  1. Maybe they have improved. FWIW last time Rosenborg met Astana they won 7-1 at home That not the same year Celtic got to the knockout stages of the Champions league?
  2. Brilliant election result. Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall as Blair and Co saw the results come in! Corbyn and team have been outstanding. Many already rightly said his policies were vote winners but to achieve what they have despite their own party working against them is really impressive. Turnout amongst the young extremely high too. The British establishment is as weak as ever. They won in 2014 based on lies and a campaign of fear which has come right back to them. Brexit has been a racist, thuggish mess that has pulled them into far right territory and left us isolated. They then tried to defeat Corbyn through lies and smears. They have run out of ideas and even much of the uninitiated are seeing that. Time to get in there and shake it up to it's core.

That's my colleague and good friend Alec Valtos Macdonald doing that pronunciation. He does do a very good gchhhh. Saw this recently, a young guy from Singapore who taught himself Gaelic no bother. There's hope for us all! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-39187225
  4. Really? It was much, much better than I anticipated. Hell of a lot to take in though and is at breakneck speed. I had to have a real think about it all afterwards because of that and like yourself I'm a huge fan of the characters and Welsh's stories. Some of the commentary of modern life I thought absolutely hit the nail on the head. I loved the way it is completely different to the first and glad it was nothing like Porno, which is not one of the strongest stories. If they had tried to copy the original's feel and darkness then it would have failed miserably, people change and stories need to change with that. Was actually crying laughing at some of it but I did think at the time some of it is very Scottish humour that I'm not sure other people will find as funny, for example the British loyalist scene. Again, fair play to them for doing that as they know it won't 'sell' as well. Whole cinema was cheering and clapping at the end. One s*** bit - Welsh's cameo role, stood out like a sore thumb. I dunno, it just didn't feel right. It was a weak plotline and Begbie man... that was a pathetic attempt at reviving the character, not helped by the s*** storyline for him in this film. Again he was a parody and comedic figure. In the first film and the book, he's a deadly serious character, with depth and the comedy come form his total lack of self awareness about himself and others. Remember in the first film... "you ken me, I'm no one for trouble, but..." or words to that effect. The book highlighted his character even further obviously. Renton's character was all over the place and Sickboy, it's as if the actor behind him was nervous about being Sickboy again and that's how it came off to me. Sickboy was a confident character. Obviously 20 years have passed, but it was like a very very different Sickboy. Don't get me wrong, as a stand alone filmed it was canny enough in terms of entertainment, but given just how great the first one was, this was a huge disappointment. It could have been Layercake had we not been well versed in the characters and story, that's how pish it was. For me anyway. Ahrrr I was so disappointed. It was too fast paced, done so to skip over the shitty plotline. And where was f***ing Born Slippy? We had the film dipping into the first one for various scenes, but they left out BS? Honestly, I actually felt robbed after the film ended. It's a very poor, clearly marketed attempt at a sequal which falls way short. The book is a f***ing masterpiece and the film not far behind, this is kind of like injecting yourself with shitty smack I imagine, you get the hit, but it's s***. Oh well... Just watched it again, this time completely sober. First time I was close to pissing myself for the last 20 mins which certainly detracted from the experience. I think it's probably an excellent film, once I see it again in a few years I'll decide on that. Feels like it is now anyway. It is certainly far from perfect but the first one was close to it for me so it's always a tough comparison. Almost in tears at one Begbie moment this time round(not a funny moment), something to do with father/son relationships I suppose. The acting is outstanding at times, Begbie and Spud are more alive than ever. I am so glad they were this bold with it, would have been so easy to go completely commercial and linear and live off the first. It's still very much an 'indy' film and all the better for it. The whole play on modern life and nostalgia is bang on and the way the story intertwines with various things which can't be mentioned without spoiler is more like a play than a film. I think to get some of it properly you possibly have to have read a fair bit of his books, not sure on that one though and interested to hear what people have to say about it. The cameo is shit though, completely fucking shit. Overall delighted with it, a real breath of fresh air in the stale commercial film world.

  6. Yeah, better thanks. Got a nasty excess to pay but small change considering both OK. Could have been much, much worse considering a number of factors. Walked away with just cuts and bruises, (my brother's!)car written off on Inverness - Ullapool road after hitting ice, skidding and rolling after hitting verge. I was knocked out briefly but my girlfriend wasn't and managed to wake me. To top it off there was a blizzard at the time but luckily another car wasn't far behind us and gave us shelter until ambulance arrived. Was a hell of a shock and something hope to never experience again but just very thankfull it turned out the way it did. Have driven to Skye and back since from Glasgow which is good to get it out of the system a bit. That's a hell of a long and often very empty road once you're through Garve (not sure where you were, of course, but I can't recall anything other than mountains and lochs between Garve and Ullapool and it must be a good 30 miles or so?), good job there was somebody not far behind you Scary stuff man, glad you got through as (relatively) lightly as you have. Yeah, was just after the big loch with the massive hydro dam. About 20 mins form Ullapool, I've really tried not to imagine what would have happened if it had been coming into Loch Broom. It wasn't even a big bend or anything, just started slipping coming out of one and before I knew it was all over the place and that was it. Actually overtook the person that came behind us, fucking stupid thing to do given the circumstances. Glad they were there though as no other car went past for quite a while. You live and you learn, hope to never experience anything like that again and won't be driving up in conditions like that. It's just not an easy country to cross at the height of winter to see your family though.

  8. I'll say it instead then. He is a better manager than Deila All of my Celtic supporting friends said Deila was well out of his depth and football was overall not great. He was also originally intended to be assistant manager. Rodgers is a huge improvement.
  9. I'm more referring to style of play, having Celtic score goals is not exactly hard in that league. You watch Celtic much like? Clearly not!
  10. Went off the road today badly and have both escaped relatively unscathed. Hopefully learnt a valuable lesson but feel deeply guilty about it and has topped off a rough year.
  11. Wonder if their chairman actually believes that expansive football bollocks or if he is just using PArdew tactics with their fans. Either way he sounds like a fucking tube too.

    Films in the pipeline

With this and T2 next year, genuinely excited for some big name films for the first time in ages.
  13. Not even a yellow imo. The straight red rule for two footed air lunges is fair enough but there is a massive difference between flying through the air with intent and that kind of challenge. Easy target because he's a big guy, was a good challenge and terrible decision.
  14. To their "rivals" as well. Think I'd laugh myself into an early grave if Gayle and Murray helped us and Brighton up while those mugs went down. Aye, that Eagles/Seagulls thing. No idea what's going on there, but it exists. This is news to me, wtf!
