No we won't, if the game had gone on another hour we still wouldn't have conceeded, Cardiff were that poor. They missed a few chances in the game, doesnt mean they'd have kept missing. Our defendings been better recently, but luck has played a part in not conceding in 5 games. Several players have skied decent chances against us now that theyd score on another day. Perhaps being the big team is helping us in that way, puts more pressure on those players when they actually get an opportunity. Still at some point, someone will put one of those away. Certainly, if we had conceded in one of those chances I can imagine Cardiff would have dominated the game hencforth. We have been rather fortunate, and I think what you said about being a big team is spot on. For example when we were in the premierleague we'd concede goals in the most unimaginable ways (duff's deflection on d-day being one), in this league the opposition are missing sitters. But one day our luck will eventually run out, the opposition will get one of those goals in. Still though I'm optimitic, from what I've seen we have enough quality to get results even when we're outplayed.

I do agree with you on Barton, he likes to hold the ball and thread little intricate passes through, hard to do when there's noone around you. To be fair to the commentators Chopra the little brat did cause us a lot of problems, I felt he was at the heart of Cardiff's attacks, running, holding the ball and playmaking. The quality around him just wasn't good enough to beat our defence, apart from when we got lucky a couple of times. Maybe it's just me, but for most of the game I was thinking, hey if we had chopra alongside ranger supporting Nile's hold-up play we'd rip this league apart.

The only thing that really worries me about our performance yesterday is the lack of running from Barton and Nolan. They need more movement, I find that because these two don't move enough Smith is under more pressure in defence than he should be, also Ranger lacks support in attack because the two don't run in quickly enough.

Under a lot of pressure now, we're struggling with chopra. Also giving away a lot of dangerous free kicks.

Shearer!!! I always loved football (playing, watching it) from when I was a kid and I played as a forward at school from when I was young so Shearer became my favourite player. At first I was a Shearer fan but then I quickly became a Newcastle fan, and well I guess now I'm hooked, will never support another club!

If they weren't interested back in September, why not? Do they not have enough cash to match Ashley's earlier valuation? Are they just looking for a cheap club? Have they only recently found the funds? I'm sure the fact that the price-tag on our club has been reduced by 75% must have something to do wth it. It was up for 400 million pounds last September was it not? If it's 100 million pounds now, that's quite a cut.

Posting this from Sydney, foxtel offers championship games so I think I'll still be watching every week next seasons...fuck me this is going to be an awful year or two or three... Really? I thought they only showed them when there isn't anything else on. I was under the impression that they showed replays on Mondays...not 100% sure thouh...
