Curbishly would be a half decent appointment but i'd love Shearer and/or Speed personally. Ranieri or Houllier would be nightmare appointments. Not Sven either as i don't think the english players like him too much, Owen especially.

Given Taylor Moore Ramage Duff Dyer Parker Butt Zoggy Milner Martins Subs Harper Huntingdon Nobby Sibierski Pattison

An unfit Shola hmmmmmmm tempting proposition to play him.....NOT!!!!!!!!!! For me its: Given Taylor Moore Ramage Duff Dyer Parker Butt Zoggy Milner Martins Subs Harper Huntingdon Nobby Sibierski Luque/Pattison

Frustrate them in midfield and hit them with pace when we can, Sib to try and hold the ball up for our players breaking from our midfield. Moore and Bramble are to slow and clumbsy against the likes of Henry Van Persie and Fabregas etc Harper Milner Taylor Ramage Baba Martins Dyer Parker Zoggy Duff Sibierski Given Moore Nobby Luque Butt (bring on if anyone is struggling)

I've voted keep (for now) however if we had a better replacement lined up and 5m+ for him then i'd obviously sell. Learner will obviously want to splash the cash soon and villa love Milner so we should be on the lookout for a better replacement i.e. SWP and hold out to get 5m+ for Milner. Watch us sell him for 3m and get someone worse though! bluecry.gif

Our manager may need changing as he's certainly not getting us results. Our forwards are playing very poorly and struggling to find the net and defensively Car and Bramble in particular are shite, but our midfield........... is actually pretty good, midfield is not an area that needs strengthening and both Parker and Emre are very good quality players, we have the right personel in midfield its up to Roeder to get the best out of them. Why you've decided to pick on Parker and Emre seems a bit odd, entitled to your opinion and all that, but i really struggle to understand why you think its Emre 's and Parkers fault when they are clearly two of our better performers. Are you trying to divert blame away from someone else? Who would you play instead? I may be wrong mate, but the implication of your post is that I'm suddenly having a go at Parker and Emre. If that's what you're saying I can tell that isn't the case. I've been on about Parker being over-rated since he was signed. I've also been on about the partnership with Emre being poor since the early days of that partnership. I know not many appear to agree, but I don't know why anyone is surprised at the possibility given they were signed by the worst Newcastle manager in living memory. In their place, and subject to being fit, I'd use Dyer and Butt in the centre, and I say that while still believing that CM is not the best position for Dyer, where he leaves large gaps due to a lack of discipline. I'd still do it though. After that I'd go with Butt and Emre. After that I'd go with Butt and Zog. Cheers anyway. We don't have to agree. I don't think we will agree on this one. I know you said subject to being fit but Dyer never is so that kinda rules him out. However even when he was fit Dyer was very poor in the center as he hardly ever played to his strengths i.e. using his pace running into space, at players, hiting teams on the break, he and jenas used to play it sideways backwards and it used to annoy the hell out of me. Dyer is effective up front because of his pace but his best position imo is the one he's famous for not liking i.e. the Right Wing because his finishing is not so good. Emre is still highly regarded in Italy still and has been very stronly linked with Bayern lately as well as being Turkey's best player and named in Pele' s 100 greatest players alive. He's one of our very good players. Parker though is easily our best player at the moment. Our best asset on the pitch. What do you find wrong with Parker? I know you haven't mentioned him but completely out of interest, did you not rate Shearer in his last few years here? Parker does absolutely nothing creative in my view. Shearer should have gone the season before last. Newcastle should have moved him on after we finished 3rd. That's not to say he was shite, just that he was well past his best. Parker is similar to the Makelle's (arguably better going forward) and not as good but in the same mould as Roy Keane. Every decent team needs a real workhorse in the middle of the pitch Parker is a very good one imo as like Makelle and Keane he is not flamboyantly creative but just does the simple things very very well. He was one of our only bright lights last year and indeed this year too just as Shearer and Given frequently were in years gone by.

