We haven't seen him strike the ball cleanly yet he's still scored 3 goals in open play. I'm hoping that's just rust from the layoff and we'll see him hitting a few pearlers as the season progresses.

Agree, PL is much more of a grind this season. I think we struggle with the elite CL teams because they have the top players who can evade our press more effectively, but teams like PSV are worth a third of ours on paper, so not that surprising we made them look a bit more ordinary.

My main gripe with him is he is taking the left wing spot ahead of Barnes who is clearly the better performer from that side. Feels like Gordon gets priority only because Barnes is more willing to play anywhere. Other than that, Gordon did well enough yesterday. He's been hit and miss this season, most of his hits coming in the CL, and his misses in the premier.

Even if his finishing isn't as clinical as Isak's, his pressing is 10x more effective. That was a big factor in the first two goals which basically won us the tie. The goal and assist were thoroughly deserved.

Nah, he won the ball, his foot was on the ground, only reason his studs caught the lad was the follow through which was unintentional. It wasn't like he carried through with it either as soon as he got the ball his studs caught the player he couldn't avoid him.

Was thinking the same thing. They will also be starting to feel the season catch up with them, we should have a good shot at winning this at home. Will be interesting to see what side we put out though with a huge CL game a few days later.

It's exaggerated to make a point I think. There are a few loudmouths who try to get attention on social media with extreme views so maybe it's not that outlandish.

Agree. Personally I have been disappointed with our PL campaign, think it has been less than what I expected. Our football has been disjointed, we aren't playing with anything like the same fluidity as we have in previous seasons, but there has been a lot of disrupting factors, and I think the biggest was probably losing Wissa immediately after losing Isak. That's a pretty big hurdle chucked in our way so to still be in there with a shout of qualifying for CL is not too bad. The season could still go either way, but we are still fighting on most fronts and that's decent all things considered.

@The Prophet has been posting in TBG mode the last week or so, not meant to be taken seriously. I think one @TBG is enough, The Prophet was better in analytic mode for me personally.

I think what he did right was just run at their defenders. Fuck the sloppy passes, don't worry about it if the odd one goes astray. Like the great man Keegan said, just get at them.

Dan Burn's been class at CB tbf, we've missed his height at set pieces, defensively anyway. But Botman is the future.

He's done enough in his last couple of appearances to deserve more starts tbh. Looked very bright and incisive.

We actually looked better in the second half when he replaced Bruno. That's not to take anything away from Bruno who is our best midfielder, but it shows just how good Miley is these days.

He couldn't be more the opposite of Isak. He's so happy to be here and loving every minute of it. Might not have the pedigree of Mr Surly, but the smile makes up for it.
