  1. Never a "great" player, but he could do a good job in the Championship. Not unlike Shola, only less random, more drunken.
  2. Who cares? Its girls football, it's shit. I'd like to know who's doing the shopping, making the meals, wshing the clothes and hoovering while they're away. Selfish mares.
  3. Are the players he had or has brought in top class ? No. One or two have top class attributes but none of our players are complete players, they either lack pace, brains or technique. Could he have attracted better players? Maybe, but its not likely since as you pointed out so much last season, we were utter shite. If the faithful think we're shite, why would a top class professional not think the same thing? There are lots of reasons players targetted by the manager didnt come here, players that would have improved this squad. Does he have a track record of getting average sides to perform? Yes. In which case, given the assessment of the players, how come he isnt the right man? You cant have it both ways, if the players are as shite as you say they are, stop expecting miracles. I agree our players arent good enough and i'm realistic about who we can attract. You do need to follow that to the only logical conclusion that a manager with a good track record in getting the best out of only half-decent / average players needs at least a bit of time to implement what has clearly been successful before. We didnt exactly flex any financial muscles over the summer. If we do spend big and things dont look that different after that, then i will be inclined to agree with you. If he spends "big" on the type of players he's brought in so far, we're wasting money. Who has he signed so far? Viduka - Not great, but ok as a one season stop gap. At least it means Shola isn't playing. Barton - Would have been worth it for half the cost. Overrated. Rozenhal - Looks like he could be a good one. Geremi - Past it. Passing often poor, no pace. Should never have been made captain, shoudl have been a sub at best. Smith - Not a good midfielder, bad striker. Waste of money. Cacapa - Teh player to teach Taylor? Tell that to Pompey. Enrique - Liking him. Stupidly dropped by the manager. Faye - Seems alright by and large, decent squad player. Beye - Not done anything to show he's that good, apart from not being Carr. Around £25m spent? My point is that Allardyce was at his level with Bolton, and yes, he's better than Roeder/Souness, but thats a default position for most decent managers. Is he good enough to entrench us in the top 5? Not from what i've seen so far. He's not new to the league, but you wouldn't know that with his tactics and team selections.
  4. Can't disagree with your analysis. 2 watercooled mainframes are chugging out the possible almost randomised positions of our players for Liverpool. Chaos theory, Fat Heed uses. Like that Goldblum fella out of Jurassic Park did.
  5. His positioning at right-back is shocking. He seems to still play on this image he has of being in the captain fantastic mould, and he's all over the shop, trying to be the hero if you will. He's not a full back, he's not built, trained or skilled for it. If Allardyce doesn't understand basics like that, he's a fatter-headed cunt than i thought.
  6. Where's the bit about him wasting money already on players who aren't good enough to get us where we need to be? Oh, thats right, it wasn't part of their agenda. Just because it's in TF, why does it have any more credence than any other shite?
  7. No, clearly he is not the man. Look at his signings, they've not been great by any stretch of the imagination. But there will still be the fans who cling to the belief that because he is employed by Newcastle United (as with a number of our first team players) that he is somehow good enough, and that glory is only a bit of luck away. Its all very well saying "have some faith", and yes, he's better than Roeder (liek being stabbed is better than being shot), but there is little point in having faith in something that is not going to work - showing blind faith does not make you a better fan, it just makes you less realistic.
  8. I'm glad you clarified that 4 out of 10 is 40%. It increased the dramatic impact of the statistic by at least 110% for me. ooh, the bite of sarcasm. Was your intention, I'm sure.
