  1. Agreed! Milner for me has been our best player this season, he is consistantantly good and occaisionally excellent, puts in alot of graft, always looking for the ball, gets back well and has alot of joy going forward too in both shooting and now crossing aswell (Owen will appreciate these, i could easily imagine owen getting on the end of a few of those near post crosses last night). He is finding his groove and his confidence is growing which is very good for us. He also doesn't seem injury prone which is great. Dumfounding really that with the likes of Luque, Pattison and Car around people have decided to pick on our most consistant player.
  2. Disagree I'd much preffer to play AK, as Fenerbache WERE very unlucky at St James park, we won but they deserved something from the match.

    Glenn Roeder

After a terrible start Roeder is starting to turn things round, so it depends where we finish at the end of the season. In 9th we are still bellow par (so thats what i've voted for). Anything short of a UEFA spot and he's gone backwards. We need a strong finish to this season which i'm being optimistic about. I can't stand it when he picks Bramble and Car over the young lads. Losing against Sheffield United and Fulham at home was a huge low. But Martins after a slow start looks great now, Gooch has everthing to prove but looks like he and Taylor could potentially be a hit. He's not had a good time with injuries its true, but we should still make UEFA with our squad. The Emre situation is a big blow imo as he's a very talented and effective player, this means we are short in midfield. Dyer i like playing up top with Martins not in center midfield.
  4. I'd go: Harper Nobby Taylor Hunty Edgar Milner Butt Dyer?* Duff Le Sib Martins Pav Bramble Baba O'brien Carroll Luque (if he really was up for this game i'd be tempted to start him but all depends on his attitude really) Pattison Not really keen on Dyer playing in CM (far better up top), but with Parker, Emre and Zoggy all out he may be worth one more go there.
  5. Woody Ferdy Terry Cole Campbell
  6. Given Nobby Taylor Gooch Edgar Milner Parker Emre Dyer Owen Martins Harper/Krul Hunty Butt Zoggy Duff Shola
  7. I'd rest Dyer if needs be, as disasterous if he got injured and i'd take Martins off once the game is won. Harper Nobby Taylor Gooch Edgar/Baba Milner Butt Parker Duff Sibi Martins Subs *** Krul/Pav Hunty Edgar/Baba O'brien Dyer Luque Carroll Duff needs to really shine this game!!
  8. Team should now be imo:(if Shay and emre are still injured) Harper Nobby Taylor Gooch Edgar Milner Butt Parker Duff Dyer Martins Subs *** Krul/Pav Hunty Baba O'brien Sibi
  9. Surely the defence should now be NOBBY TAYLOR GOOCH EDGAR with Hunty on the bench. Car and Shambles out!! Milner and Duff on the wings. Dyer and Martins up top.
  10. McClarren will be very lucky to get a result with that team imo. Should stick with Gerrard and drop Lampard (disgrace at the last WC) and bring back Becks. I'd have gone Robbo Neville Ferdy Woodgate Barry Lennon Parker Gerrard Dyer Rooney Crouch Bench Foster Campbell P. Neville Carrick Lampard Barton SWP

    State of the Nation

Agree with most of what you've said except i'd give Duff and Ramage a bit longer to prove themselves personally (but admit their form of late is poor), Moore's going at the end of the season anyway (which is about right). Keep Bramble? Now this is one guy that has proved himself.....a right bloody liability season in and season out for the past 5+ years!!! Why the hell should we keep him? He's is a walking blundering disaster waiting to happen every game, he has all the physical attributes, yes, except one...... and that is his brain!! Its one that can't be fixed and we should have cut our losses a long, long time ago.
  12. I hope that your right! Got a horrible feeling he'll be back playing for us soon though. Hope Duff has a blinder and then continue's that way with us.
  13. Agreed. Shambles and Car shoulden't be anywhere near our team, but i suppose will have to do as back ups for now due to the transfer window. Edgar has looked good the TOO few times we have played him (fantastic MOM debut V Manu). As stated : Nobby Gooch Taylor Edgar is our best line up, Roeder needs to sort this out if he is to survive. Before Fulham i thought 6th place would be a good target to push for, but now this has to be doubtfull. If he continue's with Shambles and Car he should go imo as they are so obviously crap players. Hunty needs more time before people go writting him off completely, half decent back up atm though, he should get better imo.
  14. Beg to differ. Shola causes defenders alot more problems than Le sib does and scores more too (under Roeder). He's better than Le Sib imo. Dyer is crap in CM imo and should be played either RW or whilst Owen is out, up top with Martins as they link up well. Duff has been used just behind the main striker/as a striker on countless times for both Ireland and Chelski. You know better than Jose etc do you? Milner admittedly would be a last resort (out of those named earlier) up front. Although he's been our best our best player in the last two months and is getting better and better all the time. He's a good asset imo
  15. Agreed, there are definately some Mackem WUM's (wind up merchants) on here, brain washing some of the more fickle among us imo.
  16. Agreed! People on here say that Shearer made a mistake coming here!! Only he could possibly answer that. Jesus wept man have you not heard of something called loyalty?? There are those of us who if we did manage to play for the club that we love and support would not leave and play for another club guaranteed trophy's or no bloody trophy's!! Loyalty is a dying thing in football and it sadens me big time seeing greed and disloyalty grow so unbelievably big its actually accepted by some . I admire the Shearers, Le Tissers and Steve Bulls of this world who stayed loyal to their clubs, when they could have taken the bigger club, better pay and trophy's. Players like them should be admired and congratulated for taking a stand. Presumably this loyal player is the one who threatened to leave if he wasn't guaranteed a first team place, right? Pressumably this is a fact that you can prove and not half baked gossip/hearsay?? Who in their right mind would drop Shearer in his hayday anyway (bar Guillit)??

    Darren Bent

£18m for Bent and its refused mackems.gif what is the world coming to??
  18. My thoughts exactly, seems stupid, i thought the whole point of signing a player for say £10m on a 5 year contract was that they'd then be contacted to you for the next 5 years unless a mutual agreement can be met. Stupid bloody rule, so Owen could move next year and then half our bloody team if they wanted to!! Players have far too much power imo This is going to cause problems imo

    Emre Blow

There is the obvious worry that this racist remark storm is the real reason he's still 'injured'. But you have to give him the benefit of the doubt untill you have something concrete and definate on him. As pointed out he does put in the graft for us on the pitch, there's no lack of effort problem and his attendence record is good. I love seeing him play too, top quality player capable of something special.

  21. I know that Glenn has to do whats right for the Toon! But if he really wants to go, we could do more long term harm than good trying to stand in his way and possibly create a bad situation. A happy player is more likely to be a loyal player imo so let him g if he wants to.
  22. If it is a loan deal with no strings attached, then absolutely. Goes without saying. Agreed! If we have Martins, Dyer, Le Sib, Piquionne/Babel plus Owen and Shola back in 2-3 months time plus. Duff, and Milner can play up top too if desperate, that'll do for me for now! Right now lets get a top bloody LB in more importantly!
  23. Agreed! Very talented player needs a good run in the team to get back to his best.
  24. you WANT him to play for us?? Better than a few of our other defenders. Doubtful, i reckon. He's maybe as good a defender as Ramage, and about as consistent. But slower. I agree with Northern Monkey on this.
