he's not a big clumsy player, his goal that he scored showed everything viduka can do, he can hold the ball up, and has great technical ability which we saw from his shot. So one good goal shows that he's good, but all of the other shite performances get ignored.

Bramble wasn't the worst defender we've ever had he's the joint worst we had last season.
-
he was the worst of the lot lst season so he's the worst player of them? No, he's not.
-
He played 90mins, the team didn't let a goal in. Isn't that usually a commendable thing? So the team kept a clean sheet then? Thats a whole new level of pathetic.

Scored the only goal in the Sunderland v Leeds 1973 FA Cup Final, for Sunderland. Don't care how old you may be or say you are - how can you not know about that??? i know who he was, but i don't know who scored goals in other FA Cup Finals before i was born, why would i, or why would anyone else? as for the fella dying, sad for anyone who knew/liked him, i'm sure.

Ronaldo, Nani & Anderson spanking prostitutes

And who'd have thought THAT of prossies?? -
Milner is a good player, who can hopefully develop further. He does not have blistering pace, but neither do a lot of fine wingers. We have other players in other positions who are inferior to Milner at what they do. Maybe soem fans should turn their attention to THEM, first.

None of these players are without faults, they just happen to have less than Emre does. Dyer has less faults than Emre? Unfortunately true. Its why a club paid £7m for him, while Emre we'd be lucky to receive the £3.8m we paid for him. Thats not why there'd be a price disparity though, is it. Emre has soem problems, but not as many as Dyer. He's certainly a better footballer.

Steven Taylor rejects new contract; Liverpool preparing £5m bid?
Northern Monkey replied to magorific's topic in Football
There will be those who get all stupid about the story, same as the Given one, and take it literally, getting themselves all steamed up. But they are cretins. Once they start doing that, they'll start disparaging him as a player, until he's as bad as Bramble. I hope he stays, i think he is already a good defender, and could well become a very good one. -
He's not shown anything so far to dispel the belief most of us had when he played at other clubs that he was a big clumsy player. He's better than Ameobi (but thats a default position you'd expect from most premiership strikers) but he's not a particularly good player.

Are some of you that THICK...There is a difference between wanting to play games and HAVE TO play games OR ELSE I SPIT THE DUMMY...Do you think Harper has been happy not playing Do you think before you write ? Right: PROVE TO US THAT SHAY GIVEN HAS SPAT THE DUMMY. All yopu are doing is reading some quotes that DO NOT say he has spat his dummy out, and interpretting them to fit soem f****** stupid Given-bashing agenda. And 'f****** stupid' is an understatement there. So come on: prove there is any problem. Shay Given spat the dummy 7 years ago during the early years of SBR times and I said I won't be surprised if the recent talks he wants to hold with Allardyce are about his place in the team... So he's done nowt this time. Good, glad we cleared that up.

What, in County Durham??

1982, Leicester away (draw). Didn't do aways again until the back end of the 1991/2 season (when i was old enough to take myself). If i'd waited another month or two in 1992 to start going to aways, i think my first away win would have been against the team i first saw us play away at nearly 10 years earlier. That would have been odd.

ALL internet sites/fori (thats the plural).

Simmer! Nobody is saying he has tbh, although there are a few who seem to have it in for Shay. The general concensus seems to be that it sounds unlikely but if it were true, it would be out of order. Speculation. And i quote: "because of Shay's previous attitude of "either me or I'm out of here"...I'm not talking about the latest story about Shay as we don't know much about it but my gut feeling says that he wants assurances from Sam to reclaim his position in the starting lineup... " absolute shite.

Hasn't actually been that good, though, has he. Seesm to have as much pace as an injured Viana. A far away improvement over Parker though and what's better it's in a midfield unit which is still finding it's feet, and that's what counts as we were constantly overrun in the engine-room where Parker's play was an omnipresent & always negative deciding factor. Sure he's not the dominant factor in the current midfield set-up, but he's been a rock solid performer in the midfield phalanx of three, and his ball-use is far more efficient & intelligent than Parker's was. Unlike Parker, and this is the major difference that couples with their respective technique on the ball and ball useage, Geremi sees the passing lanes open up when the opposition midfield & defensive become fragmented following a turnover. But then again not giving Geremi credit is the sort of response i'd expect from you NM, given that you spent a considerable period defending Parker's sub-par performances - ie. 'he's supposed to be/he's straight out suited to the DM role' sort of stuff - prior to the the final run-in last season, rather than just accepting that he wasn't up to the balanced 'defensive/attacking role' bestowed upon him by Roeder, a role which is central to an efficiently functioning midfield unit of four especially when there's already one defensive minded midfielder in the line-up ie. Butt. I'm not looking to score points on you, however by the time you effectively jumped off Parker's bandwagon our season had already been flushed down the loo. history re-written again, well done. Please feel free to continue making stuff up, as you always seem to, to support your pathetic, vacuous arguments. As it happens, being "better than Parker" does not mean someone is good enough. Although i wouldn't expect someone that has shown such a shallow understanding of football to realise that. As it happens, i thought that Parker did alright in the time immediately after joining us, but that the role he had to play, and the fact that he was never more than a mediocre player, meant that he was always going to get found out here.
