  1. Re: The weather and news reporters, the weather has changed for the better since we started to use them so don't complain.
  2. Mort & Allardyce hate each other and I've got proof. http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/7784/allardyceandmortot0.jpg They're trying to laugh each other to death.
  3. What a pile of shite, you forget to mention that Allardyce is going to resign, he'll be replaced by Souness with Roeder as DOF.
  4. If we didn't discuss non-stories we'd have nothing to discuss as nothing is coming from the club.
  5. You prove that we could have qualified for the CL without Asprilla scoring against Wimbledon and I'll accept that it's bollocks.
  6. Loads of Keegan quotes about why he left http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/fa_cup/1824074.stm Kevin Keegan insists he had "no option" but to resign as Newcastle manager five years ago after being offered a contract ultimatum. The former Toon idol returns to St James' Park on Sunday with his Manchester City side for a fifth round FA Cup tie. Keegan is still held in high esteem by the Newcastle fans after his rollercoaster spell in charge from 1992 to 1997. After returning to the club where he starred as a player, he lifted the Geordies from the depths of the old Second Division to within touching distance of the Premiership title. But Keegan revealed the manager's job lost its appeal after the club decided to float on the Stock Exchange, prompting his shock decision to quit. "When anybody leaves their job, it's rarely the way you want to leave," he said. "I know it was my choice to leave. I had no option but I was forced into a corner. "When the then chairman Sir John Hall first rang me to bring me back to Newcastle, he said `We are the two people who can save Newcastle'. "On the last day, he was nowhere to be seen. I felt that was bad. In fact, it was the one bad day I had there. "I was sat in the boardroom with Freddy Shepherd, Freddie Fletcher and Douglas Hall, men I had worked with. "But they said nothing as some finance man floating the club told me I had to sign a new contract or go. "I said `You don't know me. These people do. Thank you very much - goodbye!' "It was becoming a plc and I felt the focus of the club had changed. It just wasn't as enjoyable as it was."
  7. That is the way it happened, I'm sure the reason he was going at the end of that season was because he didn't want to work for a PLC, he said something along the lines of not being able to manage because of the constraints that would bring.
  8. Keegan walked because he was against the club becoming a PLC and refused to extend his contract bacause of it.
  9. Why did Keegan walk away?
  10. Did Keegan walk away? Maybe we should discount him because it doesn't suit your argument, it wouldn't be the first time that we had to ignore something because it didn't suit you.
  11. Excellent, you'll be able to start again when you get banned for spamming, I like your style, you'll have the pleasure of getting to 100 posts for a second time.
  12. So when you judge Asprilla you do so by taking out some of the games he played in, OK, I'll remember that when making judgements in future if it suits my argument, as for him doing very little for 18 months, you do realise in that time we qualified for the CL but we wouldn't have done so if it wasn't for his league goals in the qualifying season, do we count those? I don't think so. He only scored 4 league goals in that season. Keep ignoring stuff that doesn't suit your opinions though, its a hoot. If you like, you can answer the question about Ameobi then, are you going to judge him in the same way, as he scores goals in europe but is s*** in the league ? As usual, you will be slow to answer things that don't suit your "opinion". We qualified on the same number of points as Arsenal and Asprilla was the only goal scorer in games where we got points, your opinion doesn't come into this, it's fact. Stop trying to bluff your way out of this and just admit that you're wrong again, we all make mistakes and you've just dropped one almighty brick. If Asprilla hadn't scored against Wimbledon we'd have finished behind Arsenal, instead of in front of them.

I don’t know why I’ve bothered mentioning the CL, it doesn’t count. Well, that makes the record of another person at the club look worse.
  14. If you get your way then I want the voting reset again because I want to change my vote.
  15. Barnes scored 7 goals in a full season, Asprilla scored 6 and was sold in January, do we only count league goals now? Does that also apply to how we judge a season? Do we only look at league finishes? Interesting stuff.

    "Fatty" Carr

If people think Carr is about to become a good defender because of today then I seriously don't think they were watching him enough.
  17. I missed that, I can only guess that it's one of NE5's grandchildren on his PC.
  18. Asprilla didn't get the full season and only finished 1 goal behind Barnes who had the full season as far as I can remember.
  19. People forget that we only need to spend another £6 million net to better what we spent last year.
  20. I was thinking that, I'm still glad we won those game but defeat might have been better in the long term, having said that I'm sure the players who did play will have been lifted by the win so it goes both ways.
  21. John Barnes didn't perform more than Asprilla, it's unbelievable that you can come out with that.
  22. Not true if Geremi goes to RB and it's 2 months before Barton is ready. Geremi would be wasted at right back, I'd leave him where he is.
  23. I'd rather play Troisi in midfield if we're in the shit than pay £6 million for Smith.
  24. Another interesting bit: Shepherd’s revelation that the £9 million escape clause in Owen’s contract - the existence of which he initially denied - deactivates at the end of this month is understood to be incorrect. It expired on June 30.