Good Post. I don't see Klinsmann leaving California TBH. He is being interviewed by both the US and Mexico for their vacant manager positions. In the current situation (I am assuming that we are referring to the current standing of the club) I can't see taking a gamble on someone inexperienced as being a wise move. Granted, getting someone of the calibre of Benitez, Hitzfield, or Mourinho is slim... there will be some that are possible (Ranieri or even Daum). There is no doubt that Shearer would command respect. But how far would that get us. It would most likely cause a turn around in the way that we play (passion, agression, etc.) and that would get us back up to the table. But the main problem that we have currently with Roeder is his tactics. Would Shearer have a better approach in that particular aspect of our game? Souness had our team play with passion on certain occasions (our game against Arsenal comes to mind) which got us the result for that day. But it wasn't enough. I'd doubt we'd get klinsman too (unfortunately) i think it'd be either Shearer or Sven more likely than not. Not convinced about Sven's tactics either, although he has lots and lots of experience, Trophies and success as a club manager . I'd preffer we took the gamble on Shearer personally even though i accept Sven would be a safer bet. Shearers tactics may be fantastic, he's a rookie manager yes but everyone's got to start somewhere. Looking at Martin o'neil and villa makes me regret big time us not geting him, as we have far better players than villa, but it just goes to show what a massive difference a good manager makes. Anyway best look forward amd not back. Big sam would do for me too!! He always seems to get the best out of what he has.

Collins John How much do we think he'll cost though? Mexes i haven't seen enough of but i'm weary of splashing more cash on someone who may not get to grips with the Premiership. I think i'd preffer Premiership tried and tested as we can't afford any more gambles like Luque/ Boumsong/Martins etc If we were thinking of splashing out 6-7m on a defender then i preffer we spent it on somone like the excellent Luke young as we are desperate for a RB first and foremost imo then a CB then a 'Big man' CF imo.

I'd have no problem at all with Shearer taking over, Keegan didn't do TOO bad a job for us did he??? and he'd never managed before. I'd preffer giving someone like shearer a crack at it who is Toon through and through. Off the top of my head for example,Klinsman hadn't managed before and he did much better than most expected in Germany 2006 (they played a fantastic attacking style too if not Shearer i woulden't mind him over here if he leaves California), van basten hadn't managed before and he got the Holland job. No guarantee that Shearer will be a success, there was no guarantee keegan would be a success either, its a risk but one i'd be willing to take ! you know why?- Beacause Shearer instantly commands respect, if i was player i'd really want to play for him and i'd repect what he had to say, Shearer will do what he thinks right he's an honest bloke but he woulden't take any shit he lives and breaths football and Newcastle he will make the big decisions not shirk them i.e. like Keegan dropping Cole and Clark selling David Kelly, Cole etc When we went on that fantastic run after Soumess had left and Shearer and Roeder were put in Temporary charge i suspect that Shearer may have had alot more to do with our success than Roeder or perhaps they just worked well as a team, anyways since Shearer left and Roeders been on his own the results have left with Shearer. If he were to come back i'd not be surprised to see the results and performances improve. Maybe a Shearer Speed combination or Shearer with an experienced head but for me i'd love to see us take a gamble on him. Some people seem to have alread. Who do you really think we could get in anyhow? We are not going to get a Mourinho, Benitez, Wenger, Fergie Etc. O'neil's taken now if Le Guen can't sort out Rangers then he probably won't be any good here. Hitzfeld i doubt we'd get. Imo we are going to have to unearth our own gem and Shearer could well be that Gem as a coach.

