  1. Was gonna say. I don't see much scowling from him nowadays! He's a lot happier and more confident in himself.

    Joe Willock

Historically "black" was consciously used and promoted by black people to inject positivity and pride into the colour of people who felt denigrated by the own appearance, and who other non-blacks would avoid referring to as black - and instead called "coloured" - out of politeness to avoid bringing attention to their bad luck in being black. Weirdly, "person of colour" has now come into fashion among people who think they aren't racists. Personally, I'd recommend stopping seeing the word black as a bad thing..!

    Jacob Murphy

Without knowing the details, I'd guess this is it. Probably the same recovery time for him whether they risked it dislocating again or played conservatively, so logically they spun the wheel. If it was Bruce or Souness or someone we'd be fully entitled to assume the worst, but there's no serious evidence for that in this case.
  4. If this was a Liverpool player skimming the back of Willock's head, we'd be very fucked off.
  5. Just been reminded we have a player with this name, so thought I'd get this thread off page 6. Where exactly is he? Is this the last year of his contract?

    Arseholes, whoever they are.
  7. It's starting to get really conspicuous now. You'd almost think they were deliberately avoiding talking about him.
  8. Fantastic tonight. MOTM between him and Joelinton for me. Seemed to turn up everywhere snuffing out everything. ...That said, could he have done a bit better controlling our lads during the Havertz incident?
  9. He does need to pack this in, though... Get it wrong and he could end up getting done for assault... A mad tackle I can handle but these Italian scooter style attacks off the ball are shitty when there's no apparent justification. Havertz would've been fair game.

    Joelinton

Some fantastic touches tonight. He wasn't just rampaging, he was elegant with the ball too.

    Tino Livramento

I think that's the way I'm phrasing it too. No problem at all with this set up, I'm a signed up Tino fan, but the questions come more from how much it subtracts from Trippier and our attack, given how crucial he is to our structure and individual players like Almiron. But Livramento is a massive talent.
  12. I've learned to never count us out of a result, but what a massive 3 points this is.

    Tino Livramento

    Such a mature player.

    Eddie Howe

Eddie Howe is a license to print money for any Board.
  15. One of the low key best stories of the season

    Joe Willock

He's got those finishes in him. If he can put them together consistently, we've got a hell of a player.

    Tino Livramento

Delighted for him. Seems to be loving it here which is great.
  18. Thanks for the update, will be interesting to see what happens.
  19. We have one or two Swansea supporters on here don't we? Isn't @Groo one?
  20. Possibly. But I was thinking more of ruthlessness. Certainly the referees have cracked down on dark arts so we're avoiding them, but even putting them aside, we were bullying our way to results last season (think of us pushing Havertz around at home against Chelsea), and spikiness doesn't seem to be so much a part of our game now. We're focused on crushing teams with our quality, which is fine when it works.
  21. We're definitely lacking a bit of our old bite.

    Eddie Howe

I think it's just one of the downsides of Howe being so fastidious in everything he does. Overall it's massively beneficial to us, but it does minimise any serendipity. In my mind there's no doubt that Livramento and Targett would've been beneficial for us yesterday, but by and large, if he hasn't planned for it, he won't have it. We tend to stay the course until we hit an obstacle which prompts a reboot and a replanning session which unlocks another great run.

    Eddie Howe

I said many times last season, and I stand by it, that this season will very much be about learning lessons. Both for the players, management and fans. So it's acceptable if things like this happen in my view, we just need to bank as much success as possible and learn from these experiences so they're minimised in the future.

    Eddie Howe

Arguably the club should've offered Howe some cover at the start of the season by stating that much of our transfer activity was not with a view to immediate success, if that really was the case. On the face of it, it certainly looked ridiculous to have so many drained players out there yesterday and supposedly no feasible way of relieving them. Personally I'd hope we could have more faith in Tino, Targett and Hall by now.
