I didn't say we were treating Cisse poorly I said he was playing poorly, we aren't scoring many and thankfully we haven't marginalised the only player who currently looks capable of scoring his fair share of goals. How will he ever prove he's good enough to play up front if he never gets to do so? I want both of them in the team playing well, we'll not get that without changing something, namely the formation or the players in that formation. I don't see how Ba can clearly be said to be better than Cisse? Because he's played here longer? He hasn't got a significantly better goals:games ratio, and both have had terrible runs of form in terms of scoring goals when played as a right or left forward. The difference being that Cisse looks clueless on the right, and Ba looked fine on the left. I like Ba, I think he's great, I just want to see our best players put in positions they're most comfortable in.

He doesn't have some form of right to any position on the pitch, no matter who will pay him his wages. He's contracted to us, by his own choice, and should fucking play as a left forward if asked . This shouldn't even have to be said. I see it like this: We have 2 players who are as good as each other, and it seems like both of them like to be the main goalscorer. Ba is simply more versatile, and if it means pushing Jonas further back (or even out the team) then Ba should go left, Cisse centre and HBA right. they are our 3 most potent attacking threats, playing in in their most dangerous positions (overall). Seems to make sense, and if you're about to say 'Cisse hasn't proven he can score goals' or something to that effect, just remember how class he was last season. We need to get him back on form, he's vital, and will never get back on form playing on the wing (ffs) or on the bench.

I would never argue we haven't underperformed and that Pardew couldn't have done more. I just think there are other factors that haven't helped but the general grumble seems to be Pardew's tactics or Ba being a greedy cunt who has the audacity to demand he plays in his natural position are the only things that have hindered us. It's pretty audacious to demand anything pertaining to 'where you play' when you play football for millions a year, mate.

Must help when he can watch Jonas lack penetration and pace for an hour before going on. He knows he's got pace and can focus on doing what Jonas doesn't.

Hate to be one of those guys that calls people out on things they've said in the past, but I knew this guy was quality and genuinely couldn't believe the likes of HTT writing this kid off within a few europa league apps and some 20 minute spells in the prem. Clearly technically better than every player minus maybe Colo and Ben Arfa. His one touch passing and versatility in defending and attacking moves means for me he was clearly MOTM today.

Aye, this is my concern. What are french internationals Cabaye and Ben Arfa going to think about playing for a poor midtable side? If the slide continues, and somehow we still keep our big players, will we be able to make the recruitments we desperately need? We blew it big time this summer, we had the biggest pull (in terms of signing players) we've had in maybe more than half a decade, and we signed a youngster from Ajax? Should have kicked on.
