I'd like to see how Big Sam plays them. I expect BS may well bring in another attacking Midfielder (perhaps this kingston, the swiss player or someone else) as competition for Emre and keep parker and Butt for the more defensive roles. Of course if Parker or Emre wants out then replace them but players of their quality i'd preffer to keep and work with.

Ahem!! WE NEED DEFENDERS!! Two of campbell (1-2m), Ben Haim (free) and Distan (free) for CB. Then Wayne Bridge or for LB (3-4m). Micah Richards i'd be willing to spend alot of money on 6-10m+ on, although very doubfull we'd get him (as imo he could well become world class), if not then someone like Luke Young would be good imo. We don't really need anyone in attack or midfield unless we lose players, although Tuncay, Appaih or Sidwell on a free Transfer is a bit of a no-brainer really to boost the squad. So ok if we lose Martins or Owen, then replace with the money we recieve for them - Anelka 8-10m or even better Tuncay (free). Similar with Parker and Emre replace if we need to, although i'd be happy to keep quality such as them. Kingston sounds good but i have no idea what he's like if he's cheap and good then why not? Its going to be very tough though as Villa, spurs etc etc will all have money to spend too.

Well Said Nicky Butt!! He's gone way up in my estimation this season, he and Milner in terms of professionalism, effort and quality on the pitch have been a credit to our club. Big Sam and he will get on well imo

when talking about Martins? Sorry mate, but you've been watching a different player to me this season! ....But Martins is clearly hardworking. Not always effective and we often can't get the ball to him but his workrate is pretty good imo.

Got to agree with this. Barton is a ticking time bomb, a complete thug, will be a nightmare, very very unpopular with other players and is no better than Parker imo Imo opinion big Sam could get Parker/Butt and Emre working really well, unlike Roeder who wanted Parker to play in a more advanced 'our Gerrard' style role and made Emre stay back more, when the rest of us could clearly see parker is suited as a more defensive type player and Emre should be encouraged to go forward alot more. Parker and Emre are clearly very good individual players who just haven't ben able to play as well as they should be, within our team due to shite managers (Souness tring to play without wingers and Roeder not playing them in their correct roles. Big Sam will hopefully see what most of us can see here.

Very worrying imo as looks like Owen or his agent is trying to engineer a way out of Toon. Freddy has every right to be mad imo, as owen's out of order if he wants to move now, although FS is a complete Prat for agreeing to that clause. If Owen moves on for 9m after we just paid 16m he'll be a laughing stock. People on here saying they woulden't blame Owen if he moved! Is there no decency left in the world at all? Can't see him getting many games at Chelski (lots of ££££££££ though), realstically is he going to play much before Mackelle, Lampard Essien, Ballack, Mikel, SWP, Joe Cole etc? Doubt it very much. If he goes there for the money and to sit on the bench then good luck to him, but he could well of ruined his career.

Like who? Who will we get for £6.5m that would be as productive? Half the top strikers in the premiership have a goal ratio of around 1:4, Rooney has! People need to realise the lad is still very young but still one of our best players. There are a hell of a lot more players in the squad we need replacing before we even think about Milner. Agree with GeJon, of all the players you can critize this season Milner least deserves it. He's been consistantly good and occaisionally excellent and our player of the season by a country mile. He works hard getting forward and getting back

Out of Houlier, Big sam and Sven. I'm going to opt for Big Sam. However 3 good choices imo so voted Yes.

Good line up imo I like it. Not much height though. Barton's a good player, not brilliant, i don't think i'd take him as he's a nightmare to manage etc maybe Sidwell would be better if he could be persuaded.

Personally think its a fantastic idea, definately one i'd welcom. But just not very likely as i don't think they could be persuaded.

We can do better than Dyer and Ameobi for a start. Youngs decent but i think we can do better than him as well. I think we will be seeing a team quite different from that lining up next season if we get Allardyce, and it will probably be better as well. Based on the back end of this seaon Dyer and shola have admitedly been very poor, but i'm guessing Big Sam will probably keep them on and will really fire them up. Young is good imo and probably the best we'll get, i'd preffer Richards from Citeh but not too sure they'd sell and if they did it'd probably be to Chelski etc Care to make a line up/formation prediction of your own then?

Personally i'd sell as i think its our last chance to get any real money for him and replace with some up and coming quick young kid if possible. Saying that i woulden't be shocked if Big Sam got the best out of him, but if it were me i'd definately sell.

Clear out the first team deadwood i.e. Gooch, Moore, Shambles, Car, Pav, Pattison and Luque. Replace with quality i.e. Sol Campbell, Dystan, Luke young, Matty Taylor etc Get a formation and his preffered starting XI Given Young Taylor Campbell Taylor Milner Parker Emre Ameobi/Dyer Owen Martins Krul Edgar Butt Duff/Zoggy Carroll

Agree with 99% of this. I would definately Boot Car out as well though. The likes of Dyer, Duff, Zoggy, Shola and Emre give a tad longer under Big Sam.

I'm optomistic that Big sam will do well at St James, one slight concern is that he decides to keep the deadwood like Bramble and Car so he can judge for himself. Mind you Glenn may well have kept Car anyhow.
