I've no real problem with seeing the best teams in Europe in one competition, but they should rename it if only due to its contradictory feeling. The CL would be pretty garbage if only the champions of each nation got in. It would also be a lot more predictable than it is now. It's just the way they've slowly, but surely, ensured that more and more teams from very few 'big' nations get more of the places that's a total grind. If anything, it would spice things up more if Spain, Italy and us lost a place and smaller leagues gained another spot. Might help develop some of these piss poor leagues by sharing the wealth among the smaller nations too. It's all pointless anyway, there'll be a European Super League before there's any sort of dignified "Champions" League. By which time national leagues will be all but dying/dead..

Delightful news, although what Ian says is totally bang on. Sadly it'll just reinforce their "Atlantic League" pish, nonsense ideas.

With regards to tonight, of course no one gives a shit. It's a friendly, also we've qualified already so there's nothing really to care about.

Fixed.

Yep, but I'd go with a week and a half ago.

RIP Sir Bobby. Thank you for all the memories.

Gutted. Obviously better than having Ashley any longer than we need to, but I'm not going to sit here and say I'm happy. What a waste of 2 years, we've ended out back where we started. Only us, great. A fucking farce.

My first football match was at the Feethams, can't remember who the fuck they were playing though. Won 5-0 though.

I've honestly not cheered so loud in my whole NUFC supporting life than I did today, it's just a total shame we were generally shit. I, however, feel devastated it's come to this. We, perhaps not as fans, but as a club, deserve where we're going. We're a fucking joke, Shearer or not.

Very short sighted. We've no movement up front, everything in the middle is congested because we've nothing in wide areas. Abysmal attempt at a formation today. This.

Depressing stuff. Actually managed to be quite positive about things, but once that goal went in my heart hit my arse. We're all over the shop, desperate punts, nothing coherent going on at all.

What the fuck! Just seen this.

He's a winner, I respect that. Scum.. Not bitter, are we? I agree about his hyprocracy, but then everyone is guilty of it. Everyone.

Well, a good start would be much better than a bad start (not just the first game obviously). Sometimes it can make or break your season. Utter myth, if you ask me. Great start last season, did that 'make' our season?

We're emotional people.

Why do I never get excited about the fixture list? First game? Really couldn't give a fuck. Who will we get? Really couldn't give a fuck... got to play them sometime.

Man, I hoped the penalty miss might bring him down a peg or two. Obviously not. Starting to wish Chelsea had won, and maybe it really would have. He's probably better off going to Madrid, he loves himself and they're good for that sort of cunt.

Good, and you won't find many Scottish based football fans saddened. I'd like to liken their rise to that of Chelsea's, which no one respects or applauds at all. They bought players well beyond their means, they took no steps to try and establish themselves as a side that intends to stick around. They sat and sponged off an insanely daft man that essentially thought it would be cool to do something like this. Feels sorry for their fans, I really do. All ten of them. Real ones that is.

People say bad news, but it's kind of a relief. He's in dire need of help, and that's about the only place he's getting it. All his old connections, friendships (footballers, Chris Evans and the likes), etc have cast him out to sea. Yet they'll no doubt tell you how sad it is.
