    João Pedro

Wow this is gonna get expensive like if it happens…. This I’m 100% behind though. Obviously different positions but I’m all for this, while the opposite for Elanga for the prices mentioned. At least with Pedro there’s genuine quality there and a massive ceiling potentially as well. He has a lot in his locker. Would be a fantastic signing. I can see him going up a level or two quite quickly. As well as making us less vulnerable when Isak gets injured or rested. Versatility is key here. Can see us playing Tonali and Bruno in a double pivot with Pedro in front of them. Love the idea of Bruno and Tonali threading progressive quick passes through the centre to him without Isak having to come too deep.

    Anthony Elanga

Talent wise he’s much better. Just a rotten mentality and attitude. I think the environment at ManU has meant that he’s lost his track. I don’t want him but I’d rather pay the money for him than Elanga if I was forced between the two. Don’t want either

Yep no high lines against us from many teams. That’s when we will struggle.

It would be. But less so than 50-60 for Elanga.

Chelsea and Dortmund in for Elanga as well now.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Would definitely be up to take a punt on him for little money instead of 50-60m on Elanga. He has talent. Then put the money in other areas. It’s not like Elanga is much better than Murphy anyway. Can’t lose too much taking a chance on him. I much prefer Akliouche though (more expensive obviously)

I don’t want us to change the way we play. I just want us to become better in our weaker areas as well as having a bit more variety/unpredictability in us. A technical player with a bit more guile doesn’t mean that we change that much at all. Just have a slightly different tool kit. 50-60m on Elanga and people say we need more money….

To improve and become better. We have done well but it doesn’t mean that we can’t do even better or improve in certain areas.

I find it astonishing how many on here put so little importance to players having good technical ability and awareness and just the quality in general play tbh. If he can run fast and deliver a ball then that’s enough. It’s more or less what Murphy does, although he is not as rapid. If we sign Elanga it means we have put close to £150m on three wide players and still we are lacking in creativity, ball retention, unpredictability, 1v1 and so on. To me it’s obvious that we need to raise the technical know how overall in this team. Have more different tools and variety to our game. It doesn’t mean that “intensity won’t be our identity”

He is key to them because they primarily sit back and hit on the break quickly. He won’t be playing the same way for us all the time.

Either way, I don’t see this happening as they’ll want even more than 50m which already is too much imo.

Really? I doubt it At least I haven’t even thought about itt that he played for them.

You must have been watching the wrong player then

I have seen quite a bit of Akliouche this season. He wouldn’t be cheap but absolutely nobody would be able to convince me that he’s not a much more talented player than Elanga. PSG have been after him but it seems like their interest might have cooled a bit. Also a player that would offer something different to what we have. Can also play more centrally if needed.

Absolutely not. Especially when I don’t see Elanga strengthening us considerably.

Yea he is, for them. I agree that they aren’t as good as us. That’s by what Nuno has done is quite impressive. Their players overall aren’t close to ours.

You make it it sound like Nuno is Bruce or similar. Like Nuno hasn’t got the best out of him. A manager that is bloody perfect in his style and setup for a player like Elanga. If we are being unbiased here then I’d say what Nuno has done in the league this season overall exceeds what Howe has done.

    Anthony Elanga

Aye probably , but he won’t be a transformational signing for us. That and that he lacks some important attributes that a proper footballer needs. He isn’t going to the top or even near.

A 50-60m player should be transformative for us. There’s not much between Elanga and Murphy. Unless they have PSR issues they won’t sell him for cheap. He’s not worth that much!

A house could be worth X amount of money. It doesn’t mean that that there are any buyers.

A 50m player should be doing more than “well”.

Would rather put big money on someone like Pedro and take a cheap punt on Bakayoko or similar. I’m sure Howe could get the best out of him. Then we would also have a striker to rotate with Isak as well as playing in a more withdrawn role with him. Elanga isn’t transformative in any way when compared to Murphy.

For me it’s not only about playing against low blocks, it’s also about us improving when it comes to ball retention and composure in general play. So that we don’t lose the ball too easily like we do at times and have to chase as well as struggling to control games when we lead. Could also add something like saving our energy and playing games out with more ease.

I very much doubt Howe was the one behind the signings of Bruno and Botman and Isak for example
