Woulden't be too disasterous if we just got Remy as long as we got Cisse sorted again. Which is an horrendous situation for us. I'd be relived if we just got Remy as he is the one player we really need the most, as he can create. No point having 2 or 3 out and out goal scorers if we are not creating anything for them. Plus remy could play as the main striker as well as any of the attacking positions. Perhaps try Goufran up top and Remy on the wing too or just behind if AP opts for 442. He just gives us creative options.

Agreed. A real injection of pace and skill. Presuming Cabaye will be sold. I'd be tempted to line up: Krul Debuchy. Taylor Colo santon Jonas/Tiote Marveaux. Sissoko HBA. Sinclair/Goufran Remy Our fastest ever team ! Speed tastic !!! No point having all this pace if we are simply going to bypass the midfield anyway with a hopeful hoof. We should be sliding balls through on the deck all the time with these players to run on to. Absolutely no reason why we cannot play really nice flowing, quick football with this team. Hang on, I forgot Pardew was our manager for a minute. Agreed. Even Pardew coulden't play hoof ball with that team. So much movement speed, skill and opposition coulden't just stifle us by doubling up on HBA. Ball retention is definitely something we need to work on.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if Cabaye is still a newcastle player next season. I'd be over the moon with just Remy and Sinclair personally as then our midfield and forward line could be: Tiote/Jonas Marveaux Sissoko HBA Sinclair/Goufran Remy We then have Goufran and Cisse whom i both rate pushing the front three for their places. I view this as the absolute minimum requirement and we should move heaven and earth to get Remy and Sinclair over the line as we are clearly desperate for this type of quality up front. Great if we signed Bent too and wouldn't be surprised if we did get Bent, if he did really well for us and started banging the goals in again. I'd just like us to try this team above packed with exciting Speed and Skill. Remy is obviously pivotal to this. Also Sinclair looks like he's a really exciting player and could be just what we need and being a British left winger by trade should be able to track back when required too you would hope. In midfield even if we lose Cabaye we still have Sissoko, Marveaux, Tiote, Jonas, Anita and Bigi which looks really strong, fast and creative. Add to that Santon and Debuchy getting down the flanks as well as they do too and i'm optimistic we have a really good exciting team. Santon needs to improve defensively he switches off now and again, but is very impressive and creative going forward. We also need Pardew to really grow a pair and really go attack teams with the above. Let them worry about us a lot more and don't sit back and defend as much.

Players like Carroll, Crouch, Benteke etc etc would have a field day against us with Mbwiba Colo partnership. Taylor and Colo would work a lot better as a pair than Mbwiba and Colo. Really don't understand why Taylor gets so much stick on here. He's a really good player. Just because a player has a foreign name doesn't make him good. Mbwiba still has it all to prove in the premiership.

Junior Hoilett could also be a good signing for us. Was class in a horrendous Blackburn team, a bit quieter last year with QPR mind you.

Spot on Ian. Yes he can play 442 or 433 has pace, power, skill, scores and above all creates which is something we are really really lacking. If HBA gets injured yet again we are going to really struggle again. I am all for signing Bent as well but Remy or similar comes first in my opinion.

I like Jonas he's very fit, a real work horse possibly the hardest working player with Tiote, quick, intelligent, reads the game well (unlike Obertan) and has excellent defensive play and very flexible as can play in a number of positions. Ok on the flip side he doesn't get forward nearly as much as he should/used to (pardews instructions possibly ?) and his passing/final ball is not always the best either (he spends a lot of the time on the left when he is right footed). At the very least he's a very good sub. We do need a squad and we need players like him in it.

Agree with this Bent was quality. Ok his form has dipped but he's got the talent to be a quality player again. I'd be happy if we signed him as competition for Cisse. Because if Cisse gets injured/ is horrendously out of form he'll put bloody Ameobi on !! Although as has been mentioned i can't really see them forming a good partnership as they are too similar and neither really has that all important pace. A player like Loic Remy or better is who they'll need to strike a partnership up with. i.e. someone with speed who can CREATE and chip in with the scoring. Think its plain to see if HBA or Goufran get injured we are going to really struggle to create AGAIN. Spot on me thinks. Bar possibly Simpson. Simpson would be actually unlucky not start if he doesn't as he's been pretty good lately and you shouldn't drop form players. However another part of me thinks he's as good as gone in the summer so let's keep Debuchy (and Cabaye) happy. Tough call there really. I'd be tempted though to stick with Simpson.

Attacking midfielder as well for me i would have Cabaye and Sissoko in the pivot. Marveaux? Yes not a priority we are flush with attacking midfielders as Sissoko, Cabaye Marveaux and HBA can all play there. If Cisse and/or more likely HBA get injured we are struggling big time in those positions.

Wow yes this has to be tried. Big IF that HBA is fit enough. Could really cause them all sorts of problems with this. Could be Marveaux's best position and if we can get him firing on all cylinders could be awesome. Marveaux has the talent and ability to be really good.

Elliot Simpson Taylor Mbiwa. Anita Cabaye Jonas Marveaux. Sissoko Gouffran Cisse Thought Jonas was far better centrally than Anita when he came on for him against Anzi. With Tiote out we need his work rate, defensive qualities and pace in the middle. Marveaux has been setting Cisse up lately and must play. If Debuchy, santon and Haidara out then it's between Anita and Perch for LB Also would love to see young Campbell on at some point he's got nothing to lose in this sort of game where we are big time underdogs.

Yes great passing straight to Anzi players on not just one but several occasions that could easily have cost us the game. I think he could be very good but is still a bit early to say. Thought he was one of our poorer players last night for the above reason. Taylor was MOM by a country mile. If Taylor had a foreign name, was a new signing from some African country via France some on here would be coming in their spiderman panties over his performance last night.

Not an Obertan fan but he has improved. Still gives the ball away when there is an easy pass on which frustrates the hell out of me. Off the bench behind campbell who should be on instead of Shola when we need to hit teams on the break when we are ahead!
