  1. HOME TIE!! Reading or Burnley... not bad, not bad.
  2. I'd prefer Whoopi Goldberg on the home teams. tongue.gif
  3. I'm interested to know how many people saw Luque play regularly in Spain, not saying he wasn't great but certainly on the few occasions I saw him for Depor or Mallorca (quite a few over the years) I never remember him standing out as a top-class football player - certainly at Depor there were a number of players who I would happily went for ahead of him (Munitis, Tristan, Valeron, Andrade, etc.) - His goal record is certainly nothing to jizz over, either, for someone who played in an attacking left-sided position (after being converted there from being an out-and-out striker). And if he was that great he would have more caps for Spain and have featured more in 2002 and 2004 (after his best season to date in professional football.) I suppose you can link Luque for Deportivo in that 03/04 season to Robert for us in the two seasons where he really made an exceptional contribution to the cause. Both players capable of delivering some top-class goals and scoring vital goals, but both with severe attitude problems and the lack of ability to keep hitting those heights. Remember, there were a lot of games where a lot of us would quite happily have killed Robert for his lack of contribution/interest - I dare say a lot of Depor fans would say the same about Albert during his time there. Robert also has failed to regain his ability/importance at the subsequent clubs he's been to, so I don't see why it would be different to Luque.

    Titus rumour

Theoretically that could be club propaganda. Not saying it is, but come on, don't believe everything you read/hear.

    Titus rumour

He's better than Huntington and Ramage, surely? TT has said exactly the right thing, though, how could it be good for us that one of our assets is fully fucked if we don't stand to gain anything from it? Daft comment. PS: I reckon a fair few of our players are "shit" but I wouldn't want their careers ended because of it... especially while they're still on our books.

    Titus rumour

What a cuntish thing to say. And I'd have Bramble at centre-half over Huntington any day of the week.
  7. In case you missed it, Brum had 10-men for 50 minutes and are in the division below us... they also lost 2 players to injury during the game. I'm not excusing that, but people who sit here and make their knee jerk reactions (a lot of whoem probably didn't watch the game) need to calm down a bit, FFS you think we'd been knocked out... I saw the game and I agree there were a lot of good moments on a bad pitch, but it's just an infuriatingly typical scoreline against an utterly average club. It gets irritating when the same thing happens season after season.
  8. Martins and Dyer were absolutely paggered by the 75 minute mark, I was desperately hoping he'd give at least one of them a break because it cannot have been easy-going on them on a pitch like St. Andrews. His lack of bottle in regards to substitutes is my main gripe with Glenn, although I still think we've done remarkably well lately. Managers need to gamble sometimes, though, especially when arguably our two most important players look wrecked and are at a high risk to injury during a game. I can't see how Carroll could have offered anything less than either of them in the last 15 minutes, I know they were given chances but they did a magic job of fucking them up.

  10. Speaking of inexperience: Muamba, Bendtner, Larsson, Sadler etc. for Birmingham are all 21 or under as well, just off the top of my head. Not sure if that's a viable excuse today.
  11. Very Souness-like performance, utterly unprofessional against a 10-man Championship side for over 50 minutes of the game. Replay was the last thing we needed here with all the injuries and the UEFA Cup starting up again next month. Serves the players right, I suppose, foot was well-and-truly taken off the gas at 2-1 (as we always do in games like these.) Fair play to Brum for being brave enough to get the equaliser.

    Aaron Hughes

He's utterly cack, Brummie's points are exactly my feelings about him from when he was here. Too soft and not good enough going forward, in a nutshell.
  13. There are some fucking idiots around, I tell the. Massively amusing though, that's the best chuckle I've had for ages on here. Good spot, Delima.
  14. Wouldn't be upset with John as he'll be available for a reasonable price, is a great age and has already shown some good potential in an extremely poor Fulham team. Seems to have stagnated down there and I've heard rumblings about him being a bit of a prick, but we all know Roeder has exceptional pedigree in working with younger players and so could get the best out of him. Bit of a risk, though, if we did go for him because his goal record has been pretty shocking since his opening season in the PL but I've been saying for ages that anyone who can finish will score a lot of goals in our current team (as shown by Martins and Sibierski this season, neither of whom are "top class" goalscorers.) Fulham are hardly renowned as being free-scoring or attractive to watch under Coleman, either.
  15. Tongue-in-cheek, Ronaldo my son. PS: Lay off the pasties.
  16. The curse of Bowyer seems to have engulfed West Ham all over again after he had Leeds bankrupted, relegated the Hammers and then turned us into a mid-table side from a title-challenging/Cl-competing bunch. Coincidences? I think not.
  17. Saying that, Taylor seemed intent on testing out Given's groin in the first-half as well. Surely we should have some sort of plan for kick-offs, though? Unless it was a plan, in which case someone wants a slap.
  18. I didn't mention this earlier... but why the fuck did we pass back to Given straight from the kick-off? Ridiculously piss-boiling.

    Agree completely.
  21. Siberski "6"!! Crikey, must have watched a different game to you... he was Shearer-esque today.
  22. You on about the handball by Vidic? He handled it but it was never a pen tbh. na mate pen for us, 2nd half, ball over the top form Emre and I think it was Dyer who got clatterd. was so hard to tell from where we were. Oh and howay lads go easy on Parker you could see he was given the task today of doing a job on Rooney, he stuck to him like glue. Never a pen, was at my end. Cheers mate I can see nowt down the Leazes, mind, we could mebbes team up for a match report at some point

Got booked, aye, wasn't happy at a "foul" that wasn't given from what I could see.
