  1. Fair post. Jesus, mate, I was only joking about the liking "scene" men thing. Oh, and cheers - i'm not ALWAYS a cunt, you know.
  2. What did people want before KK re-signed? Not what specific manager, but WHAT did they want? I wanted a manager who would take us back to the top 6, get rid of the deadwood, not pretend the shite players we have are good enough, rebuild our youth setup, and build, from that top 6, to a push on the top 4. I wanted to be top 6/7 and the end of next season. Do we REALLY think Keegan can do that, nowadays? Genuine Questions: 1) Why did he leave his last 4 jobs? 2) Has the pressure/expectation LESSENED since he couldn't hack it last time? 3) Does he have a history of buiding youth setups? 4) Has he changed as a person? I hope to fuck he does well, becasue we desperately need to get back to the UEFA spots. But, hand on heart, I don't have a great feeling about it. Not like Roeder/Souness/Allardyce, who i KNEW in my heart weren't right. I love Keegan, and want desperately for him to take us away from mid table mediocrity. But I don't know if he can. I think we are in serious danger of putting on our black and white tinted glasses, and pretend we're a big club, and pretend we've signed the best manager for us, who is BOUND to get us to where we want to be. I wish it were true, but i don't think it is. Passion doe snot equal the right man, else half of US would be great for the job. Hopefully i'll be wrong, and obviously, he deserves all of the support any decent new manager shoudl get. As long as he gets rid of fucking Smith.
  3. It has a big picture of his face on the side, and speakers that blast out "I am The One And Only" By Chesney Hawkes on a non-stop loop. Dur.
  4. Yeah - and apparently Sir Alf Ramsey was seen drinking in the Diamond in Ponteland last night as well. Recommended by Craig Moore, in his best selling book "Things To Do In The North East When You Are On The Sick. And Shit".
  5. The two games before they beat Villa 2-0 & Brum 1-0 & have not scored 5 or more against any other team*. It would be intresting to see if they people finding positives in the result are the same people who couldn't work it out that we are s**** when we got beat off Derby away. *=They humped Shenzhen FC 6-0 in a pre-season game. Aye, but they didn't play half as well against Villa or Birmingham as they did against us. They wouldn't have got 4 or 5 against most other teams. Look at their results this season. How many times have they humped teams 4/5-0? They turned the SMB over at the SOS and could have had 10. Against us they got 6 - in a very strange game - the 2 first were gifts and a couple at the end when we were waiting for the whistle. And if the linesman hadn't cocked up and cheated us and we'd been 1-0 up at HT it would have been a different scoreline, not saying of course that they wouldn't have gone on to beat us. Their victory over the macums was a far more accurate result though - don't you think so ? My question was, in response to the typical NUFC blinkered comment that in the mood they are, they'd have scored AT LEAST 4 OR 5 AGAINST MOST OTHER DEFENCES, how many times, after 20-odd games, they had done so against these other defences, as they have played them all at least once. The way we played in the second half, we deservedly got battered, lets not allow a few days of excuse making blind us to how little we coudl keep the ball, etc. The victory against us was a VERY accurate result, because thats what they scored, its simple fact. I can't rememebr many times this season they've got "at least 4 or 5", but clearly we were robbed, and didn't deserve it. After all, we're Newcastle United, we're ace.
  6. Don't, you'll be starting people off. As for Diarra - how much are we paying for worse players? Cos we have worse midfielders. We so often pay over the odds, can't blame a player for trying. We actually pay Smith a wage! And Viduka is reportedly on something well beyond his actual contribution (despite his being a brilliant player, allegedly). You could probably see his reasoning between us and pompy. £50k starter for leaving a club like Arsenal and downgrading. £20k to move without a manager in case he finds himself in the same situation. £20k more to live up here rather than the South coast which is closer to France. ....We are living up to our mid table potential, they are exceeding theirs.

  8. Based on what? His experience of football other than playing the game? The tactical expertise you have no knowledge of? The transfer strategy he has not got? The scouting network he built up? His managerial experience? His assistant managerial experience? His coaching experience? Or just the fact that he loves the club? Because that is fuck all reason to give the man the job. I reckon you'd find that the majority of NUFC fans - certainly those who watch the games - do not want him at this point.

