The words "great" and "good" are subjective, different meanings to different people. IMO Laurent Robert had GREAT technique and an excellent footballing brain. However, he was also lazy and fairly inconsistant (overall in his time here). Some great memories of him like. Spurs 4-0 in particular.

Rooney. Despite the fact that he hasn't lived up to his early hype, he's still a great player. He's also the only one in the england camp that seems to have any fire in their belly. Even at the weekend, he sometimes seemed like the only man on the pitch for Man Utd at times. If they were going to get anything it was going to be Rooney who got it. From the mail; Newcastle directors Dennis Wise and Tony Jimenez are preparing to meet Real Madrid forward Javier Saviola this week in a bid to pull off a loan deal.

We don't need another striker? I think we do, and the type of striker is irrelevant in my eyes. If we can sign someone of Saviolas quality on loan for the season, in order to bolster the ranks and send Smith further down the pecking order, then i don't see the problem. The fact that it may be on loan tells us that it probably isn't long term.
