Give him Gordon’s mobile number. He’ll tell him what to do.
-
You’re spoiling all the fun.
-
Either one would be great as far as I'm concerned. I know Jorginho would be against the club's policy of looking at younger players, but he'd slot in very well.
-
Clearly it'll enable Eddie to rotate more, but we wouldn't have signed a £45m player unless we felt he would establish himself as a first team player. From what I saw of him last season, he's a better option than Miggy or Willock.
-
All a bit odd. West Ham seem to want to keep him, but they're not playing him - he's made 7 appearances. No-one but us seems to be after him. I've not seen the player, and I trust our scouting system and Eddie's judgement of a player. It looked like no other Premiership team were after Botman, and he got that right.
-
I think Dyche will keep them up. I can't see that there's much wrong with their squad.
-
They seem to want to do all the photos and videos of him being introduced to Tripps etc first.

I wasn’t ?

He reminds me of Bellamy - he’s fast, annoying, energetic and can play as a withdrawn striker as well as out wide. What’s more he has left his previous club with the fans hating him. What’s not to like?
-
I think he'd be a good signing, but I doubt it'll happen. It sounds like Everton were banking on Danjuma as a replacement, and are now looking at Ziyesh. If that fails, Gordon probably won't be allowed to leave, and Chelsea won't be wanting to do us any favours.

He went up and seemed to laugh very sarcastically at the guy as he was sent off. A yellow card was fair enough. A very feisty game, and the ref will need to be very firm next week. Our lads seemed mentally tired in the second half. They play at the limit of their abilities, and the week's break will do them some good.
-
Yeah, I think he's one for the long-term, rather than a fire-fighter. He seems to have a particular method and would need time to instil it. Dyche is the right choice - it's staring them in the face. They have some decent players and ought to survive.
-
Dyche is the blindingly obvious candidate. Already available, experienced in fighting relegation, and likely to be keen to take it on. I do think they have the players already there who can get them out of trouble. They’re not far behind at all.

I just don't agree there. Isak is better at holding the ball up than his physique would suggest, and Wilson has looked rather sluggish recently and defenders are nipping in ahead of him. Isak shows an ability to receive under pressure and somehow end up taking the ball forward. With Wilson now, that only happens occasionally. As far as creativity is concerned, there's no contest. Wilson's main strength is finishing within the penalty box, but in reality I think Isak matches him there as well. I don't think Howe is going to want to change formation against Southampton, but the case now seems clear to reverse roles, with Isak starting and Wilson coming on as sub.
-
It just felt like one of those unlucky games where the ball just wouldn't go in. Wilson didn't have much of an impact and struggled to hold the ball up. I'd be very tempted to start with Isak on Tuesday. I thought Dyer made a going point afterwards - that many teams are now defending deep against us and we could do with an individual who can unlock that sort of defence.
-
Willock. Gordon has more pace, and is stronger when challenging for the ball. I still can't quite believe that Everton are willing to let him go at this point in their season.

With ligament injuries, there's a grey area where the joint feels okay but you're vulnerable to aggravating the problem. The situation reminds me of when Fergie played Rooney a week after he sprained his ankle in the first leg of a CL game with Bayern. He lasted 20 minutes and he wasn't quite the same player afterwards. Wilshere's career was ruined after aggravating an ankle problem - again his manager was anxious to get him back. Kane has had long term problems with his ankle. Eddie lost an entire year of his playing career by aggravating a knee problem, so I think he takes a cautious approach to these things (eg Isak). Sorry to be a miserable git, but I don't think a week is long enough.
-
Yeah, at least if we sign him, he'll be our irritant, not anyone else's, which makes all the difference. I'm not sure exactly what's happened at Everton, but he's a good player.
-
He looks like a good all-rounder who can fill in on any attacking position. Possibly even as our third striker in case neither Isak nor Wilson are fit. He looks strong enough. I wasn't too sure on my first YT viewing - I think because I tend to hope any young Brazilian will be some sort of version of Pele - but once that was out of the system, he does look like a good signing.
-
With Partey, Odegaard and Xhaka as options, I don't think there's a place for him. And I don't think he's technical enough for Arsenal's style. But I'm one of those who can't see what the fuss is about. A good player, but not a great one.