Lesser of two evils excactly right!! Hopefully in Jan we'll have more to choose from. I'd love Titus to come good but i've been saying that for years now, the guy gives me nightmares, he has a very poor footballing brain and at critical times switches off and makes terrible decisions and is poor under pressure. He's had long enough now (too long imo), its time to get rid this Jan before he costs us any more. I dislike Car as he's slow and ineffective going forward so agree there possibly play moore CB with Ramage and Taylor RB its terrible that we don't seem to have some up and coming kid who can play there as Taylor's and Ramage's best positions are CB altough Taylor's pretty canny at RB too.
-
We'll have to agree to differ on Shambles as i'd rather play huntingdon (whom i've never seen play) . Agree with you that Car and baba are poor (we should definatley get two good fullbacks in jan) but if its a choice between playing Car and Baba or shambles then Car (who hasn't been as bad as i predicted he's be so far this season) and baba (who's been poorer than i thought) it is for me. Although I like the way your option gives us alot of height i can just see Vassell or whoever skinning shambles over and over. Taylor and Ramage have got good potential and just need to be coached correctly, they love the toon show real passion, they are quicker than Moore and Shambles too and i love just how commited they are to our cause flying into tackles. i'd have moore on the bench just in case as he's far from brilliant but a safe option. Understand why you'd drop the Zog not sure i agree just yet, but you may be right perhaps dropping him may do him good get his hunger and drive back. Don't think i'd do it just yet.
-
The 3 amigos on after 65 mins to inject a bit of pace definately! Zog, Dyer and Martins should be able to cause all sorts of problems fresh legged at that stage of the game!
-
True zoogy's not on his best form at the moment, certainly not as bad as Shambles though who gets in your team? If the worst did happen and we went behind and we were looking a bit lethargic, remember when Bobby used to make those trebble substutions? Imagine fresh legged Dyer, Martins and zoggy being thrown on together? I'd be tempted to start them if i knew they were 100%
-
I'd go: Given Car Taylor Ramage Baba Milner Parker Emre Duff The Sib Rossi Harper Moore Zoggy Dyer Martins
-
Where's Zoggy like??
-
Voted Ramage as i think he's very underated as a CB : But also like Given, Parker and Taylor alot too. Emre, Zoggy and Milner are pretty good sometimes too, Milner has grown on me the last few games for his hard work on the pitch. Martins is a grafter too and we need to stick with him a little longer once/if he finds his confidence he'll be pretty good imo
-
Obviously no cup and stay in the Prem!
-
I'd keep our midfield players we have the right amount and they are very good too. Midfield's not a problem. We need a better (shoulden't be hard) replacement CB for Shambles (who we should wash our hands of once and for all before he costs us any more games/points etc than he already has). Another very good RB (luke young or a young up and coming would be ideal). Get Shola his operation too so we need another 'Big man' striker too. Then we have: PAV HARPER KRUL GIVEN HUNTINGDON CAR MOORE NEW CB BERNARD NEW RB TAYLOR RAMAGE BABA O'BRIEN SOLANO BUTT PATTISON ZOGGY MILNER PARKER EMRE DUFF LUQUE NEW 'big man, STRIKER THE SIB ROSSI (till jan) MARTINS DYER? (possibly) **Ameobi and Owen to come back too. The players we have on the whole are very very good, we need at least a couple of good additions (a RB , CB and a CF) then the rest is up to glenn to get them playing in the right way.
-
Duff not good enough even for the bench?
-
We need to really attack Sheff united. KRUL CAR TAYLOR RAMAGE DUFF MILNER PARKER EMRE ZOGGY DYER ROSSI PAV Harper still not 100% MOORE (if not then BRAMBLE if Moore's groin has gone) BUTT LUQUE (Looked knackered so maybe rest him) SIB In case we need some height, bring him on maybe after an hour.
-
this is what i was thinking but not what i want to see Same here, I'd actually chuck Luque in for Emre to keep him fresh for Saturday (like Skirge has done) and I'd love to see O'Brien get a run out at some point. Fairly sure we'll see Milner on the left and N'Zogbia in the middle though whatever happens. Same team although, i'd play Bernard LB instead Ramage and Ramage CB instead of Shambles, but i doubt Glenn will.
-
I'd go with the best we have availible (imo bellow), However Glenn will no doubt go with Bramble, Nobby, Car. Glen seems to be keeping his cards close to his chest on this one i hope Emre and Ameobi make it. Harper Taylor Moore Ramage Baba Milner Parker Butt Zoggy Sibierski Duff Subs Krul Car Huntingdon Bernard Pattison Solano Luque
