Certainly, the best 'keepers have very few weaknesses. And Shay does indeed. He's in the top 5 in the Prem, no bother, but nowhere near the top 10 in the world. Tell me 10 goalkeepers better than Shay Given? Off the top of my head, in no particular order, and a mixture of home and world players, if I could have Given or any of the following players at my club, it wouldn't be Given: Cech, Buffon, Lehmann, Van Der Saar, Casillas, Abbondanzieri, Jaskalainen, Coupet, Foster, Boruc. Don't get me wrong, Given has his definite strengths, he's a good keeper, but - as others have mentioned in this thread, like all but the absolute best keepers - he has his weaknesses too. To suggest he's in the top 10 in the world is blinkered thinking. IMO Given is better then the last 5 including Lehmann

Little unfair to say he has completely failed but so far he is certainly in the "could try harder" category! Aye.So far he didnt fail completely but in the summer if we didnt sign at least a new LB i'll be pissed Except the manager will decide which positions to fill and who he wants to fill them. He may be happy with Babayaro and he may think Duff can play there as well. Bernard MAY return to full fitness, only Roeder and the club's staff will know those things. If we lose Emre plus any other players that right now we don't expect to leave the priorities may change. We still need at least one striker plus a good attacking central midfielder imo. If it was 4 years ago nothing but right now im not so sure he can do the job.He didnt play at the top level for i dont how long... And why do u think we need another striker? IMO our priorities in the summer should be top defender(Curtis Davies),LB(Bridge?),CM(Giles Barnes),maybe another CM if Emre leaves Bernard left the club in 2005. We only have 2 real PL quality strikers, Owen and Martins. We have zero,thats 0=zero quality LB I don't agree. With what you dont agree? Babayaro=injury prone,when he is fit he is no more than average Bernard=he hasnt played in a top level for 2 years or more

I think the big test for Roeder is this summer If he didnt manage to streghten the squad as it should be we all can say then that he failed at this

So you think with our injuries and one striker we should be breaking top 5? :lol: My main issue with Roeder is the transfer market though. If he was limited financially by Fat Fred its not Roeder's fault

Who's to say Rafa will still be there? Why wouldnt be there? Its not like they are fighting for relegation

At the end of the day he is still average...but on the other hand im 100% sure that he wants this club to go into the right direction and he cares about the club too.He is not scared to play some of the academy boys and he will do that in the future i think.For some reason(i dont know is it because of fat fred or not)he is not willing to buy players who are overated.He is interested in young talented players which is i think good thing for the club.Whether we'll be able to sign these players is other subject.Some of these thing are pretty positive and until there isnt any managerwho is better than him and wants this job i'll stick with him

I was never really impressed with Emre regarding his play so i wont miss him Sold him in the summer and buy Giles Barnes And when you looked at Emre behaviour im not really surprised about this incident Wherever there was any scandal during a game Emre was there too At the Watford game in the Carling cup he wanted to fight some Watford players and Roeder had to calm him dawn

Im not sure abot its 2 or 3 bookings when you are suspended If its 2 Martins shouldnt play in the second leg.Butt and Milner were also booked
