    Fred's Pledge

Why do we need to spend big? It's been shown by teams like Bolton, Blackburn and Reading that you don't need to spend big to get success. Why can't we bring in a couple of free's like Sidwell and Ben Haim. Then all we need is 2 or 3 more palyers who we could probobly obtain for £10-15 million.

    Jenas.

Think it was a mistake selling him to be honest. Looks far more creative than the likes of Parker, Butt, Emre and Solano have this year. If we hadn't sold Jenas and Bellamy I don't think we would be having the sort of problems we are now.

I'm sure that him coming back "stronger than before," isn't going to happen, unless he's operated on his hamstrings while inside his knee. No operation took place on his hamstrings but he has spent a lot of his rehab with the guy who fixed Dyer's hamstring and he has stated before he has refined his running style to help his hamstrings. Not going to make him "stronger" though is it? Sounds like the sort of thing Roeder would say...."Michael will come back better and stronger, i know that"...... To me if he has rid himself of his hamstring problems then that will make him a stronger player, maybe not performance wise but it will help in terms of he wont have to miss 6-7 games a season because of it.
  4. DO IT AGAIN: This is the time for action March 30th 2006: having lost at Charlton in our last outing we were 13th, with 39 points and 7 games still to play. After 6 wins and 1 draw, we finished the season on 58 points in 7th position. March 30th 2007: having lost at Charlton in our last outing we are 11th, with 37 points and 8 games still to play: H: Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Blackburn A: Sheffield Utd, Pompey, Reading, Watford Forget about the injury list, forget about the points tossed away against Wigan, Fulham, Charlton etc.etc. Start again -only this time let's show some pride, concentration and responsibility on and off the the pitch eh? And if do we turn out to be a team of wide- mouthed defenceless sitting ducks, let's start the cull right away and get the youngsters in.

  6. TBF the likes of Hunty,Patty and Krul aint 1st team players. The only reason they have played this season is because we have had a few injuries and have a very small squad. Exactly, without counting those players there would have been just 10 aoppearances made by true first team players.
  7. To criticize the job Clarkie is doing is insane and totally idiotic. Lets have a look who played under the reserves for Tommy Craig last year: Shola Amoebi - 5 Lee Bowyer - 1 Titus Bramble - 1 Michale Chopra - 16 Lee Clark - 8 Robbie Elliot - 8 Amdy Faye - 2 Steve Harper - 5 Albert Luque - 1 Craig Moore - 3 Charles N'Zogbia - 2 Peter Ramage - 7 Total = 59 appearances Now lets look at people who have started for the first team playing in the reserves this year: Oliver Bernard - 6 (And i'm being generous by calling him a first teamer) David Edgar - 7 Paul Huntington - 9 Tim Krul - 1 Albert Luque - 3 Matty Pattison - 14 Alan O'Brien - 4 Peter Ramage - 1 Pavel Srnicek - 2 Total = 47 appearances So not only more appearances but you could only consider 2 or 3 of this years performers to be first teamers, the rest are promising peospects at best. Furthermore the average age of the players playing for the reserves has been greatly reduced, Roeder and Clarkie have got rid of the players who were never going to make it such as Finnigan and Atkin and replaced them with 16 and 17 year olds from the youth squad, and 2 of those youth players scored our goals against Sheffield united the other night. For me Clarkie and Roeder have got the reserves going in the right direction.
  8. Link Can someone tell me how we actually did, are we making money or losing it?
  9. I'm getting more and more pleased that I signed up to Setanta last year. I was unsure whether it would be worth it just for the Ice Hockey and foreign football but since then they have acquired the right to the Australian Rugby League, Premiership for next year and FA Cup for the year after.

Only just realised that if the plan of a return against Chelsea is true how close we are to seeing him back, only just over 3 weeks! I think he could really give us a massive lead and help ua get that vital Intertot or UEFA Cup spot.
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/club_stats/default.stm That says that since his appiontment on Feb 2nd 2006 he has won 50% of his games and taken 42.96% of all Premiership pionts on offer.
  12. Has anyone else noticed the quotes are from Kenny Shepherd, not Fred or Bruce. He has no role in running the club and should keep his mouth shut on club matters like this. To be fair to Gleen and Freddie I bet niether of them are happy he's opened his gob about this.
  13. Just because he was at the Sporting/Porto game doesn't mean he was looking at wingers. Roeder said nothing in terms of watching wingers and I would presume Farrington has just clutched those names out of thin air.
  14. Terry Mac isn't a scout. David Mills is our only full-time scout. If I remember the two guys from West ham were into their 60's so I'd imagine they are just working part time.
  15. If we could get Sidwell on a free I'd sell Emre in a heartbeat.

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

I'd imagine he'd have been banned for the season.

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

Seriously how sad do you think I am, lol.

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

So if I accuse you of being a racist does that automatically make you a racist?
  19. stozo

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

    Not a proven racist tbh.
  20. stozo

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

Think the language of it is actually very key. While it clears him of the charge it doesn't actually clear him of guilt, just says not proven.
  21. stozo

    Emre - NOT GUILTY

Cleared of both charges. Niether case has been proven.
  22. Breaking News on SSN EDIT: from .cock AT a Disciplinary Commission hearing today, a charge against Newcastle United midfielder Belozoglu Emre was judged to be not proved. In its decision, the Commission stated that "having heard all the evidence presented, and having regard to the standard of proof agreed with both The FA and Newcastle United, we were not satisfied that the Charge was proved." Emre was charged on 12 January with using racially-aggravated abusive and/or insulting words during the match against Everton at Goodison Park on 30 December 2006. He denied the charge and requested a personal hearing.
