I'd love to see him get minutes tonight. Pardew tactics earlier in the season was terrible. We'd go a goal up or sometimes still be level then Pardew would decide to defend push everyone back and lob completely ineffective high balls to Shola in effect giving the opposition the ball straight back and invited wave after wave of attacks and pressure whilst offering next to nothing back in attack. At least try and hit them on the break with Pace (i.e. Campbell instead of Shola and with fast players down the flanks) and give them something to worry about. Cisse's finishing has been woeful as well so could have done with some competition at times. Yes definitely Campbell instead of Ranger earlier in the season too.

Like this team although Saylor is one of my favourite players so hope he starts. I expect he will too. Difficult decision as we have 3 top quality CB's now assuming for the moment that Mbiwa is as good as most on here are making out. Not massively keen on Obertan but if we need someone off the bench i'd far prefer Obertan to Shola.

We were under the cosh and in the lead, Obertan would have provided a useful outlet to hit them on the break, much more so than Ameobi trying to hold the ball up for nobody else to join in. Don't know why he wasn't even on the bench, unless he was injured, but then a place needed to be made for Willo As it was, I'd much rather have seen Sammy than Shola. The latter only has a use if we're chasing a game with 20 minutes to go and we're just pumping long balls into the danger area nowadays. Could not agree with this and the posts above anymore. If teams go all out attack on you. You hit them on the counter attack with pace not hoof it up to Shola Ameobi who loses it almost immediately and allows the opposition wave after wave of relentless attacks putting yourself under ridiculous unnecessary pressure. This has been happening all season and Pardew is a disgrace for doing this just because he likes Shola. Obertan wasn't on the bench last night so he should have played Sammy or Campbell should have been on the bench as the kid has speed and knows where the back of the net is. Angry with Pardew and losing faith and patience with him. Pandering to a very good player like Ba in order to keep him was poor decision but you can understand it to a degree because you want to keep top players like Ba happy ideally. But Shola ffs grow a pair Pardew! He's a terrible player and pinning our hopes on him is asking for relegation AGAIN !!

Why the bloody hell do we not try and hit teams on the break when they are throwing the kitchen sink at us is beyond me. Campbell instead of Shola please Pardew sort it out.

Think Santon is pretty good going forward but has been very poor defensively this season despite having similar physical attributes to Bale. He is overrated by many on here in my opinion. If his surname was Simpson he probably would have been lynched by now the amount of goals he has cost us. Whilst i woulden't be hugely gutted if he was sold. I would genuinely be disappointed as we do need strength in depth and he may well improve now he has healthy competition from Haidara. Hopefully these new signing may spark others into life as well i.e. Cisse and Tiote etc There are quite a few players who simply aren't good enough and Santon has been comparable to Williamson in terms of performances in my opinion this season. Some on here seem to be much harder on the English players that the foreigners.

Gouffran in the centre, Marv and Obertan either side. Ben Arfa will be back soon also. Oh and don't forget about Shola Honestly don't see why Campbell isn't used in these situations. He has a wonderful burst of speed on him that would be much more difficult to deal with if you're a tired CB/FB than a lumbering Shola. I have been thinking exactly the same thing re Campbell. Looks quick and seems to know where the back of the net is. Would love to see him come off the bench. Shola is slow spends half his time diving on the floor and lets face it pants 95% of the time. We could easily get relegated again if we pin our hopes on him too much. Cisse i believe is a good player but really out of form and totally lacking in confidence. We need him to get back into last years groove. I'd stick with him for now but if he keeps missing chance after chance as he has been doing why not try campbell from the bench instead of Shola or as direct competition for Cisse.

Although astonished and delighted at our very impressive and exciting acquisitions in defence and midfield. We only signed Goufran up front who looks decent don't get me wrong. We have a good back 5 and great midfield both with decent ish back up's, but if Goufran limps off after 15 mins we are have Obertan and Jonas either side of an out of form Cisse : ( Signing Aubameyang or even Thauvin would round things off perfectly as we are still very light up top. At the moment First choice front three = HBA* Cisse Goufran Back up: Sammy Shola Obertan/Jonas * = Currently injured. As i say if Goufran imps off early our forward line is back to Sammy Cisse Obertan/Jonas which is pants!

Taking Marveaux off for Perch to defend a 1 -0 lead was another really really shocking decision by Pardew. Can understand the Cabaye one. Pinning our fortunes on starting Shola up top is just asking for relegation he is very poor and always has been. Obertan is pants. Williamson also poor. We need Taylor and most of all HBA back, Taylor, HBA, Cabaye and perhaps Marveaux could save us. Get a new left winger/striker with pace and skill in or ....get relegated. Paying Remy double suddenly doesn't look like too bad a decision now. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If there's no bargains left we may have to pay more to save ourselves at this stage as we are in complete free fall. How much is staying in the premier league worth ? £40 million or something is it ? QPR will soon be closing the gap on us and we'll be swapping places if this continues. We need to start: Krul Debuchy Taylor Colo Santon Tiote/Bigi Cabaye Marveaux HBA New Winger/Striker Cisse If our very good (imo) but very out of form striker Cisse continues to miss chance after chance try young campbell, he as least seems to know where the back of the net is.

Cabaye is the obvious choice and where my vote goes. Taylor or Jonas vice captain. Taylor would have more of a shout for captain if he'd actually play more.
