Geremi seems just the sort of character to make an ideal captain; committed, great pro, and a player with enough ability to command respect in the dressing room. Good choice IMO.

£6m did seem a bit much although I didn't vote, but considering today's market maybe it's decent value. He'll bring plenty of character to the team that's for sure.

Didn't start so well at left back like I said, but over the course of the pre-season matches he has done overall very well. He is starting to look like a big part of the squad which is a million miles away from where he was headed under Roeder.

Didn't think he was great at left back, but he lit up when moved forward into midfield. Starting to look like the N'Zogbia who did so well when Souness was sacked. Totally agree. If we aren't challenging for a CL in two years the boot would probably be justified given the quality of players we now have. I don't even think it's an issue tbh, I think we will make big progress in the next 6 months, never mind 2 years.

Owen's finishing ability will probably win us some vital points this season. If we aren't desperate for cash - and the Dyer saga would seem to suggest we aren't - then why get rid of Owen now he's over his serious injuries, touch wood? He should be back within a week or so, and he'll strengthen the team IMO.

I agree we need another right back, but this Drago sounds like he could play at CB as well. Cacapa and Rozenhal might be very good buys but neither of them are that big. Ok we have Taylor but I still consider him on the learning curve.

I don't care what shape the players were in before, training should be adjusted to accommodate the existing level of fitness of each individual player and not push them so hard they break.
