Jim Beglin putting in one of the worst ever co-commentary performances tonight. He's been dogshit for 20 years now, how does he continue to get work?
-
Weak stuff tonight. I'm in the 'have deep patience' camp for him, but this was a disappointing one. Didn't like the positions he spent much of the match in.

Looked gutted.........

Has rapidly become one of our most important players.

Feels great to lose Livramento and still have this guy on the bench ready to step in

Tremendous statement from Wolverhampton.

https://www.newcastleunited.com/nufc-tv/latest-videos/lewis-hall-weve-proved-people-wrong/#t=10:39 Really good interview, I'm very pleased to see it. Comes across as credible. Handles himself well, goes 16 minutes without hitting Andy Sixsmith.

Think the theory is he'll have a career somewhere but it won't be at our intended level so we're creating space for younger kids who have a better shot.

Even playing along with the idea hypothetically, the drawback is he could be here for another year or two and we'd still get the same fee most likely, if not more, with additional FFP profit to boot. So there's no hurry at all to have this conversation. As much as I don't like it, there is a logic to the idea that Bruno is approximately at peak financial value for us right now.

Selling Gordon is a daft idea.

Ah, fair enough... The clip I watched must be too short because I can't see anything dodgy in the final three or four passes. I mean... It sounds like the definition of something I don't think people should carry a deep grievance about. Certainly not so deep that the entire game needs to be altered to fit around it, at any rate. It's VAR that's made the philosophy of placing an offside line so painful. Beforehand, defacto, if it looked like an unfair advantage was gained it was offside and if it looked immaterial it was onside. And the game worked stunningly well.

Just watched the goals. Not sure what we're talking about - is it the guy who played the cross in leading to the penalty? Totally cool with it. Just like the 97% of footballing history that made it the most popular spectator sport in the world. The rules should function as deterrents and pace setters rather than as instruments of torture. Leave that to the Olympic triple jumpers.

Largely agreed, but the same can be said of most of the Saudi purchases, if anyone wanted to kick off about player valuations.
-
I think it's roundly agreed that Trippier was an absurd bargain for us... Not something to base off as a typical deal.
-
I'd put money on that being what it is. No pun intended.
-
I forget how it was phrased, but I remember it being said - I think by Eddie - that he's not allowed to access various areas of the stadium on matchdays which is why he's never in dressing room photos and such.

More confident about this than I was Brighton. Envisaging a good win here.

We're in no position to quibble about £20m

It's this simple, kids I don't really use it, but you're undermining the ignore function if you spend pages dwelling on someone's posting habits.

Think there's an extremely strong argument for Guimaraes, in fairness, who ticks most of those boxes. But I think Gordon is the right winner.
