He's had a bad half. That's as far as I'd go. There's a lot of poor performances out there so far. Very casual. Joelinton's second touch being a tackle each time probably the pick of the litter.

Really good post. Very similar to me. Thought the recent thread about top 3 signings since 2020 (which I appreciate has an element of subjectivity) was a bit dishonest in its wholesale exclusion of him. He really let himself down with his move though and I do hope his professional success absolutely craters.

In respect of the bold however, I do think when you know/care about one player (e.g. when you watch a game you don't love but "have" a player in Fantasy Football etc), you do tend to hyper-focus on why they are not more involved. What is the German view of Woltemade's ceiling/potential if you could compare him with an existing or retired player?

I know he was bought to solve the long-standing "RW fret" problem but I always thought some of his best work at Forest was cutting in on his right from the left and shooting. Would be nice to see one day.

Thought he was fine albeit no great shakes, not much support today. Not much to aim at in the box. A lot of effort, tracked back to defend. Not vintage but I guess the price tag weighs heavy in mind for some.

If I were attending, you'd be more awestruck that a goal hasn't been scored. We've looked quite toothless because with the wings relatively nullified, the opportunity for Woltemade to link up has put the spotlight on Joelinton. Not who you'd choose. Maybe push Tonali forward and ask Joelinton to hang back.
