  1. Not surprised he stumbled when you see how fast he had to run to get to that ball before it went into touch. I read somewhere that he reached a speed of over 30km/h to get there. Not many would have chased that down over half the length of the pitch.

They're a tough physical spoiler team, and that's about it.

Wouldn't be that surprised tbh. He doesn't look like he lacks self belief, just a combo of poor fitness and not being a good fit for our style at the moment. Both can change.
  4. Must admit one of the first things which went through my mind was, at least this should ensure we get £25m+ for him if we do decide to sell. Not that I particularly want to, but I'm still not convinced he'll ever be a top striker. So if we make a big profit at least that's some consolation.

    Anthony Elanga

I think he's better on the ball and thinks faster. His control lets him down but ditto for Murphy. Personally I would be giving Elanga more start so he can build his confidence and learn how to play with this team.

    Harvey Barnes

The right side has seen less effectiveness all season regardless of who's on that wing. Might be a result of losing Tino's ball carrying ability at pace, but even the midfield doesn't seem to find the spaces between the lines on that side. Elanga seems to get starved of the ball unless he comes inside, so maybe he needs to do more of that.

I thought I saw it as well at the time. Certainly didn't look like he was diving to get a pen.
  8. Yep. I thought we would be better going into a low block and playing on the counter, but fair play, he made it look like we were still playing with eleven.
  9. That's fair, FWIW I do still think Osula lacks the predatory instincts of a natural striker. He's just not in the right place a lot of the time. But he's only 22 and he's definitely got some pace and power to his game, and from yesterday's showing, he can hit a canny strike as well, so I am willing to believe he can improve on his movement.
  10. Just keep our shape and stay in it please. No gift goals and we can get a result at their place if we need to.

    Anthony Elanga

He's better than Murphy, at least that's some consolation, even if he's not worth what we paid for him.

They should be sure it's simulation if they are going to take that route. The ref didn't even go for the booking initially, he caved under pressure from Man U players which means he should get sacked in my book.

    Joelinton

I hope that's burned into the psyche of everyone who thinks he's a donkey. As TCD would say, you don't know ball.
  14. I still don't think he's a striker, but he's one of our best forwards without a doubt.

Definitely. The ref was weak as piss there, but it also shows that we need to get back to shithousing like we did a couple of seasons ago. Any player who doesn't protest a shit decision in our team needs to be looked at whether he belongs at this level.
  16. Saw him described this way a few times, and also need to bear in mind some strikers develop later in their 20s, like Vardy for example.
  17. I think that would be a mistake. While I've mostly backed him from some of the more vitriolic criticism, he doesn't inspire confidence as a no 1 keeper, I don't think he commands his area well enough.
  18. Said it at the time in the match thread. Don't know why Ramsdale was getting so much stick for it, from that range you don't have time to react to a near post header from 6 yards out.

    Joelinton

For those who criticise his technique, tonight must have been a bit of an eye opener.
  20. Thought our shape was really good today, we looked like everyone knew their job and we were well set up to play to their strengths.
  21. Never really changed my mind on him. He's got pace and power, but obviously not a natural striker's instincts. But that pace and power with the shooting ability is worth a lot by itself.
  22. Some people just want to blame the goalkeeper, when the header should have been stopped by Hall, but he's beyond criticism.
  23. The success of Man City and Chelsea wasn't down to how competent they were, they were just allowed to throw enough money at it until they won everything.
