I get this argument to some degree, but there must be some exceptions

I think HBA scouted himself tbf
  4. I'd add Simeone to that list, too. Better than Rafa? Klopp & Wenger it's a no. Ancelotti & Simeone maybe. Lets see how Guardiola goes in the PL, I have a feeling he will struggle. Simeone maybe. Wenger no. Klopp yes. Ancelotti definitely. I'd rather Benitez than Guardiola too. Benitez over Pep. I might revisit this in a year but aye he is. Pep has been handed teams that are some of the best ever. Benitez has won trophies with second tier sides. Won the CL with f***ing Liverpool ffs. How comes Barca only got success again once they signed Neymar and Suarez then? absolutely ridiculous some of the criticisms he gets tbh. Only man in the history of football i can think of that consistently wins league titles and gets to at least the CL semis and if he doesn't get the treble it's not considered enough. Don't ever recall Ferguson, Ancelotti or Mourinho ever getting the same level of expectations or criticism and they had some pretty f***ing amazing teams too, hell Ancelotti won the league once with Milan. All the managers you've mentioned have succeeded with teams that wouldn't be in the top 3 in Europe though. That's why imo.

Whatever has happened since, Pep created one of the best teams ever at Barcelona, he didn't have it handed to him at all. He set them up that way and he had them playing in that style. Bayern was a very easy gig for him and he didn't prove anything, but that shouldn't taint what he did at Barcelona, because it really was a massive deal. Rijkaard put that team together imo.
  6. Bruce Rioch, nailed on imo.
  7. LVG on a proper ego trip right off the bat on the on-pitch interview
  8. Post match interview : "Sometimes it's harder playing against 10 than 11, and that's what it was today".
  9. Commentator : "Masterstroke from Pardew"
  10. Off the bench, Pardew the England manager, master tactician.

    Andros Townsend

    Daily Mail tops it.
  13. If he couldn't bring himself to put in a half arsed shift against three quarters of the PL, how on earth do you think he'll be motivated enough to put in a performance against the likes of Burton ?

Southampton are a bit Jekyll and Hyde like
  15. Ugh, took me a minute to realise which way around it was.
  16. He's apparently on the standby list. Yet these two c***s are leading the pack like they're captains. Landmines, innit.
  17. I think Rafa would have told him to play with fire in his belly again and leave everything on the pitch, being the last game of the season. And at his young age, took it a bit too far.

I know, even as I write it, sign for a season ticket.. I can feel myself thinking.... he's just going to beat me up again ffs Rafa is basically like a new watch..

I have to agree with this - it's very much a cut-your-losses situation. I think that yes Ashley is public enemy no.1, but with Rafa we've got a chance of enjoying ourselves again.
  20. This season he was. Not surprising when the manager didn't play him for his other team in the Eredivisie.
