Yes... He's too good to leave out. Duff's out for 5 months, Zoggy's pants at the moment and don't get me started on Luque. Honestly think Martins would be good there! Perhaps more of a 433 formation, can't make my mind up 100% at the moment, as still not 100% sure who's staying and who's going. Its looking very likely we'll be keeping Martins, Owen and Dyer. No one seems to be sniffing round Zoggy or Luque either. Competition for starting XI places will be tough next year, if we do manage to hang on to everyone.

Butt - Will probably start more games than most. Solano - agreed, not too sure if he's captain material anyway. Given - You try captaining shambles, o'brien, Car, baba etc He obviously does an amazing job in saving our ass time and time again despite the poorness of defenders he has to work with. Taylor - just a tad too early for him otherwise perfect captain material. probably our next captain after this one coming. Comes over fine in interviews too. (i don't understand what some have against the lad, he's the most promising CB in the country imo) Got to be Given if he wants it imo, he's been with us 10 years second best player only after Shearer in that time, committed to the club and is also imo the best keeper in the Premiership (others would have cech but there wrong imo). Pretty much guaranteed to start every match bar injury and its likely to make him alot more vocal and reward him for his excellent service so far.

LB - We desperately need a LB - ideally Drenthe (as can play LW too) if not Baines,Shorey, a continental gem i don't know about. RB - Sam may decide to play Nobby or Dyer there but i'd splash the cash and take a risk with Micah Richards, even though he'll cost alot I just think he's awesome in that position and would really make us a force. Now citeh have been taken over he may not be allowed or want to go and if he does Arsenal are thought to be his most most likely destination. As he's unlikely Bebe, young or Geremi should be added CB - ok we have Taylor, Rozenhal, Edgar, Hunty and Ramage. One more experienced head is needed imo and Big Sol campbell would have been and will be ideal for us imo (yes thanks Glen you prat) and even if he cost us 4m i'd pay it, IF (unlikely now) Harry agree's to let him go . That should pretty much do us unless Oba and/or Owen leaves and then we obviously need to replace. Although if Boupa Papa Dioup could be bought i'd be very tempted. I agree with this in the main, good idea's. Martins from what i saw last season worked his socks off for us and got very frustrated seeing very little of the ball when playing as our main striker. I think he may preffer to drop a little deeper and will not mind having to track back a bit if he plays this way, as his strength is running at defnders beating them with skill and pace he's better of letting someone like Viduka lead the line imo Very frustrating not knowing if Owen and/or martins will still be here!!

Agree with leazes 1986. I couden't disagree with Kyberpass any more. Micah Richards looks a superb young talent to me (like a young lillian Thuram)thus the big price tag and apparent big interest from Wenger etc etc entitled to your opinion but comparing him with Bramble is like comparing Ronaldo with Luque

Henry started started out as a Winger, but hasn't done too bad a job as a striker has he? etc etc I think Marins would do well on the LW or top left of a 433 personally too good to leave on the bench and while Duff is out Zoggy's in the huff and Luque a complete flop why not put him LW or at the top left of a 433 ? Thats the team i'm hoping for, i do doubt we'll get Richards, Drengthe and Cambell but i'm hoping we do go in for them and get them or players of that calibre. If alladyce is 'bunged' some big money by Ashley these are the types of players we should be looking to get in to strengthemn our weak defence, are they not? Stranger things have happened i.e. signing Micky Owen etc (for all the good it did us).

Milner and Dyer for me are in direct competition for a starting place this year on the right of a 433 or RW of a 442. Milner was our best player by miles last year and very consistantly good, ocaisionally excellent, that puts hhim in pole position for his place imo. Dyer needs to fight for his place and i'd certainly use him as an impact sub to start off with as and when we need him. Milners crossing was good on the whole last year much much better than in his first stint here (where it shite). the problem was there was no target man to really attack them, so many went to waste. Viduka i am sure will appreciate milners crossing this season. Dyer can win us games if playing to his best, thats up to him and sam to get right i suppose, but for now i'd stick with Milner who is coming on in leaps and bounds and is our future imo.

Best player in an england shirt - i'd have to say Pele ...........................after he swapped it with Bobby Moore In my lifetime (i'm 31) i'd say Gazza was incredible but for too short a period in all fairness. Although i'd agree it was probably Bobby Charlton. Can't understand why someone would say Hoddle?

TEAM NEXT SEASON (HOPEFULLY): GIVEN (micah) RICHARDS TAYLOR CAMPBELL BAINES/DRENGTHE, - Richards will make a huge difference and Campbell's solid too. MILNER BARTON BUTT MARTINS - V. hard working midfield with Martins running forward from deep. OWEN VIDUKA - The best combination? Hopefully! subs Harper, Rozehnal , Emre, Dyer/Zoggy/Duff/Luque?, Ameobi/Carroll Micah Richards is THE player i'd most like us to buy (fantastic imo and just what we need, he could be an absolutely massive player for us), although we need a good LB desperatly so maybe we should go all out for Baines/Drengthe/Shorey.

We really can't be that stupid really..... can we? I am going to choose not to believe these rumours and put it down to people making things up. I woulden't be shocked at all if both Owen and Martins are still here at the start of next season and this proves to be nothing more than made up (by mackems) hype.

Unbelievable critisism he gets of some posters on here, most of it completely unjust (makes me wonder if there are some undercover Makems on here tbh) IMO he's already a good premiership defender (needs a little fine tuning and a decent partner), with the potential to become a premiership great.

Once we've secured a LB (our top priority). I would preffer we spent the £10m on RB Micah Richards! - fast, tall, strong, scores, creates, good in the air, hard to beat and would make a absolutely huge, huge difference to our team imo (reminds me of a young Lilian Thuram). We need a CB too hopefully this Czech guy will be good if we get him. If after we've bought quality 2 x fullbacks, 2 x centerbacks, 1 x defensive midfielder and if we still have £10m+ then meh, why not get SWP as good back up! 8)

I'm hoping our back 4 looks someting like this: RAMAGE NOBBY HUNTY EDGAR EDGAR/BABA RICHARDS TAYLOR ROZEHNAL DRENTHE shocking lack of cover in that defence. would need at least another cb and another left back as baba is likely on his way and edgar far from natural in that position. I'd like to add Campbell to that list ideally, but we are not bleedin Chelski though who can afford several top players for one position and could put a second XI out better than most teams first. Good for teams like us to have players who can do a decent job in more than one position as we can only put 5 on the bench. If we got a top quality LB in, do we really really need another straight away? Edgar, Baba and Duff can all cover if needs be. Edgar (although used usually as a CB) was awesome (MOM no less) against Man u in that position before Roeder unbelievably/stupidly decided to drop him. Duff was also very good (unusually) at LB when tried. If baba gets sold then yes get someone else in, i don't think he's quite as bad as some make out although admittedly a poor season. Will be interesting if Sam does keep him. A question : Where you say "Good for teams like us" etc - do you not think we are moving on from that "inferior" position? Or do you think a bloke called Ashley has just thrown £133M into the river Tyne, having suddenly realised he had bought a football club, but had no idea (no PLAN) as to what to do with it? Big sam has only just taken over ffs (we don't even know what if anything he has to spend), we can't be comparing ourselves to the Chelski's and man u's of this world just yet.
