Great game, we had what...20+ shots didn't we? Owen's first half goal should've stood, replays show that it was onside but a win's a win and I'm satisfied. Class cross by Oba!!! I love that man. Oba performed better with a broken hip. It's great because under Roeder this is the type of match that would've ended 0-0 or lost 0-1. Our midfield trio a bit invisible, Dukes not doing much, Martins is terrifying them with his speed, meanwhile Milner's lack of pace eradicates any chance of us doing a counter-attack. I think a 4-4-2 with Martins-Ameobi might work.

Once we have Barton running in and creating havoc, and the creativity of Emre I'm sure we'll be a much more interesting team. Big Sam's still trying to sign more players so that will improve us, and as time passes and our players mould more into Big Sam's system we'll play better and better. Under Roeder we played bad football and lost. We had a great win against Bolton, and even when we played poorly at home, we still kept a clean sheet and got a point out of it. I think that's a possitive.

Yeah since we're not totally convincing in attack, if we don't start really pressuring them with conviction in the second half and we keep attacking 'hopefully' then it might be a great move to bring Owen on who can poach a goal out of nowhere.

We Need A Better Right Back. But in all seriousness, because Viduka isn't winning the balls in the air, and not bothering to link up(apart from that one through pass to Milner), we aren't exploiting the pace of Martins. Even with a Geremi, Butt, Smith midfield, if we have a solid centre, with Viduka linking up with Martin's pace, and Milner's crosses out wide, then we should be very dangerous. We're just not playing our strengths at the moment.
