On Craig Hope, he's genuinely an excellent journalist or should I say, I agree with 90% of what he says. I watch all of his YouTube videos and the bloke makes alot of sense. From a pure journalism perspective, he's a classic hack, always looking for a scoop or a story and sometimes his stories have sensationalist headlines which seem like shitstirring... but that's his job. He's there to sell papers and get clicks. He's like that Team America bit, dicks fuck pussies, but dicks also fuck assholes. He seems to have good sources too.

Fair play to him. His choice. Hopefully we've held a good relationship with other candidates.

Love a redemption arc. Hopefully see him back in the PL.

Chelsea is the only club you can manage, get sacked from and come out with a better reputation.

That a joke? Might as well ask my mother.

Where you getting this from?

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Karl Kennedy. Top shagger. -
It makes entire sense to me that YAR will be fuming about Ashworth leaving. Say what you like about the Saudis but I think there is a culture of honour and standing by your word in business. Ashworth will, at minimum, have let the club down and at worst its seen as a complete betrayal. I'd honestly rather see the cunt sitting on the side lines for the foreseeable and then take MU for all they are worth in court.

Would love to have seen Craig Hopes face when Mehrdad slipped that little nugget into his inbox. Absolutely beautiful shithousery by us to leak that. Hope we team up with Brighton and City to put a lawsuit together.

Man Utd will be all over Poch.

Mental club.

They've never actually announced his permanent signing yet. Just that we are now obligated to sign him.

If we are looking at a keeper, which seems the case, I think it goes to show that what Howe says in public is largely bullshit. He was very complimentary about Dubravka post match at Brentford, but like all of us, he's clearly seen he's not good enough. The more I think about it... its quite obvious that we need another keeper. The only difference is that it seems we aren't content is merely looking for a cozy no2 to sit behind Pope but someone to push him all the way.

I'd love someone like Gordon to have a word with him and tell him not to have the summer off... or at least look at the summer as an extended training camp. Have a couple of weeks away, sure but come back with the intention of being fitter and stronger than ever before. Pleased for him with the player of the month award. Funny enough, confidence, on the pitch at least, doesn't seem to be an issue. He always wants the ball under pressure, it's one of his biggest strengths.

While that's a good point..... imagine us pressing Nick Pope in the same fashion.

Reckon 15m with a few performance related add ons would get a deal done and suit all parties.
-
I'm with you. There was a time not so long ago that quite a few wanted him as england number 1. It's not a big gamble, certainly at that price.

Can't play in friendlies.

Tosin next week? I'd expect movement.

I think you are right. Ben Arfa is probably the most talented footballer I've ever seen play for Newcastle.
-
Cabaye was quality, not on Brunos level but class all the same. He's another player that shone whilst being a big fish. Silly boy would have been talked about as a PL legend, of sorts, had he stayed. Instead his career sort of fizzled out after us.
-
Ben Arfa was of that level. Just unfortunately he was managed by an absolute weapon and sadly he had his own troubles which prevented him from ever doing it long enough. Bruno, Isak and Ben Arfa would have been pure filth.

I'd be giving Miley a crash course in the number 6 role. He's one of our few players comfortable enough on the ball to play there. If we get EC, I'd be tempted to give the lad as many run outs as possible in that position. Alternatively, and much more likely, Tonali drops in there from time to time.

Don't be fooled, Murphy isn't good enough long term. We need a team of quality players, who all believe they have it in them to win a game on their own. On too many occasions a Longstaff, a Murphy, or even a Krafth at the back, will not play at a high enough level during the crunch games. I like Murphy, he's a good lad and a decent player, but christ he need pushing down the ladder. He's ahead of Miggy mind.
