  1. Omg the office one and the Campbell one is hilarious!
  2. After Harper's shocking display lets hope Krul is given his chance.
  3. I disagree, think Ashely might be more willing to spend now. Ashley needs to fall in love with the club again, then he'll start spending. Ashley would like to spend as little as possible and hopefully stay up for maximum financial benefit, but he must have promised a budget to Hughton and he can't very well back out now. But you see when Ashley first came in he did spend his money. But since fucking up and the fans calling him a fat cockney bastard and all that, he stayed on at Newcastle because he couldn't sell the club and right now he's just spending little amounts of money as he is running it as a business. But at the start, he wasn't running it as a business, it was a hobby, a bit of fun on the weekend. Once we start getting good results and we start to be "fun" to him again, I'm sure he'll be much more willing to invest more money. Sort of like how people outdo themselves to invest so much money into their hobbies.

We can't afford his loan/transfer fee and wages apparently. So i guess the state of our finances is related to him after all. Your profile photo makes me sick.
  9. Scouting him again? This is almost getting as bad as Roeder scouting Kuyt! I was just about to say Skjelbred is Hughton's Kuyt before I read your post lol.
  10. Still keeping to what I said months ago that we'll finish 15-16th.
  11. Yes I would, has pace and skill but also brains and a good reading of the game. I always felt he was pushed out of the club by Souness more than anything.
  12. Shola kicking that girl, oh my word I pissed myself laughing, just the sheer joy on his face after she goes down.
  13. Telegraph saying we're going in for a loan deal I'm guessing with an option to purchase later. Either: 1. We won't get him. 2. He'll be utterly shit and a waste of wages while he's here. 3. He'll be a godsend that keeps us up but we won't be able to finalise the purchase at the end of the season as he would have attracted attention from bigger clubs. 4. He'll like our club so much he'll stay but we'll waste our entire transfer budget for next season on him and we won't be able to strengthen. (followed up by a season long injury to him in the following season)
  14. Not this again, of course win.
  15. I think we're demanding too much. Boyd can turn out to be a cheap but quality acquisition and can chip in enough to keep us up. He'll do us good service for the first two years back in the premierleague. We can look to improve later.
  16. It is the first time in a long time that a large voice of the fans have been saying "We need someone like Routledge" and the club have actually gone out and got them. I couldn't believe it when it was first announced Word, been so long since our club signed who we wanted at the right time.
  17. First season back, keep him, look to replace him the season after or the season after that. I'm not talking about his 'fuckups' rather that he doesn't seem to attempt saves when he believes he can't reach the ball. Most keepers would dive towards the ball and give their best anyway, even if it's a shot they have no chance of getting, once in a while a 'blind dive' or a 'hopeless dive' ends up being a wondersave, one of these wondersaves could be the difference in a game which could make a difference to a season (1 point last year keeping us up). Harper does everything well generally, is a slightly more commanding presence in the box than Given was, has slightly better distribution than Given was, though he's not as good as a shot-stopper. But i wish he would attempt some wondersaves instead of standing there watching the ball go in when he decides that there's no chance he'll get he ball, might make no difference 9/10 times, but that 1/10 when it results in a wondersave, could make or break a season.
  18. Media's stereotype of Newcastle fans wanting attractive football and nothing else is so misdirected. I watched the wolves vs stoke match on telly today, every 30 seconds most of the crowd were singing "boring! boring! boring! boring!..."
  19. maybe that show's how bad he was 1st half of the season So positive =D
  20. That would be class lolololol ..and we don't get promoted...imagine that...
  21. I used him in Fifa 10 Manager mode the other day, quite a decent sub player in your first season. I like him a whole lot more now.
  22. However, most other clubs have overspent just as much, they've just used better financial management to handle their debts. Wouldn't that suggest that most other clubs haven't overspent? If they've spent within their means to repay their debts then that's not really overspending. What Portsmouth did was spend far beyond their ability to ever repay, even if they'd managed to get into the Champion's League their earnings wouldn't have covered their expenditure. They might point to their plans for a new stadium, but they've not been filling their current one so it's debatable that they'd have been able to meet their best possible income projections. Yeah, fair point. I think there will be other clubs where the debt levels turn out to be unsustainable though, Pompey are just the first and worst example. Spot on. Feel sorry for the fans yes, but I don't think the club itself is hard-done by the punishment, don't think it's unfair either, I think it's definitely fair presuming, if they hadn't spent beyond their means they might be in the championship instead of us. As harsh as what I am is saying, and the Villa fan before commenting that it's glass-housed for a newcastle fan, well if we overspend like them, we'll come under the same punishment, so don't see how Portsmouth are being treated unfairly, and don't see why we need to feel sorry for them. The only people I feel sorry for are the fans, not the club itself.
