Yeah, they've got him on the shop website. But given his popularity you'd have imagined he might have made the video. On its own it's not too shocking, but combined with the others it looks like a pattern. It's a fairly sensible move to be fair - it would be gutting to have a video like that be totally out of date within 6 weeks.

Probably is a bit strong, but it's striking that out of our most marketable and mainstream players, we've stuck to using the ones with the most secure futures i.e. no Tripps, Miggy, Wilson, Longstaff etc. Bruno's the only real exception to that, but I'd say they've soft peddled him too - in another world I think they'd have had his Dad driving a taxi in that video or something...

I believe you can drag future funding around as you see fit in terms of FFP, can't you? i.e. front load a chunk of it into this year that's just finishing. Like a reversal of writing off a player's outstanding value as a loss even though they've got two years left on their contract.

I think we're firmly in bolted horse territory with football. FFP's only having a negative impact. The most popular showbusiness in the world should be sloshing with money. If we were trying to take it back to the 1950s - which I think would be great - you'd need to look at a system along the lines of capping club budgets at £25 per matchday ticket bought. That would give you that relatively attractive balance of well supported teams doing well, but with any club attracting 30k+ having a solid chance of glory.

Realistically we'd want whatever amount is still his outstanding value in FFP. We wouldn't want to book him as a loss and reduce our flexibility.

I'm inclined to agree with you, but I think it depends on individual circumstances, somewhat. I'd take into account things like how much of a gamble a club took in signing the player originally, how much they've added to their career, how important them receiving a fee is to the well-being of the club etc. The football ecosystem is based on clubs getting a piece of transfers, so it's a bit of a hostile act to strongly aim your career towards one if, for example, your old club was making reasonable contract offers and not blocking an earlier transfer away.

Hope he comes out on fire for the new season. Fairly optimistic he will. As others have said, I don't think there's a guarantee him, Bruno and Joelinton is the perfect setup right from the start. Hopefully they've worked out whatever was wrong last time around. Re: the investigation, judging by his betting history he didn't know about it until basically everyone did. In terms of it not affecting his performances last season.

The scary thing about Targett's fitness is the sheer variety of injuries he picks up. It seems like his body's been in full system meltdown for the past two years. Unlike Willock, I haven't got any optimism about him recovering, as much as I like him as a player.

All bad ideas except self-pass. I've never really known why it isn't allowed. If you were dribbling before you were fouled, how is it a free kick if you're not free to carry on dribbling? Same goes for 'taking it too soon' - again, if it's free, I'd rather do it before the guilty party have time to make their defence better than it was before they fouled. Open to being told it's somehow better for the game as it is, but I don't currently see how.