  9. Sam Allardyce proved himself to be nearly as clueless as our past few incumbents on Saturday. Note: 1) 4 outfield players (40%) out of position. 2) Our best left back not playing 3) Our best left winger, who has already shown a decent understanding with said left back, played AT LEFT BACK. 4) A centre back that Sam (very stupidly) used the press to slate, played at RIGHT BACK (where he was still better than the right back Allardyce bought has been). Oh, and the player the centre back was supposed to learn off, suddenly not available after a sub-Bramble performance against Pompey. 5) Barton at right wing? Fuck off, Allardyce. 6) Owen off/Martins on - again. Jesus. If Allardyce turns around in January and says he needs to replace Taylor, its because HE has fucked him, slating him then playing him out of position, like an arsehole. We all know that stability is a good thing, no point getting rid of managers, yadda yadda, blah blah.......lets get this fucker straight - Allardyce is NOT the right man for us, he is NOT the man to get us back to being a top 5 side (sorry Parky, no 4th for us), and staying with him is NOT a good idea as he is not going to improve. Oh, and if Barton had carried out that assault on one of OUR players, everyone on here would be baying for his blood. He's not a great player, he's a knobhead.
  10. Ameobi - shit Smith - Shit Geremi - poor Butt - poor Cacapa - poor ...lets face it, we could go on. Tactics (manager) and their execution (players) were woeful. Those who wanted Ameobi to get a chance, or thought Smith was good enough, or wanted Taylor not in the middle of defence: you were wrong. That is all.
  11. First half thoughts: 1) 4 players out of position - we're not fucking Holland, we can't do that. 2) One of our two top centre backs is playing at right back 3) Shola, you fucking reek, now fuck off. 4) Our set pieces have been awful - Geremi - STOP TAKING THEM. 5) Cacapa has a lot of blame to carry 6) Smith is not good enough. 7) Hey, Sam: Milner - on the fucking right 8) Not fucking good enough.
  12. Ameobi isn't good enough. Simple as that. He's worse than Viduka, who is also not particularly good, but Shola himself is nowhere near good enough for a top 6 premiership side, which HAS to be our goal. just a little reminder for you we're not a top 6 club YET, and as far as i can tell ameobi is still part of our squad. so while viduka is playing like a no talent ass clown give our man with a new hip a shot. he looked much better than viduka in the wigan game to get to BE a top 6 team, you have to have players on the filed who are good enough to get you there. Ameobi is not. Neither is Viduka, but the fat lazy aussie being not good ebough doesn't suddenly make Shola good enough.
  13. Ameobi isn't good enough. Simple as that. He's worse than Viduka, who is also not particularly good, but Shola himself is nowhere near good enough for a top 6 premiership side, which HAS to be our goal.
  14. Owen and Martins. Owen is so far beyond the others it's not even funny. And although Lil' Mikey and Obafemi Mitty might not be ideal, its still better than any of the other combinations based on the fact that neother Smith or Viduka are any more than "meh". But as neither of them are Ameobi, they immediately get SOME respect, over THAT pile of steaming donkey shite. And the person who put "Viduka and Smith" - idiot
  15. Milner-----Owen-----Martins----- ------Smith-----Butt-----Geremi------- N'Zogbia--Rozehnal--Taylor--Beye -----------------Given-------------------- Midfield is pretty poor, mind.
  16. I think regardless of his dad, a back line including Beye, Cacapa and Roz should be our prefered one. no, it shouldn't. Yes, it should. (etc etc) Yes, i forgot, you can't be wrong. My apologies, with due respect to how much you've wathed all of those aforementioned players.
  17. The midfield.. What about it? Milner Geremi Butt N'zogbia Would be more effective. didnt N'zogbia play CM against Juve? We need a creative spark in the center of the park. Given played up front once in training, but i wouldn.t play him there in a real game.
  18. I think regardless of his dad, a back line including Beye, Cacapa and Roz should be our prefered one. no, it shouldn't.
  19. if he's dropped it will be fuck all to do with his dad an everything to do with the fact that we now have roz, cacapa, feye and beye for him to compete with. if he's dropped it'll be a mistake.
  20. Chronicle says both hav late fitness tests but both could play Ok, thanks! Anything about Enrique? he is injured to with a slight hamstring problem.. Are you mental? is that a trick question??
