I said why in my post. You should read it 👍 Because he still has a long contract. No rush from the club or Isak at this moment in time. It’s best for the club as well as Isak to to not rush it. We don’t know what we’ve offered or not offered, if at all. I’m sure there’s been loose talks.

I’m pretty certain that we will offer him 200k+. They will know how vital he is for us if we aim to fight at the top end. Only way we will sell him is if the price is beyond ridiculous and for the greater good. Depending on our FFP situation. Even then I think we don’t want to. Putting squad depth a side and the lack of quality there, we are only 3 players away from almost certainly competing for top 5 on a more consistent basis. (Cementing) Obviously need to add more quality in depth too with younger quality players. Thats why I feel the club will break the bank for Isak and build around him, because we aren’t that far away from looking extremely strong. First team wise at least. So might not need/want to sell him for “the greater good”

@The College Dropout oh the irony about using the word weird… I was talking about his personality and lifestyle. He’s not that type. I didn’t say he will stay here and don’t care about money at all, as in signing a new contract at say a “low” 150k/week. What I’m saying is that he can get and will be offered a very good competitive wage (most likely). But I don’t see him going to another club just because of a slightly higher wage or for reasons like wanting to play for a more flashy club mainly. I don’t know our ability in the market going forward, but IF we can be reasonably competitive and ambitious in the market going forward then I think he will stay and sign a competitive much better contract. Because he will see that we can get forward, and we have a really really good base to build on from. But he will most likely want some assurances of what way we are heading, or allowed to head towards. He’s settled and in a good environment atm. I think there only gonna be a very very few clubs he’s willing to go now, if he decides to leave. Not many of them will afford him.

The way I’ve got to know Isak through the years gives me hope that he will sign a new contract. He’s very chill and laid back and a comfy guy in general. He’s not all “look at me look at me bling bling it’s all about image and money. I’m sure he will get a great wage and sign a new contract. Unless we are somehow even more fucked and restricted by PSR further ahead so we can’t grow at least reasonably ambitiously even if slower than the club thought (before new rules)

Doubt they will offer 150m or around that. Think they will go for Sesko. Especially when they more or less must sign a wide player too. Much more likely to go with say Sesko and a wide player for 100-120m or so.

That was a lovely pass. But how often does he make a pass anywhere near that? It’s not like he has made plenty of good throughballs consistently.

Eddie wants to give him a new contract if it was up to him. Hopefully we won’t imho.
