  1. He's still got something like 6 weeks of the transfer window left, we'll probably see more players move in those weeks than we've seen so far, it's hardly cutting corners. I'm not even sure he's waiting to de-list anyway, I think it's more likely that he's waiting for the results of the review.
  2. Ashley might think he's got a better chance of keeping where he spends his money a bit more private if it's not reported to the Stock Exchange. When he first started out in business he kept all of his business deals secret and that only changed when he made his business a limited company.
  3. I know the timing was about a week between Woodgate going and us bidding for Rooney, I can't remember which of the two Bobby was commenting on.
  4. Bobby said as much as that in his book, Shepherd asked him if he wanted Rooney and Robson said something along the lines of wanting a defender. Or am I confusing that with Woodgate going?
  5. Which one of you said that? Senior or Junior? Every post now should contain one of the two just so that we know who we're replying to.
  6. That doesn't look as if we failed because of our pulling power, it looks like we wouldn't match his owners valuation, whoever the owner was at that time, pity. It's a good job we always backed our manager.
  7. Good point, that's one where we went up against Man U and lost.
  8. Kluivert should have been a big signing, it just didn't work out, it's hard to say if we did have pulling power or not as we don't know if we went after anybody better than those you mentioned.
  9. I agree that the club is better than in 1992, I've never said anything different to that, fact. Shepherd took over as chairman when we had just missed out on winning the league title and he has all but left with us finishing 13th. As for who ran the club, here's your answer, it comes from Shepherd; icnewcastle "The uncertainty is making it hard for me to run the club, and I'm not prepared to put up with it." As for needing the help of God, just turn your mirrors in the house around, at least you'll not have to look at a brainless person.
  10. What will Ahsley have to do in 10 years of running the club to make him a success? You obviously think that Shepherd was a success even though you will not answer a simple yes or no. Considering Shepherd took over a club that had just missed out on winning the league, what will it take for Ashley to be considered a success considering he's taken over the 13th placed team that was going backwards and a club that is heavily in debt?
  11. How could Allardyce check his fitness without seeing him? What would you have said if we'd waited and somebody else took him and he turned out to be a good player? We've lost nothing in this, we've looked and said no thanks.
  12. While he's not exactly somebody I want, he's still better than playing Ramage, Huntington or Carr on the left, in that sense we'll have improved on last season.
  13. How did he f*** up the flotation?

    Rod Fanni

If this deal goes through soon and Shepherd is still chairman, will it be the last time he pays for Fanni while on club business?
  15. Bernard signed after the transfer window had closed.
  16. You still haven't answered, yes or no?
  17. You're not going to panic, are you? What if I reminded you that at this time next week we'll be looking at week 4, are the palms sweating? Do you have perspiration developing on your top lip?
  18. Yes but tomorrow is the start of the third. Monday tbh. Start a poll. Tomorrow is the 15th and we normally get 7 days in a week, I win so panic.
  19. Yes but tomorrow is the start of the third.
  20. Why answer a question with a question? The normal chain of events is for an answer to follow a question, that goes out of the window whenever a question is directed towards you. You said: (NE5 quote) "my stance is the same as it was with Shepherd, I'm only concerned with what happens on the pitch." Using your criteria, was Shepherd a success as chairman?
  21. A simple yes or no answer will do. Was Shepherd a success as chairman?
  22. Ashley or Mort may come out and say something when they have a better idea about the state of the club and what needs to be done to move us forwards.
  23. Shepherd isn't in control, relax.
