OOh, ooh, paper talk!! It must be true!!!!! Lets sign him before he signs for someone else made up!!!!
-
Lets not sign Jaaskelainen. He's not better than what we havem simple as. I'd rather Allardyce signed GOOD defenders, a midfielder, and a striker. i.e. not the quality of some of his other signings.
-
I disagree, i think that, given a capable partner and some coaching, he will become a good player. We have worse performers this season, but as they are "new" - although not all new to the premiership - apparently we aren't a;;owed to discuss them.
-
The reason he won't be playing for England isn't because he's crap (although he's not going to pull any trees up, is he).
-
hahahahahahahahahah
-
you just KNOW he's itching to squeeze an "Emerton is close to signing" lie in there. £75k a week for Tal Ben Haim??? I hope we don't match that!
-
Ditto. One bad game and a player is embaressing? We have some of the worst "supporters" in football. Sorry, yeah - Cacapa is brilliant, and deserves a place in the starting XI. Like fuck does he. After one bad game? He was fairly decent in all the other matches I saw him in. He was ok in most of the other games, bar a few wobboles. No better than Taylor or Rozenhal - in fact, on balance worse than both of them when they played together, so why shoudl he get a start*? * other than Allardyce and his Random Selection Madness.

What impresses you about David Moyes? I liek the way he goes about things. He's quietly built up a nice effective little squad, containing a number of players, despite what some of us might be stupid enough to think, that are better than our equivalents. I can't agree abotu the "big players" thing, because there is little evidence of Allardyce being any better at that, other than his abilities to get faded starts to perform relatively well. Over five years. yes, over a good period of time. And he's had some very good and some bad seasons. But i like him. And he looks all scary-eyed as well. Like a ginger Collina. Don't you see the hypocrisy in critisising Allardyce already then? Moyes initial signings btw: First summer Yobo (£1m, paid a further £4.5m the following summer) Li Weng Fei (£200k) Li Tei (£200k) Juliano Rodrigo (£1.25m) Richard Wright (£3.5m) First January Ibrahim Saeed (Loan) Brian McBride (3-month loan) Iain Turner (£50k) Espen Baardsen (Free) Undoubtedly, it took him a while. But he didn't spend the amounts Allardyce has. Anyway, the Moyes thing is an opinion from afar, isn't it. There is more at stake with MUFC as far as i'm concerned, so i'm more jumpy. You're a Man Utd fan?! Explains it all. stupid fat fingers!

No-one. I was, if you have a look, responding to a point someone else originally made STATING that Mourinho wanted to keep him. I'm pretty sure I recall Mourinho stating he wanted to keep him too though. For a couple of weeks before he went there were constant rumours about him going to Spurs or us and in that time I distinctly recall Mourinho saying he wanted to keep him but understood why Duff wanted to leave (1st team opportunities). Lets not pretrend that a soundbite given to the Sun is an actual real opinion of a manager. No-one on here has a fucking clue what Mourinho thought.

Shame he plays on the other wing, and is not as good as our best player in his actual position.

WUM Explain yourself. I would never, ever want Redknapp at my cluib, or any club I had any vestige of respect for. Ever. He hasn't done enough for me over 5 years. He's done very well at Portsmouth, ok so they've had a few notable cash injections in his time, but still - who would have thought 5 years ago that Portsmouth would have become a very strong Premiership outfit? Sorry my bad. Was on about Moyes. Fair play, not sure I agree with you though. He's had a couple of patchy periods but he's turned Everton into a pretty decent team as of late. I don't think he's the man to take them a step further though, and I'd feel the same if he was to join us. I don't think Allardyce is either, though.
-
He gets results, though. Pretty true. He's clearly pretty effective at that club. I just can't stand him.

I suspect we're paying him more than they did. And who told you Mourinho wanted to keep him? No-one, like i thought.

Joey Barton completes move for £5.8m - Man City

Theoretically, i think he could. But he won't. And no, we would get no compensation, why would we? There still seems to be this opinion that he can be great for us. I can only assume that the people saying this never really watched him play before, or accept that we are going to remain a mid table team. Insurance? Will we have taken out "Employee is a knobhead who attacks team mate cover"? -
Dear god, I don't want Allardyce given £40m, based on the £25m or whatever that he's already spent.
-
Has Carrol not fucked himself up with the ENgland incident? Can't see us having taken too kindly to that.
-
We'll be pretty much where we are now, at the end of the season, i reckon. Alalrdyce has shown some of the quality of his transfer acumen, and its patchy to say the least.
-
Out of those, I'd have, in order: Moyes Hughes O'Neill Allardyce Bruce Redknapp
-
Couple of things - The "loves the game" thing is in direct contrast to the inferences of former NUFC players who are still associated with the club, regarding his not being arsed, and picking/choosing when to play. Still, i'm sure you know better than them about the motives and feelings of a man you don't know and have not met. Also, the "one of the best in the world" tag - how does that square with his pre-injury shiteness, and the fact that Chelsea let him go so easy? Oh, and that midfield would be a fucking nightmare. You've dropped our best wingers, and selected a 433 solely to accomodate a few players, haven't you.
