It's been a problem for this club for 10 years now, give or take, except in the Championship season, since SBR was sacked, and shortly after we came back up. There's just an ethos of rot and going through the motions that isn't being shaken loose. We really need more British-based players who understand what the club means to the fans, not the mercenaries who joined to be put in the PL shop window that turn it on for Sky and scouts attending the big matches. We've gone so far one way in this regard it's hard to see it reverting any time soon. The Championship season was good, because regardless of the ability, we had Barton, Nolan, Smith, Butt, Harper, Carroll et al dragging the others through the games against the Championship dross on cold Friday nights.

He's a wing back, never a fullback. He's a left back. I'd prefer a left back that can actually defend.

Steve Stone hasn't worked for us for 6 months

That video brings a tear to my eye, that's what he wanted to get from Newcastle - the adulation, adoration and acceptance from the fans. And he could have had it if it weren't for Alan Fucking Pardew.

Mbemba is in everyone's team Not hard to be better than every other centre half in the squad in the past 5 years.

Considering it's Mourninho's tagline

Just a sec Dave, I think I've got a few 4:3 monitors at work in the WEEE cage I can haul out to make use of that epic wallpaper

Aye, catches keepers off guard. Lloris should've saved it though but you can say that for a number of Perez's goals because he hits it so early. Messi is the king of the early shots imo, great to see goals like that.

I think benching them both for today is a sound strategy if he wants to ask them for more than they have been giving us. Place not guaranteed and all that, play well to keep the shirt etc. Now it's their shirts to lose. Pardew would have one of them benched for Villa to keep Cissé up top for sure, there was no logic at all in his selections. He got the reaction he was after from the two players and he got the result. There's only so much that can be done with a team containing Colback, Coloccini, Dummett as starters tbh. Still much happier with McClaren at the helm than Pardew, beggars can't be choosers and the next manager will probably be Alan Curbishly so I'm happy to get behind him for now.

4 years of Pardew hoofball requires more than just a rinse and squeeze to remove apparently.
-
Might be his insurance company.

Absolutely ecstatic Pardew won't be the first team coach when he returns to us.
-
The quickest players never actually run the fastest, it's always the ones who 'drop the ball' so to speak and have to leg it to make amends and get recorded. I'm sure there's at least 50 players in the PL faster than Dummett. This is why defenders and shit players are at the top of the list.

Sorry I thought it was FOTM to blame Carr for any new signing not hitting the ground running like Michu.
-
He'll be here longer in some capacity than any of the current playing squad - director etc. Looking forward to when he goes behind the scenes because that seems to be where his skills lie.
-
Who would have thought the captain of the Eredivisie-winning Ajax team a couple of seasons ago could be of any use to us. Carr needs shooting.
-
I'd drive him to Newcastle myself in a heartbeat.
