Wouldn't mind Ranieri actually. He's proven in the Premiership, and he has a comical almost Robson-esque feel to him. You just can't help but get behind him and his team. Plus, he's managed in three different leagues, which will obviously be advantageous in terms of contacts, scouting etc. I hope we at least take a look at him tbh. Ranieri would be another disaster imo, great bloke but too nice rotates way too much, thus the tinker man nickname and would probably play Car and keep Titus just to be nice. He inexplicably changed winning teams, no definately not for me. Shearer would have a similar effect on us, as Keane has had on the Mackems. He'd be my first choice definately. As far as we know Shearer is not in the frame at all so i'd like either Alladyce or Hiddink.

Yes i'm convinced the Shearer influence took us amazingly from 15th to 7th last season and even more convinced now, because Glenn without Shearer is suddenly shite again. If not then big Sam because he's the best we can probably get right now and a dam sight better than Roeder!

We have: Owen Martins Dyer Shola Carroll Le Sib + Milner Emre or Duff can play as support strikers if desperate! Thats pretty good in all fairness or should be if we get a decent manager in! We have hardly any decent defenders though!! I don't think we need Bent or Crouch, we need a class CB + a class LB + another half decent CB!

Shearer distanced himself a couple of weeks ago for a return to football, he even hinted he may go in at a lower level 1st, but wants to see out BBC contract which lasts a while longer yet. Out of the papers i heard he wants 5 years in total off to spend getting his badges but mainly to spend time with his family and allow both him and the club to move on. IF this is definately the case (and hopefully he's given FF an indication of this) get Big Sam in now imo, as Glenn has had a shocker of a season and Big Sam would come here imo, i'd preffer him to other candidates i.e. Roeder, Sven etc!!

No ta we have martins owen and Dyer for pace now up top and although he's a good player i hate all the other shit he brings with him so No thanks imo we desperately need defenders not midfielders not Tevez etc but good defenders first and foremost!

Roeder has one year left on his contract and 'coincendently' Shearer should have completed his coaching badges by then too. I strongly suspect that this is what fred wants to happen. I actually truly belive that Shearer can have the same affect as a manger as Keane has had on Sunderland. Shearer is surely not going to stay out the game and stick to commentating imo, he's more hands on than that, he wanted some time off and he'll have had two years in a years time. I don't think he's doing his coaching badges just in case either. However if he wasn't going to come here (unlikely imo) and maybe start of at a small club (like keane has at scumderland) then Big sam definately gets my vote (as second best option) over Roeder, Sven etc

What facets of Shay's goalkeeping makes him streets ahead? better shot-stopper, Jussi seems to be king of the hollywood save Jussi's handling isn't as good as Shay's more consistant, very rarely do we see Shay make mistakes Better shot-stopper is arguable, fairly similar imo. Handling? What like on crosses and corners? Shay doesn't make huge clangers but he also takes very few risks which doesn't help the defence. Our defence is s*** which dosen't help Shay. Got to agree with dinho on this. Shay is class woulden't swap him for any other keeper, its unbelievably clear to me that it is our defence that is poor.

SELL SELL SELL. A bidding War between Villa and Spurs would be nice 6-8m ?, take anything over 5m. Surely we can get a quick youngster on alot less than half Dyers 4.2m a year wages who will not be the unproffessional crock that he is, its probably our last chance to get decent money for him. I suspect if there's any truth to these rumours, it has something to do with him thinking he's a central midfielder (when he's clearly a RW). Let some other club find this out to their detriment. Try and get a quality player in return i.e. Barry, Berbatov, SWP.

Agree with this, although i'm undecided if Dyer should be on the return to form list. He's good enough on his day but they'd probably only play him RW which he hates (although its cearly his best position imo). Plus he's not proffesional so yes probably right to leave him off.

Really hope your right johnnypd as he was awesome (MOM no less) against Man u at LB, good at Villa as a CB and ok just as shocking as the rest for B'ham. But still thought he was brilliant against Man u so if we don't want to give him a contract we want shooting tbh as the lad could be very good.

At the moment i'd have to go Taylor or Milner after the very impressive season they've had, however the others just haven't played enough yet, although from the little i've seen Krul looks top class, Edgar too and possibly Carroll (although too early to be sure). Hunty i'd like to see given a run next to Taylor at CB (not at LB). Zoggy is a big worry as he has such talent but he might as well of not turned up this season, although his dad did die and best mates Boum and Faye moved on. Hopefully he can get over this and find his form again.

Not yet he still needs leadership himself at times. Parker will be here next season imo, but if he did leave it would be Shay ....or after the very good season he's had shock horror ...Nicky Butt! Taylor will be captain at st James imo, but won't be and shoulden't be just yet.

I wonder if Mourinho would do a straight swap? He was looking to offload SWP in the January offering him in a swap deal for Baros, I think Dyer would do much better than SWP in Chelsea's 4-3-3 formation where as SWP would suit our 4-4-2 much better, Chelsea could also match his wages. 1. Sack Roeder ONLY if we have a better replacement lined up i.e. Shearer or Hiddink. DO NOT JUST SACK HIM and hope for the best. Shearer won't be ready for another year which very interestingly is when Roeders contract ends. If we can get someone like Hiddink in now then i'd do it. 2. Keep Emre and Dyer if they want to stayas who the hell are we going to get better? Get rid of the deadwood i.e. Shambles, Luque, Gooch, Car and Moore and get in a quality LB and CB. 3. I think Owen deserves next season at least. I think he'll also be excellent with Martins or Shola if he stays fit!

If true he's a Cheeky b****** tbh after picking up th 80k a week or whatever for doing very very little, we stick by him get him fit again pick up all the medical tabs and now he wants offski!! Dyers been a huge disapointment imo. Mainly due to injuries although he seems to be over the worst now. He is one of our better players though no doubt when he is actually fit. If we got a a 6-7m + id sell His best position probaby is RW too as he's shite in the middle and not really a striker either.
