry.
  5. What I mean is that if we should loan a player (I realise it's a good option moneywise to loan) I think we must have the option to buy. Say that Abraham becomes a big success and than we dont have a chance of signing him next season. Then we are back to squere one needing to find a new striker next season. That's fine if you can find the right player on loan with an option to buy. But it seems that player isn't available in Rafa's view and the most important thing is the get the player he thinks is right not the one with an option to buy. I don't really like the idea of loans without an option to buy either. But sometimes its necessary and I wouldn't say it puts us back to square one. Because assuming Rafa gets most of his permanent signings right we'll need far less incomings next season, which means we can focus more time and money on a permanent striker.
  6. Because we've only got a certain amount of money and need a lot of players. It may take a couple of seasons to buy all the players we actually need right now. So instead we'll loan a couple, leaving more cash to spend on the remaining areas we need to cover. Then the following season (hopefully) we'd buy players to replace the loans.
  7. Ah, Huddersfield still "coming for us" eh
  8. Dear god can't believe some Spurs fans are still going on about this £6m fantasy . Total fucking embarrassment, I mean most Spurs fans must cringe at that shit surely.
  9. Even after the Derby game they were still in a decent position (they had a extra game over reading), they followed that up by losing 4-1 to Fulham and losing third place, they shit their pants.
  10. They dropped from third because they shit their pants.
  11. right on cue Loves a bit of Dummett for some reason.
  12. Isn't it a 10 year deal they've got like 5 or 6 years left on?
  13. Nowt to do with his height, you're just wrong because you're wrong. He's a very good goal scorer, but he doesn't hold the ball up particularly well at all.
  14. He's not a shitty person, just thick as mince.
  15. Or we could just sign a new left back with experience of the league and you could stop being a wum.
  16. Expect some completely unbiased comments from him on MOTD then Hope Shearer twats him. Sooner than I expected Fucking hell, Murphy has transformed into nosferatu. Also the presenters face in that pic is just perfect as a reaction to his comments
  17. Mitrovic can't head a ball or control a ball? Fuck me there's some absolute shite talked on here at times.
  18. People loved him because he was great to watch, and seemed quite a lovable bloke to boot. You, on the other hand, are a weirdo.

    Fun88

Quite a few sources mentioned £45m so there seems to be something in that. Could easily be performance based though, a minimum amount with extras depending on if we stay up, where we finish ect.

    Fun88

Well whether its £45m over 2 or 3 seasons its definitely a massive increase from our last deal. Which is good in more ways than one. Firstly its a boost for the budget (hopefully if Ashley actually sticks to his word). Secondly its a clear lesson to Ashley that having someone like Benitez in charge who can run the club right, unify the fans, and give it real credibility adds significant value to his asset. Our sponsorship deals had stagnated and barely improved (if at all) in value for the last 10 years. Yet despite being just back up from the Championship we've suddenly doubled or trebled (depending who you believe) our best previous deal. Surely even he can't be pig headed enough not to see the correlation between how the club is now being run and its sudden increase in attraction to sponsors.
  21. They aren't, just saying he shouldn't be our number 1 target.

    Fun88

Do we know it's fun88? Pretty sure nothing has been confirmed yet. Besides Philips or Sony wouldn't go near us. Yeah, I get that those are mega brands who want CL clubs, but you would think we could attract 2nd or 3rd tier brands of the same type. Huwei or Weetabix or some shit. I'd take that. For the people in charge it's all about who'll pay us the most cash though, and the bigger names don't need to be on our shirts as desperately as smaller name companies.
  23. I don't always agree with his team selection, but I trust him 100% to run the club. A manager with his record deserves to be given full control as well, not just a say in transfers, he has to be the final word on everything Football related IMO.
  24. Aye a relatively good performance by the standard of refereeing in this league.