  10. So they wouldn't have failed the first test after all then? No they've failed the first test clearly. This is now the second test. The first test being replacing a manager with some decorum and planning and at a time beneficial to the club. They did the second part, every extra game under Fat Sam was damaging us more.
  11. well said. Let's just ignore the CL final appearance. I see your final and raise you Boumsong. (Sorry to be a soppy get, but I wouldn't want someone running this club that wouldn't have give us a second thought in his playing career.) That is one of the genuinely, outright fucking stupidest things I have EVER heard on here. And i've read Gasuso's posts, and Parky's "we can be above Arsenal and fighting for 4th" craziness. Why don't you wind your neck in? Or am i not allowed to have an opinion? Fuck this, its getting stupid now.
  12. Who said that then? I was generalising. After Saturdays game, someone said the only thing not good about him was his distribution. the ONLY thing. 'Good' = 'fucking ace'? I can't remember the exact words, just the blind stupidity of the sentiments. We do this all the time. A player isn't totally shit once, and suddenly he's great. Its typical of many teams, but especially us.

  14. The defence were poor. The midfield were the root cause of the problem though. Oh yeah, if we had a good defence, Carr and Cacapa would be good enough.

  16. Shearer is not for me. He MIGHT end up a good manager, but we don't know that, and anyone who thinks caring abotu the club, and making the fans excited is the recipe for success is an idiot.
  17. Fucks sake. Enrique was ok, nowt special, and got pwned more than once. but suddenly he's fucking ace, and its not the defences fault THEY let the opposition scroe 6 in one half, yadda yadda. why do we always pretend that we're better than we are? its nort optimism, or beig a good fan, its fucking stupid.
  18. He's not a great player, but lets face it, he's better than Smith, and we might as well get a game or two out of him. As long as he'snot scared of the big, nasty, vicious crowd, of course, the poor ickle baby. As long as the little cunt gets peddled as soon as possible, I'll be happy.
  19. The whole team, including the defence had a bad day (again). There was little to be proud of, if we are honest.
  20. Relevant? I was replying to li3nz's point about the feel good factor before kick-off if Shearer & Keegan take over. Will mean very little if on their first game they're gubbed though won't it. I genuinely believe the atmosphere will be on a level we have never seen before at this ground. I don't think we will "get grubbed" and wouldn't be surprised to see the atmosphere reflected on the players performance... maybe in a typical Keegan'esque "entertainers" wave after wave of attack, but this is dreamland stuff.... my point is the way our supporters used to get behind the team back then really did make a huge difference, as much as it is an overused saying we really were the 12th man and I think it will take a figurehead such as keegan or shearer to bring this back. we'd not lose unless we come up against a profesionall football team who believe in ability and coaching rather than mythical atmosphere's for winning games This is the point though. f****** David Copperfield could manage us, never mind Mourinho - the way things are he wouldn't be able to get a decent performance out of that lot. We need more than one of these so called tactical genius phenonenon's (by the way, I think this label is as mythical as it gets) they can't do anything with our club, we are in an extremely depressed state. By the way re: the other point about players reporting to Keegan, discipline etc, if Shearer was ultimately in charge I am in no doubt they would do anthing he said. If he told them to run through the wall they would knock the whole building down doing it. Erm, not all players - whisper it, but not even all NEWCASTLE players - have the same pathetic deification problem with Shaerer that some NUFC fans do. He was a very good player, who clearly loved NUFC. There is f*** all to say that he would be a good manager (there are lots of as good and better players who did not do well at all), and f*** all to say players would revere him like some NUFC fans do. He's not a f****** magician, we have no idea what he is like tactically, what he'd be like with transfers etc. I'd rather we got an actually GOOD manager in, and acted like a proper football club, and not a bunch of misty-eyed, fantasising fanboys. And as for someone else's comments about him being earmarked for the job - by WHO, exactly?? D - I - S - C - O I see the point you are trying to make but it's not something I can contest with you because I have never bought this "Uber Coach" nonsense, football is a very simple game. The successful managers, by and large, have won trophies with successful clubs ANYWAY, that have always won trophies! Not clubs that have won nowt for half a decade! Going by this logic, to appoint our proven successful managaer, we would need to find someone that has taken over a club in an incredibly depressed state, that has not won anything in their lifetime, and has brought success. It doesn't happen. Gerrard Houllier won 5 trophies (OK, one was the Charity Shield, so "only 4") with Liverpool, could he do the same with us or even come close? Could he bollocks! We would just be moving sideways. Look at Sam Allardyce, he was meant to be good... So you think all that a successful coach at NEwcastle needs is to be loved by the fans, have been a good footballer? You don't think that experience in management, expereince of winning things, tactical knowledge, transfer dealingsm etc, are slightly more important than being a good footballer who used to play for us?? As for Fat Sam, no, he wasn't "supposed to be good". Only idiots thought he'd be taking us to the promised land, based on fuck all.

    Owen

Yeah, i'm sure some drunked trespasser in Wales will make him shit himself about playing for NUFC. PS - you must REALLY hate VIduka if you are that cross about Owen!

I'd rather have a really good manager though. Thats a more sustainable way of getting the atmosphere and the buzz back.
